    Presence of God is a small but huge moment of being one with God in our mundane activities. I was just walking outside where I suddenly look up at the sky because there's a darkening above which means it's going to rain,but I was strucked with a little glimpse of sun rays peering through the clouds and I felt a profound peace from God in the midst of a coming storm.

    I am very happy I came across your talk on Mental Prayer. I thank God. I also thank you Kevin and David for bringing it to air. This is one of best, if not the best explanation on Mental Prayer. I like this talk so much so that I take it with me, when I go for Mental Prayer, when I initially started, so as not to miss a step or understand the explanation given on a step. May God richly bless you both.

      Me too. I read Saint Theresa's the interior castle but still found mental prayer elusive.
      My parish priest recommended a short book by Fr. Jacques Phillipe called Time for God. It was very helpful. I still struggle to quiet my soul often, but I am now able to spend more fruitful time in mental prayer before Our Lord.
      I highly recommend
      In addition to the great advice of these gentlemen, I usually also repeat a meditative verse when I sense my focus drifting during mental prayer. My normal go to is 1 Sam 3:10 "speak Lord, your servant is listening". Sometimes He speaks to my soul, sometimes He doesn't (or at least I don't perceive it) but always I know He is glad of my offering

    Love how you logged in before starting 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
    Q: How did padre Pio pray a minimum of 30 complete rosaries per day? Or, which of the nine levels of prayer makes that possible?
    Obviously, most of us don't advance highly enough to pray like saints, I'm just curious.
    Oh and, can someone explain why God had to become man and die for our salvation? What would've happened if that hadn't occurred?
    God bless!

      Thank you for your comment. Frank Sheed writes in his book, "Theology for Beginners":
      "Owing to the sin of the first man, the race had lost its union with God; a breach lay between. Where God and man had been at one, they were now at two: till at-one-ment, atonement, was made, heaven was closed to the race's members.
      "God could, of course, have simply written off the race as a failure. He could, as simply, have forgiven the sin. He did neither. He chose that in human nature the sin committed in human nature should be expiated.
      "For the act by which Christ redeemed us was a wholly human act. The life He offered as sacrifice was His human life; an offering of the divine life would have been meaningless. The suffering was in His soul and body; the death was the separation of His soul and body. ...
      "But He who performed the act was God: actions, we have seen, are always in the nature, but the person does them: and the Person whose human nature this was, in whose human nature all this was done, was, is, God the Son. Because He was truly man, His sacrifice was truly human, so that it could be set against the sin of the race. But because He was God, His act had an infinite value, by which it compensated, outweighed, not only all the sin men ever had committed but all they ever could. That, in essence, is why it is redemptive."

      God bless you.

      Thank you, think I got it.
      Compensating for past and future sins, but with the caveat of living life according to Catholic dogma though, right? I mean, we can still end up in hell if we're not careful.

      @revelation12_1 Рік тому

      @@mana7412Exactly. Scripture teaches that one’s final salvation depends on the state of the soul at death. As Jesus himself tells us, “He who endures to the end will be saved” (Matt. 24:13; cf. 25:31-46). One who dies in the state of friendship with God (the state of grace) will go to heaven. The one who dies in a state of enmity and rebellion against God (the state of mortal sin) will go to hell.
      Regarding the issue of whether Christians have an “absolute” assurance of salvation, regardless of their actions, consider this warning Paul gave: “See then the kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who have fallen, but God’s kindness to you, provided you continue in his kindness; otherwise you too will be cut off” (Rom. 11:22; see also Heb. 10:26-29, 2 Pet. 2:20-21).
      As the Bible says, I am already saved (Rom. 8:24, Eph. 2:5-8), but I’m also being saved (1 Cor. 1:18, 2 Cor. 2:15, Phil. 2:12), and I have the hope that I will be saved (Rom. 5:9-10, 1 Cor. 3:12-15). Like the apostle Paul I am working out my salvation in fear and trembling (Phil. 2:12), with hopeful confidence in the promises of Christ (Rom. 5:2, 2 Tim. 2:11-13).

    What are is penance. And egs

    • @TheFatimaCenter
      @TheFatimaCenter  11 місяців тому

      Thank you for your question. In this discussion, penance refers to any prayer, act of self-denial, or good work performed in a spirit of repentance for sin. Fasting (that is, not eating until late in the day) is an essential example. The spirit of penitence prompts us to hate sin and to make a firm intention of amending our lives. God bless you.

    Aren’t we supposed to be doing mental prayer as we pray the rosary? I’m confused by this topic every time I hear of it, because it sounds like what I thought we were supposed to do during every mass, each time we read scripture, and during the rosary. I thought this was what the mysteries of the rosaries were for. It seems to make sense to everyone else when I read comments. I hope someone can help me understand this better.

    • @TheFatimaCenter

      Yes, that is correct. On pages 61 and 62 of the TAN edition of The Secret of the Rosary, in the chapter titled "Twenty-First Rose," we read concerning the importance of meditating on the Mysteries of the Rosary:
      "The works of Jesus and Mary can also be called wonderful flowers; but their perfume and beauty can only be appreciated by those who study them carefully----and who open them and drink in their scent by diligent and sincere meditation.
      "Saint Dominic has divided up the lives of Our Lord and Our Lady into fifteen mysteries which stand for their virtues and their most important actions. These are the fifteen tableaux, or pictures whose every detail must rule and inspire our lives. They are fifteen flaming torches to guide our steps throughout this earthly life. They are fifteen shining mirrors which help us to know Jesus and Mary and to know ourselves as well. They will also help light the fire of their love in our hearts. They are fifteen fiery furnaces which can consume us completely in their heavenly flames.
      "Our Lady taught Saint Dominic this excellent method of praying and ordered him to preach it far and wide so as to reawaken the fervor of Christians and to revive in their hearts a love for Our Blessed Lord.
      "She also taught it to Blessed Alan de la Roche and said to him in a vision: "When people say one hundred and fifty Angelic Salutations this prayer is very helpful to them and is a very pleasing tribute to me. But they will do better still and will please me even more if they say these salutations while meditating on the life, death and passion of Jesus Christ----for this meditation is the soul of this prayer."
      "For, in reality, the Rosary said without meditating on the sacred mysteries of our salvation would be almost like a body without a soul: excellent matter but without the form which is meditation----this latter being that which sets it apart from all other devotions."
      God bless you.

      you meditate on each mystery by taking a few minute pauses before the Our Father then after meditating on that mystery, you can proceed with the prayer. I can't seem to remember which Priest I heard that from
