For all the comments about how terrible she is for not adopting: Where I live, all of the dogs at the shelter are huge pups or pitbull mixes and the small pups get picked up before the shelter even opens (probably to the places that let you "adopt" them for over 500 dollars but whatevaa) house isn't built for a big dog. Adopting isn't always the best option, or an option at all. Her getting this pup does not result in the death of dogs everywhere - relax -.-

also i used golden retriever as an example because they're extremely popular dogs that people go to breeders for, proving my point that if you wait a bit you can find the dog you're looking for at a rescue

it's different in LA. my friend got a pure bred golden retriever puppy from a pound in LA, if she tried she could've found a cute puppy from a rescue.
