I am sitting here in south Louisiana , USA and when you said here comes the thunder we had a bout of rolling thunder. So funny. I love watching you .I have learned so much from you. Living in hurricane alley I am always looking for new things to dehydrate or can or freezer meals. Thank you so much . You are greatly appreciated
Oh my gee, the little jar over the center of the dehydrator trays!!! (Face palm) why have I never thought of that!!! Genius!! Still after all these yrs I have been following you, even before my homestead journey really began, and still your a breath of inspiration and encouragement! Thank you for all you do Mrs. Volfie :)💙
Never thought of making my rice instant and making it with broth! I think I will be doing that with the bags of rice I've got for long term storage. Could do all different kinds. Beef, chicken, ham, onion. Yummy. Thanks Bev.
I have been looking for a way to use my rice,I have food allergies and this was so helpful.I wanted to say also what a comfort your videos are, many years ago after shoulder surgery I discovered UA-cam and your channel and it was such a blessing while I recovered.i come back again and again to your Christmas videos,I cry every time at my favorites, when you share about your dad and the first Christmas in your new home, and Howie decorating the Christmas tree with the boys.your videos uplift on the hard days,Thank you so much for all you do♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Another time when you absolutely flummox me with your recipe. I love making broth, and have often wondered what else I could do with it. I also use it instead of water when cooking the rice. I just never ever would have thought of cooking that and dehydrating it. I love this idea, especially as it is now hurricane season and we often lose our electricity. Usually it's not for very long, but I can see how having a jar of this along with my already dehydrated veggies, etc would be easily made into a meal. It would be a lot easier to heat water with a fire than to cook a whole meal of rice! THANKS again!
I have made this for about 2 yrs. It is quick and easy to make and like you said; sooooo delicious. Take away my potatoes and pasta but I'll fight for my rice. God bless you and yours
My mother is from Puerto Rico and rice is our main staple. We make it in a rice flour porridge for breakfast. For lunch, dinner and desserts. Not all in one day lol. It's made hundreds of ways so you can't get sick and tired of it. Love your channel.
My lazy girl minute rice is equal rice to veg/beef can soup and depending on the broth in the soup add water needed and microwave It is quick and easy for a lunch or a side dish I think your instant rice would make it even better!
Thank you Bev I needed this video ☺ is there such a thing as onion broth? My french heritage tells me as a child it was really good for soups or what you just used it for.
Thank's so very much Bev. I do have a question, sorry, I don't have a dehydrator so can I turn my oven on low and do it that way? I have my homemade vegetable stock ready to go. Thank's so very much for sharing this with us Bev, I really appreciate it and you as well. Much Love and Blessings to you and Howie and Everyone here as well. God Bless. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Even with Basmati rice I rinse the starch out before cooking so the kernels don't stick together. I think maybe you wouldn't have to unstick the kernels after dehydration? Maybe?
this Alabama girl has missed so many of your videos.got locked out of youtube.forgot my password but im back now.have been a fan for years.pray your doing great now.
I'm one of those people that picks her battles. I don't have time to make homemade broth, as much as I'd love to, so ... can I use store bought to do this? Or is there something using store bought that I'd need to be aware of in order to do it this way? Thanks, Bev. A neighbour from the Cornwall area. Have a wonderful day!!
Do you have a recipe or method for dehydrated chicken and stock? This was so excellent! Need to see if my dehydrator is still functional. Thank you so much for this!
Have been looking through the videos for how you make all your broths & can them. Could you please direct me to the recipes to make the broths? Thank you.
Mrs.V, is there anything you CAN'T do? You are a walking homesteading encyclopedia. I save all my lids for hermetically sealing stuff. They work great if you take care when opening them. Have a wonderful camping trip. You and Howie deserve it. God bless you!
OH OK BEV, YOU JUST TOOK IT UP A NOTCH!!!!’😆😉 I never knew u could do this AND do u know how many times I have left over rice???? YOU JUST SAVED ME!!!!!! 🤣😳 YOUR AWESOME!!!

Looks yummy. Never thought about it.
You are incredibly intelligent! Thank you so much for sharing this! I would never have thought to do this.🥰❤️🙏🏻🇨🇦🍁
Thank you so much!
This is so handy, tasty and nutritious. If I have more than one jar, I vacu-seal the second jar so it'll keep longer.
Hello Carol

I love cooking my rice in broth! What a great idea to dehydrate it!

@@future.homesteader thank I will ☺
Fantastic idea!
Thank you! Wonderful idea!!

Bev I’ve never made rice in a pot on the stove. About how long did that big amount of rice take to cook?
I never time it. I cook it unbtil it is done. if there is extra liquid when done..just pour it off.
That’s so wonderful…. If you don’t have a vacuum sealer can you freeze the rice in zip lock baggies? Thank you!
👍💯💖
Still love your videos like this!
i'm going to try to dehydrate some cooked rice for long-term storage. i figure it will save on water since you have to rinse the uncooked rice so much
The dried rice on the towel would not be good for birds right? Thanks Bev
Comment for the algorithm!
Thank's so very much Bev. I do have a question, sorry, I don't have a dehydrator so can I turn my oven on low and do it that way? I have my homemade vegetable stock ready to go. YES..but do it on no higher than 150 and stir often
I used your tips for this rice. I make small meals in a jar for busy days. I love it 💞..
Wonderful!
good tips
Do you ever have it gummy due to not rinsing it? Or, is basmati rice already not prone to getting gummy
Even with Basmati rice I rinse the starch out before cooking so the kernels don't stick together. I think maybe you wouldn't have to unstick the kernels after dehydration? Maybe?
I would never have thought of this. Great tip!
Thank you!
What kind of dehydrator do you have?
Yes is handy to have on hand. I only used water when I made though so I will use broth next time.
Can you can that in a pressure canner in pints/quartz instead of dehydrating it
this Alabama girl has missed so many of your videos.got locked out of youtube.forgot my password but im back now.have been a fan for years.pray your doing great now.
Good to see you!
Can you do this with white rice?
I'm one of those people that picks her battles. I don't have time to make homemade broth, as much as I'd love to, so ... can I use store bought to do this? Or is there something using store bought that I'd need to be aware of in order to do it this way? Thanks, Bev. A neighbour from the Cornwall area. Have a wonderful day!!
You can use store-bought broth just make sure that you've put it in the fridge overnight and skimmed off any fat that may float to the top
Looks wonderful. Have you been I the pool yet
Do you have a recipe or method for dehydrated chicken and stock? This was so excellent! Need to see if my dehydrator is still functional. Thank you so much for this!
I think purposeful pantry YT has a vid on dehydrating broth.

Ty, I don't get any notifications any more
So you don’t clean your rice
This was 2 years ago. I do now!
Mrs.V, is there anything you CAN'T do? You are a walking homesteading encyclopedia.
I save all my lids for hermetically sealing stuff. They work great if you take care when opening them.

Run...I can't run YET
@@OurHalfAcreHomestead I can't run either. Advanced arthritis both knees. Bursitis one knee. 😒
Amazing way to get veggies into children who won't eat them. Thanks for showing me how to make my own minute rice Bev. Much love from Thunder Bay.
Save my jars. Put rice in brown lunch bags. Then vacuum seal.
Mrs. Bev, awesomeness. Justcanother terrific idea you have given me. Thanks. A must try now.
Thank you ☺️ I will have to make this.❤️🐕🐾🐾🤗

Silty vegetable matter....yum! 🤣🤣
Can the rice be stored in Mylar bags after dehydration for longer shelf life?
Hello Anne..
How are you doing today?
Looks yummy!
Hello Laura..
How are you doing today?
Yummy and quick. You can't beat that!
Can we use parchment paper instead of the fruit tray?
Thank you! Sure is great to have this around the kitchen!
That looked so good!
I'm making rice too! I'm serving it with Kilbasa and cabbage.
Could you do that with chicken and beef broth and mix in dehydrated veggies all together? As in 1 jar
Yes! However you want to put the beef or chicken broth in the fridge overnight and make sure to skim off any fat before you use it to cook the rice
Awesome recipe! Thank you!
Just cook it all by itself. It is a complete meal. Thanks for sharing.
Best idea ever.
I remembered you mentioned this so here I am watching and I can't wait to make this, Thank you
Love your cooking & do u have a cookbook????? U r fabulous
Thanks Bev. I don’t know how I missed this video.
She meant 12 CUPS of broth 3 quarts.
That was simple, Thank you
Uuuggg- I've discovered what folks have been saying about ads, and I'm watching through the ad.
Thank you that's great
DearBev....do you have a video on your dehydrator that you prefer? I may need to change mine out to a better one.
Mind blown 🤯🤯🤯🤯
I have got to make this, thank you
Very smart!
What a great idea! Will save me cooking time, when I drag my self into the house at the end of a long day. 😆
Rice is bad for moths
Pretty sure the birds will get it first.
Do you think I could do this with brown rice?
I would try a small amount first
I love this idea! Where do you learn all of these things? I will be saving peelings for making stock and than this rice. Stay well and thank you!
