Cuando tenía 20 años escuché por primera vez el Bolero de Chopin por la radio (Radio Nacional de España), en directo, en el Concurso Chopin de Varsovia de 1995. Acerté a grabarla en una de esas viejas cintas de cassette de óxido de cromo, y, durante muchos años, fue la piedra de toque por la que habría de medir todas las demás versiones de esta pieza que, andando el tiempo, he escuchado en muchos y buenos pianistas: Ashkenazy, Rubinstein...etc. Gracias a internet he podido disfrutar de nuevo esta interpretación, y me ha hecho muy feliz. Her touch and phrasing of melody make so much sense, it is so beautiful. One can hear how young and fierce she was then - and during 22 years she has grown, and scope expanded.

This is so beautiful. Even though she was in her early twenties it is a great interpretation. What I like the most about it (her interpretations) is that it sounds / flows as if she were improvising. Not too many pianists can make the piano sound this natural and spontaneous. She should have got first prize. These competitions can be so unfair. I hope some day talented musicians don't have to compete to be noticed. Competition has nothing to do with Arts. In a more harmonious world we would certainly not waste time and energies competing against each other. We would, instead, help and love one another. Bravo Gabi!!!
