Then, she'd bring him inside, make dinner for them, and eat. She loved those times. All good things must come to an end. World War II was announced, and my German great-grandfather was drafted against his will, as my grandmother recounts to me and my siblings and cousins. She tells us that he was forcibly drafted, as he already went through the First World War. He didn't want to kill again. My great-grandfather never took pride as a soldier. He was executed at the end of the war. My grandmother refused to tell more, so she had a diary on her. She's passed. I miss her lovely stories.
It reminded me of the days when I felt peaceful even when the world appeared full of mysteries. I looked at it curiously not worrying about the things it would bring, just pure will to know and wonder, knowing that adults got my back. I reminisce about those days and am grateful for those days. The photo made me remember a lot of things. My grandmother would watch her mother as a child, waiting outside for her father ( my great-grandfather) to come back to work. Then, she'd bring him inside, make dinner for them, and eat. She loved those times.
All good things must come to an end.
World War II was announced, and my German great-grandfather was drafted against his will, as my grandmother recounts to me and my siblings and cousins. She tells us that he was forcibly drafted, as he already went through the First World War. He didn't want to kill again.
My great-grandfather never took pride as a soldier.
He was executed at the end of the war.
My grandmother refused to tell more, so she had a diary on her.
She's passed. I miss her lovely stories.

I looked at it curiously not worrying about the things it would bring, just pure will to know and wonder, knowing that adults got my back. I reminisce about those days and am grateful for those days. Funny how non-conventional mediums can make one feel like that, Thank you.
