"You built friendships but they sailed away without you" This song got me deeply emotional as I reflect on my lives journey around the world. The great people I met along my trip in hostels, hiking, parks, schools, etc that I would never meet again.
Aye mate, same here. Nations, islands, continents, cities, towns, villages. I did relief work. Body is too busted to dig and chop and lift now. Met so many lovely people of many languages, faiths, cultures, and skin tones. Become mates with a spectrum of people, broke bread with them, lay under the stars with them, had to help bury some of them. My heart overflows with the love of knowing them and the grief of it as well. Life is beautiful but brutal too. Our relationships with each other is what makes it worth the pain of loss and struggle.

I survived a civil war, travelled, worked in places I wouldn’t probably have dreamt of, met so many people of different ethnic origins, culture, thought processes etc. ate, drank, understood them & had so much fun. Ups & downs is what life has in store for all of us. Only the time that we face them differs, in my opinion. Life’s too short pal for fighting over trivial matters. I wouldn’t probably meet a whole of them again but I can proudly say that they did enrich my life on earth. I thank each one of them for it. What a song mate. Absolutely brilliant......

I always come back to this song. One of my favourites.
As I was driving to Jasper, Alberta from Banff. (4 hour drive) This song played on xm radio and it was the first time I heard it but the lyrics had me captivated. Every line I was able to relate to and has a resemblance with how I capture photos... with purpose. Each line has a purpose and I believe they all eventually lead up to the kind of character this artist has or is singing about.
Bravo to this songwriter. Everyone should have a chance to hear this song.

I fell asleep to another passenger song playing on UA-cam. It cycled through an undetermined number of videos and I slowly woke up in the middle of this song a while later. It was quite a surreal experience waking up to this relaxing song with lyrics about exactly what you are feeling about life.

Two years ago when this album was first released I remember how I'd play it on repeat every time I boarded the bus. That chapter has ended and I can't believe it's been two years. Can't wait for the new album this Friday, but at the same time there's that bittersweet feeling of remembering how the past albums (this one in particular) had accompanied me on my bus rides and comforted me through my tough times.
