Proof the moon landing was faked.
He tripped on Neil Armstrong.
Lmao
Don't be ridiculous, they didn't fake it. They rehearsed!
why
@@Fire_Axus "faking" is jazz slang for playing material you don't know, just following your ear. Fake it till you make it.
In his 'auto'biography it says he didn't like when people like Dizzy Gillespie, and Louis Armstrong smiled all the time.
According to him he was a musician, not an entertainer. He wanted people to like him for the music.
And he liked people who acted the same way.
Then why did he make Miles Smiles 🤔 checkmate liberal
dizzy should have left miles alone then, life is too short not to have fun
a musician is a type of entertainer
@@ricsouza5011 but not a clown.
But it could vary depending on the type of performance. What you expect from an opera is different from what you want out of a metal concert, for example.
Musics about having fun man, not being a clown, very toxic mindset
Shouldn't the lack of atmosphere on the Moon interfere with the sound production on the horn?
Ask Louis Amstrong
heavily underrated joke@@Zilvinas.
@@Zilvinas.that's clever!! Bravo 👏
That’s what they want you to think! FAKE MOON LANDING!
I’m just joking btw I ain’t no conspiracy theorist
Tough gig
he always makes those kinds of expressions, even if hes happy or really into the music lol
I love how the drummer is just having a laugh enjoying life

Kenny Clarke
KLOOK!
You can hear Kenny Clark’s influence on Tony Williams!😮
Please tell me where! @@user-fg4fr2bz5y
His playing is awesome! Some of the stuff he does reminds me of exercises out of Jim Chapin's book.
Needs to put a mic on the snare drum, I can't really hear it in this recording.
so brutal
Bruh
Sounds like every gig I play 😕
More cow bell!
Jajajajja
Somebody in the band asked what food we got, Miles said we're here to play not to eat. Well Miles was character, but he was was clean in younger years. Later the heroin maybe changed him bit according to biography.
Camus on bass???
Pierre Michelot, I think.
That would just be absurd.
@@brodymundthehehe
@@brodymundt 😂😂😂
Yeah…
now he knows how we felt listening to him solo after Bird.
LOL
HAHAH
Burrrrrrrnnnnn
He's pissed because the gig barely covered the cost of gas for the 478,000 mile round-trip
😂😂
Imagine how good you had to be to play in his band.
I forgot I was playing this at double speed and thought it was the right speed
👀🙀
Not knowing when this was recorded, I'm just going to assume that he got sick of all the notes and that pause was him conceptualizing "So what"
Thought this was going to be another case of Herbie not knowing how to music ;)
Haha !
Resting Miles Face.
0:38 Summertime
That was a musical decision, overinterpreted by the poster. This use of silence was part of his way of improvising, a common thing.
@lkaven
Huh?? I don't see where "silence" is even addressed, what are you referring to?
@@hetmanjz the black rectangle in the notation beneath the words "with the" is called a rest

Very nice 😁 I wish you happy new year my friend
He looks (wait for it..) kind of blue.
Kenny Clarke best drummer ever
*existencial suffering* 💀
never thought i'd see you here omarito
yooo omar
Fan girling hard rn omarito
No, rather deep concentration as for any MD sideman, anytime
Miles was not one to tolerate stupid bullshit
Wow! What a clip! First time viewer. Pretty bad to the bone! I really enjoyed all of that. Even the video quality is pretty good, being from that time period. Drummer and Bass player rule as well! It would be cool if pdbass did a bit on that Bass player. Cool stuff...great video and transcription! Thanks for sharing!
❤️❤️❤️
Love Klooks simple rig here
It looks like Louis Armstrong wasn't the first trumpet player on the moon.
Kenny Clarke ?
Miles wasnt happy with the venue !!!! Miles wasn't happy about almost everything
😅😅😅
I made Eye Contact with Miles Davis outside his home in Malibu.
I hope someday they'll stop twitching.
🤣🤣
Drums driving me crazy.
😎
What tune?
Dig
It’s a contrafact of Sweet Georgia Brown
Echoing the other comments, it's a variation on Dig, contrafact of Sweet Georgia Brown. If you search up "Miles Davis archive found 62 years later" you'll find the whole tune.
I don’t know what Miles thought of that drummer, but that repetitive snare pattern was killing my ears.
thats kinda the style tho in a way
sounds fine and i dont think he has any problems here
In the full video the piano player really could not comp (play chords) at this tempo. If he did it was always the same voicings and rhythm. He wasn’t adding anything to the mix
are you on drugs ? looks like he's right back in to it after he stops playing he was probably instructed to not play as the drummer is exploding on every beat
@@nathanradich9374 i doubt miles cared about that.

Except for that time Miles first heard Joey DeFrancesco: ua-cam.com/video/NnebaLMtKAc/v-deo.html
What tune are they playing?
Dig :)
@@OliverWolfe Thanks
Who is on saxophone?
Might be Barney Wilen.
I thought the theme to the Jetsons was a lot better than this , actually.
Rhythm section leaving him out to dry
Yeah I wouldn't be happy either if I were that far away from the other half of the band. :P
😂 LOL!
... what?
The Master
I totally agree!!
the look like: "what i'm doing here, what it all this and who i am?"... (na)
😅
I love Kenny Clark but god damn… leave some space
Nah he's on fire here
Haha fire or coke? 😂 Killing that snare trampling all over miles in my humble not nearly as good of a drummer opinion 😁
they’re on the moon, how much more space could there be
It would’ve helped if they turned the snare down or if he hit it softer, it’s just too damn loud. They probably only have one or two mics on the whole set tho, not much the producers could have done.
So glad I'm not the only one who was thinking this. Leave some space and actually listen to what the soloist is doing. Must have been having an off night.
Re duro el baterista jajaja
@diegofantin6012 jajaja in Polish means eggs
In all seriousness; is this a particularly nice solo to listen to? It doesn’t sound nice to my ears, but I’m not sure if that’s just because I haven’t listened to enough jazz like this to properly appreciate it…
Music is very subjective. Perhaps this wasn't your cup of tea but it's great to try new things! 😊 Keep exploring!
I like it. I probably wouldn't like it if I hadn't given my ears time to adjust to music like this though.
It was a bit formulaic imo. But that's with sixty years hindsight. At the time it may have been cutting edge. At least he didn't just squeak the trumpet a couple of times and then stare at the floor for five minutes.
Really, just pulling a solo out of context may not be the best way to judge the music itself. I think jazz songs work best as a complete piece
The solo is pretty good (it's Miles Davis...), the recording however I think is really weird. The drums are way over-miked and you can hardly hear the bass and piano (probably the venue). For me, that makes it a lot harder for my ears to understand Miles' choices. Also as others have mentioned, hearing a solo out of context can be confusing.
He is probably high AF
On what?!
I read his autobiography. What a hoot! Short synopsis: everyone but Miles is stupid and John Coltrane picked his nose and ate the boogers.
🤣🤣
No bass, no harmony … it did sound like crap, long night ahead 😂
This is disrespect you don't know what he's thinking lol. But yea its so wet in that room makes the drums super clear but super loud this sounds like when you would have to give a jazz recital in a classical hall at a university.
I didn't mean to distract the master ! Agree with your points 😁
Daniel Craig tearing up that bass
🤣🤣🤣
Albert Camus on bass
🙂👍
:')
It's not that he's not impressed or something. He's just on coke ;)
🤣🤣
Dont think there was much coke in the sixties.
The Drummers playing is fuckin annoying!
i just never liked miles' work. the main songs are great, but to me his melodies don't make me feel anything.
That's alright. Music tastes are so personal 👍
Overrated indecipherable modal lines
That sucked. Can’t believe people still listen to this guy
