How To Unpin-Disassemble a Straight Razor

This would be done if your handles (scales) are cracked or otherwise damaged or you just want to replace them. This would also need to be done if the blade was damaged or you wanted to replace it. All that’s needed is a fine grit file, some painter’s tape, a ball peen hammer, and a punch with a pointy end.
