Not going to lie, the way you overlayed your sponsorship video over your work is Much more effective than how a lot of creators just tag on a full minute to the beginning or end of their videos.
I was thinking the exact same thing. It's really effective at keeping the video interesting even during a sponsor message most of us have heard dozens of times.
If you want to do little to no work sanding the inside later it helps if you push the tool bit away from the part before you pull it out so it doesnt scratch the sides.
i'm shocked at how big a difference there is when you didn't do a baking soda bath, compared to the mokume ring you did before when you did. it looks amazing!
Your rings are so beautiful!! I’m recovering from my fourth spinal fusion and am starting to make rings so I can keep my mind busy. Wish I had an expanding ring mandrel. But financially not able to order been off work for 2 years. But your videos have given me so much!! Love watching them I think I’ve watched every one of them and looking forward to seeing more!!! Your awesome!!!
One amazing ring after the next. It's like there's a never-ending flow of visions and designs coming from you and your team. I wish I had a bunch of money to buy all the PAD rings I wanted. Luv the ring and I can't wait to see what's next
Hey Patrick 👋, wow, that ring is outstanding. I really like the way the lines come out. Very crazy pattern on it. The different metals in it makes the ring pop out. Very nice ring.😎
Have to warn you on base metal mokume.... You need to make a liner to go against the skin from a material that won't cause skin reactions. Even then, wearers need to realize that their skin from the adjacent fingers will come into contact and can cause problems. We usually make a liner from Silver (not Nickel Silver) for this in jewelry.
Have you ever tried to put your ring mandrel on a cordless drill lock the ring into the mandrel and then take it to the buffing wheel while the ring is spinning on the drill. I find you get an awesome polish that way.
Always good to watch someone doing something they are interested in. I think I watch for the process and any methods I could use for individual links. I wanna make chains and individual links with good quality makes a difference in quality. Not really the same but knowledge never hurts.
I swears everyone I watch one of your vids, you just keep surprising me with the amazing rings and results you get on them xxx I like this one, not a true fan of the goldish look, but I like this type xx thanks for showing spud xx
You can mask the internal wear band with Urushi lacquer while it is in the acid bath to keep it perfectly smooth. Then polish it out after and repaint it back in very lightly to create a protective layer so that those wearers sensitive to copper and silver will not be discolored. It is non-toxic and lasts for years. Urushi is the lacquer created to layer paper and leather in the armor of the Japanese Samurai. It was so impenetrable that in some cases it absorbed the energy of black powder rounds at close range. Prized for its properties it is still used in some high end furniture making and creating protective layers for sensitive jewelry wearers.
Glass isn't hard to work with, you just need the correct tools. Obsidian shouldn't be any different from other fused-silica glasswork. And they do make tools for lathes, and I'm sure there's a specialty bandsaw blade made for glasswork. A glass ring, depending on the glass used, would be brilliant. Obsidian would also be good, though I wonder how translucent it would get being the thickness of a ring, might lose some of it's defining characteristics if too much light passes through it.
Can you force a patina onto it? Brass and copper can patina pretty easily but nickel shouldn't. Also, saw some brass aging stuff online which might make a cool antique brass look
Great ring as always!! I dont know much about ringmaking, however etching I do know a thing or 2 about, if you wanna get rid of the bubbles you could use a feather, also if you wanna play with patterns you could try covering up different parts before puting it in the acid, it could be a cool experiment :D
if you had etched it for longer which of the metals would have etched away more severely? Just trying to imagine how it would have turned out if you had.
could you make a ring out of a neodymium(or other) magnet it would be interesting to hear how it would feel to wear it and see if you could feel the vibrations of nearby electric currents
I'm a new subscriber and in awe of your talent at your young age. How in the world did you become so adept at machining, lathe work, ect. I'd enjoy a youtube on how you got to where you are. did you have a mentor or learn on your own?
While the material is cool, I think I'd prefer if the 'grain' patterning was either parallel to the band, or on a diagonal. Perpendicular stripes with two polar sections isn't as appealing to me. I wonder if you could do patterning in rod stock for mokume gane and damascus, I know you can in flat stocks and it can give cool looks to blades.
I really love these videos, love watching the process and the artistry. But is it a design choice or a necessity to make them that thick? Not sure if you just have really big fingers, or if the footage makes the rings look bigger than they really are, but they look somewhat uncomfortable? Definitely prefer narrower rings, myself.
Didn’t expect to like any othar ring more than the superconductor, but then this mokume gane blows it away. Wow, just gorgous. But if all three metals are ‘soft’, this one will get worn down fairly rapidly?
To be honest ... after the etch I think I would have stopped with this one . Just left it naked ... the Mokume pattern just popped so well after the flats were ground in . Also would like to see if you could do a revers of this ring " obsidian ring with Mokume Gane sets "
Hi Patrick, thanx for posting this nice video but it would also be helpful if you can show at the end of the video how you put the label inside your ring. I have mentioned almost on every video but no response from you, I would appreciate if you can, thank you!
Amazing !! I´m jewelry designer and I love Mokume Gane technique
Not going to lie, the way you overlayed your sponsorship video over your work is Much more effective than how a lot of creators just tag on a full minute to the beginning or end of their videos.
I’m glad you liked how we did it!
Yes it was good it came as suprise
I was thinking the exact same thing. It's really effective at keeping the video interesting even during a sponsor message most of us have heard dozens of times.
And a fitting sponsor, I could listen to the sponsor while watching the video! No wasted time! Hah!
@@TheDyingFox And it stops us from just skipping the sponsor!
Bravo Audible!
Absolutely beautiful ring.
I always love the obsidian look.
Stunning final product 😍. Can’t repeat enough how much I love your rings!
If you want to do little to no work sanding the inside later it helps if you push the tool bit away from the part before you pull it out so it doesnt scratch the sides.
Audible should be thrilled with your integration. Sponsors- take note.

Awesome metal mix. Killer ring as always
KILLER intro. Great ring! Cheers! Chris.
I'd love to see a metal scraps ring. Like the scraps the come from the center of the rings
The way you did the sponsor message was fantastic. Great work on the ring!

Michael T Shue Studios , what sort of skin reactions?
Nickel can cause eczema, and copper touching skin for an extended period of time can cause issues as well.

Where can I buy this lacquer? And can I apply it after I get my rings ? We ordered a pair of these rings
Beautiful craftsmanship, I'd love a ring like that, hope it goes on the store, keep up the great work.
Best video yet! Beautiful ring and love the way you did the sponsorship x
Beautiful ring bro!
I hope you are still making these when I get enough money to buy one lol. This is probably my favorite ring yet.
Finally! Been waiting for you to do another Mokumegane ring! And this one is perferct! Keep it up my man!
Right now I want a ring!!!!!
The water jet guys had some actual obsidian recently - maybe grab some and make an actual obsidian ring with obsidian facets?
Nathan Binns that would be awesome
obsidian is extreamly hard to work with when it comes to things like this. it is glass after all lol

legend has it that I'm going to try lol

You are SO talented I LOVE watching your videos!!
Love the ring
Incredible! Love your rings Patrick! :D
Cool ring man.
Gorgeous
what do you do with all the shavings? have you mixed them all together in one single piece of metal and experimented with them?
I like this one even better than the one I have. I'll have to look up the pricing on your website Patrick.
that is beautiful!
So glad to know how to pronounce it at last! Big fan of the mokume but the angles on this one look uncomfortable
Nice work.
Where did you get your lath also you should make a ring out of a hockey puck or golf ball
It looks awesome before you etch it!
Omg please sell it on your store saw it on Instagram and got pretty excited but this video really made it even better!!
Great ring
Beautiful!!!!
that is a awesome ring!
Can you force a patina onto it? Brass and copper can patina pretty easily but nickel shouldn't. Also, saw some brass aging stuff online which might make a cool antique brass look
That looks like something some kind of king would wear
Nice job 👌👍
Great ring as always!! Hey Patric I LOVE your videos! You've inspired me to make rings thank you so much for the good quality content! Keep up the good work :)
Your a awesome ring maker! I've watched alot of your videos I love your meteorite rings and super conductor ring! I hope I can buy one some day!
Could you use a cut off bit to bore??
What happens if you heat anodize it? Will it change colors or will it just stay that pretty gold color?
if you had etched it for longer which of the metals would have etched away more severely? Just trying to imagine how it would have turned out if you had.
could you make a ring out of a neodymium(or other) magnet it would be interesting to hear how it would feel to wear it and see if you could feel the vibrations of nearby electric currents
What would the care be for a ring like this? The brass will need to be protected from tarnishing and copper from oxidizing right?
Good taste, Ready Player One was a great book
Awesome like always. How much do you think these will go for once you put them on your site?
So precious metal prices for green fingers? or do you insert a silver/gold inner cuff?
I wonder how lignum vitae would look as a ring, maybe layered with actual iron or stainless steel?
That metal would make an awesome infinity gauntlet ring, you could use glow powder in place of the stones
Hi there, nice video! Wich acid to make the contrast? thank for sharing!
Super cool
I'm a new subscriber and in awe of your talent at your young age. How in the world did you become so adept at machining, lathe work, ect. I'd enjoy a youtube on how you got to where you are. did you have a mentor or learn on your own?
Damn I’d want to buy this
Would you be able to do some Zico-ti?
Could you do this with a dremel?
Happy 420 ya'll!
Love love love 😍😍
Man you are the best!! How can I start making ring just like u???
Hey I worked at Vivint for 7 years! What is your relationship with them?
While the material is cool, I think I'd prefer if the 'grain' patterning was either parallel to the band, or on a diagonal. Perpendicular stripes with two polar sections isn't as appealing to me.
I wonder if you could do patterning in rod stock for mokume gane and damascus, I know you can in flat stocks and it can give cool looks to blades.
Love your videos man ❤️❤️
what do you do with all the left over material? a lot comes off of the ring when you shape it, do you use it for inlays of other rings?
Just 2 words
Wow !
thats 3 words and a number
I really like the music that you make in the videos. Could you list the song names in the description of your videos.
Have you tried making a ring out of a chunk of tiger's eye with an obsidian finish?
If I were to describe a custom ring to you could tell me about how much it would cost
Dang I want one of those
Awesome!
Ring idea: take all the powders and shavings from all the different materials you use and turn them into a ring
What could happen if you rinse the acid in simple water? Great job btw
How do you prevent the ring form staining youre finger
Didn’t expect to like any othar ring more than the superconductor, but then this mokume gane blows it away. Wow, just gorgous.
But if all three metals are ‘soft’, this one will get worn down fairly rapidly?
You got mad skills young man. How did you get into the trade was your old man a jewelry maker?
Ever thought of doing a trigold mokume gane ?
To be honest ... after the etch I think I would have stopped with this one . Just left it naked ... the Mokume pattern just popped so well after the flats were ground in . Also would like to see if you could do a revers of this ring " obsidian ring with Mokume Gane sets "
