If you want to downplay the stigmatism of the LGBT and the subversion that the stigmatism contributes to, then you should re-evaluate the equation. The social slander is contributing to the fall of political systems and governments while wickedness gains power and the people remain distracted and divided amongst eachother. Actually, people in the trans community are 4 times as likely to be victims of violence than cisgender people. I believe what Hozier is saying is that some politicians are demonizing, or belittling, this community in order to distract from larger issues. In doing so, they do put people at risk. I've met trans people and they are no less normal than cisgender people. Or to put it differently, who is normal? Peace to you.
