Man, the first time I fought Odogoron with an insect glaive it was incredible. Both of us bobbing and weaving, leaping at each other fighting for our lives. This theme will live with me forever. Video games are truly magical.
Hell Yeah! Glaive main. & 1st time i fought him, took 2 carts and 45 mins out my timer. Also my 1st arena quest to try and complete the weekly rewards, against 2 Odos!
This was me, but with the Light Bowgun, nailing him with piercing shots down his spine and watching him flail into my tripmines was the most fun I had in world upto that point
The Vale is such a disturbing, yet wondrous place in its own way. I like how the game acknowledges that the beautiful Coral Highlands...nay, the entire New World...needs a place as foul and full of decay like the Rotten Vale to become as lush and beautiful as it is. The effluvium - a literal flesh-eating bacteria - is the means through which all this life can thrive. Without death, there can be no life.
It's a part of the overall message of the game. Death may not be with utter grace, but in passing, the Will of Life is passed on to those who needed more. None know this more than those who have commited to the pasing from the mortal coil. But in even death, there is still much wonder to be had.
I love how in every installment there is *one* monster that will force the player to use and learn i-frames properly. Those who started with 1 are forced to learn i-frames for Monoblos, those who started with Unite learn i-frames to battle Nargacuga, those on P3rd learned i-frames to battle Zinogre and now on World, Odogaron is the"wake up call" for i-frames.
Honestly, I just decimated the poor thing with Twin Daggers. High mobility allows me to weave in between attacks, and the Demon Rush Y+B just turns it to mush. Doesn't always go smoothly, but when it works, it REALLY works. Lances work too, a little boring at times, but they work.
Currently not in the base game, and as Goss represents an Oni already (at least I believe so), and considering the very specific habitats Odogaron lives in, I'm not that sure of this anymore. If and when they add G-rank, we might get a map with Clifford again.

I think Odogaron's armor alone would make him a prime candidate to return in Monster Hunter: Rise's Japanese aesthetic. As someone who hadn't had a chance to get into World but has played the older games, I will be absolutely thrilled to fight him.
World is still alive as far as I can tell. I just got into it myself and the higher up you go the more people you find. Still plenty of time to jump in.
I agree! One of my favorite monsters in the Rotten Vale is Odogaron. It just looks like an old Japanese legend or myth. It also looks like an ancient painting due to the details and patterns it has.
Hunting Odogaron solo flawlessly with dual swords, dodging and countering with no mercy or quarter has to be the biggest rush I've felt in a long time.
I was playing MHW with a friend to get hyped for Wilds together. We got to the part where you need to fight Odogaron, and I happened to get into it solo. I lost. But this fight was so fucking good. I run Great Sword, so I had to go up against a MUCH faster foe, forcing me to go on defensive, wait for an opportunity to get my footing and fight back. After losing the first time, that's when I learned about how I needed to prepare for this fight. My friend offered help with Odogaron, and I explicitly said "I gotta do this by myself." This music reminds me why I love monsterhunter now. Moments like these, where you're forced to adapt like the beasts themselves . . . Very Excited for Wilds.

i feel like this pretty much became my favourite fight music because of the Odagaron fright. Something about it just makes you feel like even though you are ill prepped the first time you encounter it, you're not going down without a fight
At 1:51 I got a key memory of fighting a Radobaan in the slide area, when that awesome horn bit kicks in I do the trusty “HAMMER JUMP SPIN TO WIN” knocking the Radobaan out of its spinning attack, stunning it and then killing it one hit later.
I still remember fighting that Radobaan for like 45 minutes straight. I don't even remember how many times it carted me, but I remember first hearing this track sent shivers up my back. I associate it more with Odogaron now, but that first expedition with Radobaan was my real test and the point where I questioned if I was really going to keep going in this game. So glad I pushed through, and kept rolling.
I got it stuck on a hallway once and the motherfucker won’t stop using his cartwheel back to back for like 6-7 times in a row. Probably broke his AI somehow
This song is my absolute favorite! I really enjoy having a good 1 on 1 fight with Odogaron with this booming in the background. The rotten vale is one of my favorite places in the game and the monsters there are a lot of fun to fight. The best part is the build up around 1:07 with the bits around 1:36 and especially 1:51 making the whole thing a lot more epic!
Such an epic theme, especially when you fight Odogaron using a charge blade. Trading blow for blow with that monster has been some of the most pure fun I've had with this game, and before I stopped playing I would take on missions specifically to hunt Odogaron for the thrill of it. Most people would list an elder dragon as their favorite, but Odogaron is my top monster.
100% best theme in the game. even IB tracks don't really compare to how hard this slaps, and the perfection that is Odo contributes to that. I could do that first fight 100 times and still get chills

This is amazing. I love the combination of sounds and the unique combination of rhythms and diversity of moods in this composition. Absolutely outstanding and wonderful.
First time I battled Radobaan, I noticed this song and was like, “damn. This song kinda epic” lol. But my first MR Expedition was in the Vale with a few hunters I joined with. First monster hunted with 3 others was a Fulgur Anja. That fight was epic. Even though I had heard it thousands of times and loved it each time…for some reason, the song hit different during that fight. Just amazing stuff.
I played MHGU on switch for over 1000 hours and loved every single moment of that game. MH games weren’t something I particularly was familiar with so when I tried it out, it was a rough beginning but well worth the effort. With RISE soon next year to come out, I wanted to play MHW to really grasp the other spectrum of MH I had missed out on. Needless to say, MHW is beautiful and diverse enough to separate itself from MHGU. Now, even with all the hours I spent of MHGU, I can say that MHW has caught me deep in its grip and I am enjoying it thoroughly. And the main reason was this theme as I fought the Odogaron for the first time as an Insect Glaive user. So much fun mounting and aerial combos, but hes fast and mobile enough to punish you if you think you can spam. He has honestly become my favorite monster all of the monster combined in both games, hands down.
For being a Low Rank fight Odogaron is honestly one of the most fun fights across the whole game and expansion and I am kicking myself for somehow thinking he was a boring fight when I first played (fuck you Defender weapons)
0:23 I can almost hear Odogaron's Snarls and Roars in each beat drop, Though he may have not been the strongest, I do enjoy Clifford the Big Red Murder Doggo.
He wasn't the strongest or the most dangerous, but he sure as shit was hands down the most aggressive, and definitely one of the fastest. Fucker was bouncing off the walls to try and murder you.
He may not have been the strongest monster in the New World, but he was definitely the one that teaches every newbie Hunter: "If you don't learn how to read body language, react, take advantage, and dodge... then your journey ends here". He's the monster that forces you to learn every skill a Hunter needs
Absolutely amazing track, honestly. It helps it scores one of my favorite non-elder fights in the game. Meat dog my boy I love you. The underlying synths that accompany this track give me Nausicaa vibes.
I remember helping some hunter in his fight against my favourite monster and this theme automatically made everything 10times more epic. The poor guy fought an Odogaron for the sixth time so I decided to help him.
This song will forever be the theme music to my favorite gaming accomplishment.. my first time in the vale, off my ass tired, using greatsword (I was a db main at the time.), no idea what I was walking into. I ran through every monster I came in contact with. Radoban, girros, odogarron. I slept like a king that night.

Don't know how it is for other weapons, but as a bow hunter I certainly didn't need any i-frames vs. Odogaron. You can sidestep everything he does.
If Odogaron gets into Rise they need to bring this back as his Official theme, but also spice it up like they did with Mizu's theme

100% best theme in the game. even IB tracks don't really compare to how hard this slaps, and the perfection that is Odo contributes to that. I could do that first fight 100 times and still get chills
I would disagree but I don't have a personal fav really.i like bazel,nerg,kushala and xenos theme.i also really like the wildspire waste,rotten Vale and hoarfrost reachs battle theme

I legit get chills from this theme. That's how good it is.
First time I battled Radobaan, I noticed this song and was like, “damn. This song kinda epic” lol. But my first MR Expedition was in the Vale with a few hunters I joined with. First monster hunted with 3 others was a Fulgur Anja. That fight was epic. Even though I had heard it thousands of times and loved it each time…for some reason, the song hit different during that fight. Just amazing stuff.
Dalamadur is so epic that they have a theme only for their corpse.

I played MHGU on switch for over 1000 hours and loved every single moment of that game. MH games weren’t something I particularly was familiar with so when I tried it out, it was a rough beginning but well worth the effort. With RISE soon next year to come out, I wanted to play MHW to really grasp the other spectrum of MH I had missed out on. Needless to say, MHW is beautiful and diverse enough to separate itself from MHGU. Now, even with all the hours I spent of MHGU, I can say that MHW has caught me deep in its grip and I am enjoying it thoroughly. And the main reason was this theme as I fought the Odogaron for the first time as an Insect Glaive user. So much fun mounting and aerial combos, but hes fast and mobile enough to punish you if you think you can spam. He has honestly become my favorite monster all of the monster combined in both games, hands down.
Fighting Odogaron with the SNS to this music was probably one of the best monster hunter experiences I had in a while
For being a Low Rank fight Odogaron is honestly one of the most fun fights across the whole game and expansion and I am kicking myself for somehow thinking he was a boring fight when I first played (fuck you Defender weapons)
0:23 I can almost hear Odogaron's Snarls and Roars in each beat drop, Though he may have not been the strongest, I do enjoy Clifford the Big Red Murder Doggo.
He wasn't the strongest or the most dangerous, but he sure as shit was hands down the most aggressive, and definitely one of the fastest. Fucker was bouncing off the walls to try and murder you.
He may not have been the strongest monster in the New World, but he was definitely the one that teaches every newbie Hunter: "If you don't learn how to read body language, react, take advantage, and dodge... then your journey ends here". He's the monster that forces you to learn every skill a Hunter needs
Absolutely amazing track, honestly. It helps it scores one of my favorite non-elder fights in the game. Meat dog my boy I love you.
The underlying synths that accompany this track give me Nausicaa vibes.

Just beat odogaron with insect glaive, I loved how cinematic the battle felt
when I first arrived into the vale, I was freaked out, I saw flesh and bone everywhere. Then I heard this theme, and all my worries went away

I remember helping some hunter in his fight against my favourite monster and this theme automatically made everything 10times more epic. The poor guy fought an Odogaron for the sixth time so I decided to help him.

This song will forever be the theme music to my favorite gaming accomplishment.. my first time in the vale, off my ass tired, using greatsword (I was a db main at the time.), no idea what I was walking into. I ran through every monster I came in contact with. Radoban, girros, odogarron. I slept like a king that night.

@@falafelfreak tbf rise is still incomplete for me, dual blade setup hasn’t changed too much while their is still few new monster to choose from. Hope they add Apex armors back or else for me HMWI is still a better choice.
