I got so far and came so close... It was an emotional journey where I pressed on and I'm happy with how far I got. Most will never stand where I stood legitimately. All I know is that my friend lost one away from the end of the video trail and in all honesty that's a far more dissatisfying loss from my golden certificate of which I'm so proud of!
I made sure to play the game honestly the first time, but on a second watch as just a viewer and seeing some of the different videos, it was incredible to learn about the sheer scale of these probabilities. Amazing video, Grey. Thank you so much for making this!
made it to round 7 before losing, thanks for an awesome time Grey! This must've taken forever, and i can't even imagine how hard it was to keep track of which videos to link in where
I never cried from a UA-cam video like this one hits. I also lost but made it quite far on my attempt genuinely father then I expected. I came back to uncover more of what lay hidden in the video. The message is so moving I dare not ruin for those who also uncover it. Just genuinely thank you for making this video. I too hope our honest champion 🏆 comes. This is video and its shout into the void is art science and humanity at our most vulnerable.
I am honestly terrible at not cheating in games, even in the real world with someone in front of me, yet virtual Gray kept me honest to a fault and I was out very quickly
This is absolutely fantastic! I can't wait to see friends and family try this out, I already knew I had terrible luck, so I'm not surprised I didn't make it far 😂
I explored many different options until the end, without much playing really, just to discover the whole scale of the real virtual maze he built. Man, you've got to appreciate his dedication! He built various different paths so that you can't memorize the options, he even did various failure exit videos congratulating and/or consoling depending on at which stage you failed, and also in the final game to reach the 1 in a million probability there are 3 different options! In one he plays rock, another is paper and another is scissors, not going to tell which path leads to each, of course :) But not only that, each one of them leads to a different copy of the same victory video!! (Why upload the same video multiple times you ask? My guess is that he probably wants to keep statistics and know through which path did people reach the finale). And there might be some hidden detail after the end, that I'm not going to spoil by telling you what it is, letting you discover for yourself if you have the curiosity to explore (faking victories, of course, there's no other way to reach it)
Grey does explicitly say that the draw is a loss and the choices are drawn on the screen with the draw option always being in the right "lose" category. Surprised people are confused.
I made it to 1 in 100,000, the stress felt like a hole in my stomach. I have no clue how many branches there are, but I'm going around again just to try and see them all.
This was awesome! I didn’t play honestly, I wanted the entertainment and did it deliver. Thanks for the rabbit hole! Hoping you post a video with the full tree or a playlist with all the videos that you made for this. I’m sure it took some time!
After over 2 dozen attempts, I made it to the end... but failed the next challenge halfway through. In my grief, I cheated to see what was next. Although I reached it with dishonest means, it was a beautiful sight nonetheless.
This was a lot of fun! Unfortunately I lost immediately but I can't imagine how much time it took to make all these videos as I went back and watched a lot of them, amazing!
wow i actually got to 59 players left in unlucky and it was honestly uncanny. it felt like you knew what i was gonna play every time and just messed with me.
What an awesome game! It must have taken SO LONG to make this. I failed on the first rounds, but I encourage everyone who fails to cheat their way to the end anyway for an amazing conclusion!
I really enjoyed this. I hope that one day someone is able to honestly reach the true ending of this game, overcoming the odds and able to finally open that message in a bottle hurled upon the raging rapids of time. But, that’s not me.
Grey, you have most certainly outdone yourself! Mind boggling coincidences? More like a mind boggling amount of videos that link together like atoms themselves!
At my summer camp they had us do a rock paper scissors competition. They had one person from each group go up front. They decided it would make sense to have person 1 battle person 2, then that winner battle person 3, etc till there was an ultimate champion. I still get mad thinking about it to this day.
Draws also count as a loss. Math works out that 13 consecutive wins of 1/3 odds is about 1 in a million. To maintain 1/3 odds you have to treat draws as losses
DRAW = CLICK FAIL! You Drew/Lost Click ua-cam.com/video/CPb168NUwGc/v-deo.html
You Won: ua-cam.com/video/Ul8r0Thgx44/v-deo.html
Thanks for clarifying!
Nooo! Lost in the 33% first chances of loosing
Attention UA-cam algorithm. When CGP Grey drops a video it should be top of my recommendations.
haha

1.2 million views. To the 1 person that got to the end legitimately you are a legend.
This was, SOOOO FUN!!! I was giggling the whole time. Who knew playing rock, paper, scissors against a video would be so fun!
Even failing so badly i got a certificate for it was fun!
I once played a game like this in a big group of over a hundred. The person that won's strat was to do rock the whole time
The one benefit of my memory issues is i can periodically revisit this and not be cheating!
I made sure to play the game honestly the first time, but on a second watch as just a viewer and seeing some of the different videos, it was incredible to learn about the sheer scale of these probabilities. Amazing video, Grey. Thank you so much for making this!
I am impressed at the number of ties in a row I got. I almost thought the video was joking with me, predicting my every move.
Same!
I thought I'd spend about 3 min on UA-cam with this CGP Grey video...half an hour later and I'm still here.
Very creative!
Normally I would be willing to cheat, but…honestly I don’t mind I got eliminated early on
I think all I learned from this is how bad I am at rock paper scissors.
made it to round 7 before losing, thanks for an awesome time Grey! This must've taken forever, and i can't even imagine how hard it was to keep track of which videos to link in where
Wow the number of options in all of this is crazy, lots of work went into this video.
I never cried from a UA-cam video like this one hits.

Just genuinely thank you for making this video.

Didn't win and I'm beginning to suspect I was really unlucky lol. Good luck everyone!
I am honestly terrible at not cheating in games, even in the real world with someone in front of me, yet virtual Gray kept me honest to a fault and I was out very quickly
I KNEW all those hours playing Card-Jitsu would benefit me in this world!
This is a brilliantly creative take on such a simple game
This is absolutely fantastic! I can't wait to see friends and family try this out, I already knew I had terrible luck, so I'm not surprised I didn't make it far 😂

This... was... amazing...
What a beautifully somber ending after a long adventure...
And exactly why we love Grey
good old rock, nothing beats that
paper does beat rock every time.
@@sirBrouwer D'oh
I didn't win however I made it further than I thought! Good luck to all of you!
RESULTS IN THE REPLY, BE BEWARE OF SPOILERS.
Round 1: Won 5x (1/243)
LOST ROUND 2 IMMEDIATELY
Round 3: Won Once (1/3)
Yeah, I definitely peaked at the beginning, oh well!
Another genius piece of Internet art from Grey and his team
so what are you meant to do if you draw? Because it feels like cheating if I say won
In the later videos who puts a draw as a loss
Grey does explicitly say that the draw is a loss and the choices are drawn on the screen with the draw option always being in the right "lose" category. Surprised people are confused.
@@DukeBG I missed that initially
Just amazing dude, this is your best work. Thank you.
This was a wonderful journey. I got out early like most people, but it’s a wild ride to the end.
I didn't get there legit, but I cried at the final video.
This is a really big maze, I lose in first round but I was exploring the big maze. You are so dedicated. congrats
I sadly also didn't win. However, after playing honestly i wanted to see the end.
I love the Idea and the message of the video.
I made it to 1 in 100,000, the stress felt like a hole in my stomach. I have no clue how many branches there are, but I'm going around again just to try and see them all.
Not a winner here, glad I got as far as I did though. Good luck all.
Lost - Draw - Draw - Draw - Win (x3) - Lost
What a rollercoaster. Thanks Grey for that cool moment 🔥
Absolutely awesome!
I'm currently waiting for the behind the scenes of this one just to have a glimpse at how big was the tree of videos for all those probable outcomes.
This was awesome! I didn’t play honestly, I wanted the entertainment and did it deliver. Thanks for the rabbit hole! Hoping you post a video with the full tree or a playlist with all the videos that you made for this. I’m sure it took some time!
I love his energy throughout the game
I haven’t been this engaged in a UA-cam video in a long time. You always hit it out of the park
Great video! I was trying to keep track of all the endings, i cant imagine how difficult it was to make this.
A new video?! This has made my week, fortnight, month, quarter, and any other way of measuring time!! Thank you so much!!!!
After over 2 dozen attempts, I made it to the end... but failed the next challenge halfway through. In my grief, I cheated to see what was next. Although I reached it with dishonest means, it was a beautiful sight nonetheless.
I didn't make it very far, but that's because I read into your mindgames a little *too* much. Well played, Mr. Grey. Thank you for the game.
This was fun! I lost, but what a cool set up.
This was actually very very fun. I can barely imagine the amount of work involved though
Got to 1/12000 and then failed, that was super fun! I'll probably go back in just to see what it looks like to have won every single game :)
Thanks
This was a lot of fun! Unfortunately I lost immediately but I can't imagine how much time it took to make all these videos as I went back and watched a lot of them, amazing!
I LOVE THIS, the last video of your message is so fcking powerful
Just want you all to know I’m attempting to map all the choices and Grey is amazing. Id love to see a BTS video going over all the flows
wow i actually got to 59 players left in unlucky and it was honestly uncanny. it felt like you knew what i was gonna play every time and just messed with me.
What an awesome game! It must have taken SO LONG to make this. I failed on the first rounds, but I encourage everyone who fails to cheat their way to the end anyway for an amazing conclusion!
was wondering if it would ruin something or if that would be ok. Like, ok I didn't win but what WOULD happen?
Grey, things like this are why you are my favorite UA-camr, and one of the greatest content creators on the platform. Never stop being so awesome.
True
Sometimes I wonder: "Where's Grey? he's not posted in a while." Then he posts and I'm like "ooooh that's where he was"
Commenting here mostly for engagement purposes and algorithm stuff, great game Grey!
So much work went into this. It's genius.
My my, I love losing on my first try!
After losing I cheated all the way to the end, it was worth it. Amazing videos
As usual, a great video by grey! Thanks, it was really fun playing with you through a video :). didn't get far, but well, that's luck...
Just finished mapping the possibility’s there’s over a 100 videos including several alternate endings
Bit of a Catan teaser sneaking in there at the start!
fun idea, thanks for playing!
So cool! Ive never seen a video like this!
If I leave it a few days and then go back would that count as cheating because I would most likely have forgot all the moves
I made it 7 rounds… I was screaming in my house. Alas, luck was bound to run out.
I went rock every time, just like Bart Simpson did. I should have known how that would end, honestly.
At my summer camp they had us do a rock paper scissors competition. They had one person from each group go up front. They decided it would make sense to have person 1 battle person 2, then that winner battle person 3, etc till there was an ultimate champion. I still get mad thinking about it to this day.
1 in 1000/1 ! idc if I'm not 1 in 1000000, I got my certificate! Idk why that was such a thrill but I was INVESTED!
I'm "the most unlucky anti lucky possible player". Mhh did I just witness the opposite feeling of what this game was supposed to give me ? 😂
2:15 for when the game starts.
(I'm gonna go prepare myself and then come back to play😉)
Now im curious how many videos you actually did make for this. Awesome work!
@1:47 is that Frodos sword?
Hope you get to a million soon!!
This was awesome!
Genuinely had fun though I did have to take the video off my TV to play :)
This was so much fun. Only made the 40k club but still great fun!
You crazy human... have all my respect for doing this 🎩
I didn't win but god this was fun! I just had to send it to a few of my friends
Used a random number generator and won once, lost once, won again, and lost again.
I’m going to come back this in a year or when this reaches 2 mill so I can see all the paths
Already lost dang
How do you handle a draw? Because I got mostly draws...
Draws also count as a loss. Math works out that 13 consecutive wins of 1/3 odds is about 1 in a million. To maintain 1/3 odds you have to treat draws as losses
Losing was very fun. Thanks Grey!
I think this is my new favorite grey video
didn't win, but it was still incredibly fun
You guys i went to the end and it was beautiful 🥹🥹🥹 though it was not honest win. I hope one day in future someone will be there 🥺
Definitely wasn't the 1 in a million, but I'm stoked to have played!
This is so awesome. I lost on my first round lol and I still loved it!
oh my gosh how many paths are there
Last video with 58K views is kinda sus 😂 I apologize for stats being ruined, we just had to see it all 😅😅 amazing project nonetheless
I lost first round, my oldest daughter lost 3rd round, my youngest daughter lost 1st round.
at first i was like: damn only 3 min greys video this time😔
but then i was like: yooo this kind of concept is crazy fun
There are 1 Million views, which means there is one lucky guy among us…
Ok wow. This must have taken a ton of effort to make.
I didn't win but this was tons of fun CGP.
one of the best games ever
it was a short journey for me but still a fun one
I love you man, this was amazing to play, like actually, it was so much fun.
