Agreed, and I thought that's what he was going to go for. Especially given enough examples, human personality will inevitably CREATE a theme. A solid chunk of all relationships is shared interest in topics, or interest in someone else's interest in a topic, stuff like that. Para-social relationships can work the same way, and they sort of do here. We like Grey because we like the stuff he likes, or we like to see him present information because his personality jives with us. Maybe we like his presentation style, maybe we enjoy watching him talk about stuff he enjoys because his enthusiasm comes out, maybe we like the stuff he talks about and want to learn more, or maybe we never would have even given a certain topic much thought if he hadn't talked about it. Whatever the reason is it's all tied together. Grey is going with the most organic, natural theme of all.
It was an emotional slap to hear Grey's voice break for a moment. Hearing such emotion in someone who you expect to always have a calm, mildly amused voice is quite moving.

Hey Grey. Just wanted to say hi, as a young-ish person who watched and listened to your content for the better part of my life. I can't say anything cheesy like "my life is completely different thanks to you". however I do think some of your thoughts influenced decisions I made for the better, and I wanted to say thanks for that.
I remember being in 7th grade and watching the jury nullification video in the locker room of my gym class. I didn’t have headphones with me and I didn’t want people to make fun of me for being a nerd so I put it on volume 2 on my IPod touch and alternately held the video up to my ear or watched subtitles. I didn’t have an awful highschool or middle school, but I think it would’ve been worse without Grey. Thank you
I'm 18 now, and it's not an overstatement to say that you've influenciated my way of thinking and perceiving the world throughout this decade. Hi, and happy ten years.
Grey has got to be one of the best creators on this platform. No nonsense, no filler, not a dull moment and as demonstrated in the Tekoi Trilogy, he *readily admits when he is wrong* (the importance of which is not to be understated). Every video made with care and a clear passion for even the most obscure of topics. Watching through a lot of his videos, every video is distinct, the only truly common threads being Grey’s fantastic presentation style, and the consistently spectacular quality. When a new Grey video drops, it is consistently the highlight of my *week.* Hats off to Grey and the team!

I also remember showing it to my brother, and we have since watched all your videos. Your videos have often sparked really interesting topics of conversation for me and my friends. I am grateful.
I started watching you when I was 9. I’m 19 now. To say you made a difference in my life would be an understatement. You’ve helped me through the highs and lows and for that, I thank you.
Hi, I'm a teen who has been watching your channel for the majority of my life. I'm 19, and you were among the first education youtubers I found. Been here for 10 years, hope to see many more.
After hearing that 1 million times i do not want to remember it, every morning before going to school. Watch wild Kratos *...viewers like you, thank you* *...viewers like you, thank you* *....viewers like you, thank you* .
"Viewers like you" is actually PBS policy; it must be in every funding credit -- though they want it first, and I tend to think it goes better last, myself...
I love how teacher Grey is wearing a tie. In a previous QnA he was really adamant about how he spent his entire life trying to finagle his way out of wearing a tie ever
As a teacher, I'm putting lava lamps on my to-buy list. It's great to hear that there are little things that can help in surprisingly big ways, like a UA-camr who's helped a guy through ten years of his life until he became a teacher.
I'm 17 and I've watched your channel most of my adolescence past about elementary school. I've gotten a lot of wisdom and interesting facts as well as comfort from your channel. When you said once you didn't want minors to donate to your channel that was guilt relieving and perspective changing in a way that I find to be very responsible and kind of you to think about.
I actually did notice a spike in quality after the statue Of Liberty video. Just didn't want to say anything since it would got buried or gotten burned.
As a math teacher, I don't really want my students to look me in the eye; I want them to look at what I'm pointing to on the board. If occasionally I just stand up and talk without anything on the board to point at, then I wave my arms around, and if there's anything worth looking at at that time, then it's probably my hands.
I’m turning 20 this month Grey, and I found you back in the voting in the animal kingdom days! There’s really no way to adequately convey just how massive of an impact you had on my life, but I have to at least try. I’m currently studying mechanical engineering at my dream university, and a massive part of that can be credited to you. Thank you for being such an amazing part of my life, and keep being you!
Really really glad someone else understands the struggle of teachers demanding you to stare them down for 90 minutes each day. Most lectures are visually uninteresting - you really don't have to look at the teacher the whole time in order to pay attention. Glad you took that into consideration when teaching.
I agree completly. As a more personal story I tend to stare around when I am taking tests, not to cheat but to simply get a new perspective of the room. One time a teacher almost reported me for cheating.
Nothing more than "Thank you for everything internet, thank you for my whole life" could convey how much this journey meant to grey and how big a portion of his life it occupied. Thank you too grey! Love from a viewer far across the ocean.
I could cry when looking at my like dislike ratio. I have so many jealous people that my videos always get way more dislikes than likes. Please don't be jealous, dear dean
my response to seeing the thumbnail: "damn ten years!? Well I have been watching this channel since I was a kid." congrats on sticking with it, and thank you!
Grey's community and fanbase is truly wholesome. To be able to support him in such a way that sponsorships dont have to be an option for him. So thank you, everyone
That thank you at the end really tugged the heart strings, thank you for the last 10 years Grey, you’ve improved my life and others more than you could imagine.
I've honestly thought about writing a mathematical paper on getting rid of not only pennies, but nickels, too. The elimination of a nickel only loses 0.05 and 0.15, every other breakpoint can be acquired by quarters so I don't think nickels are worth managing for two small breakpoints.
I'm just over 20 years old, so I've been watching your content for just under the majority of my life. It will roll over to being the majority before the 11-year anniversary of your first youtube video.
Right in the feels at the end. The only UA-cam channel I’ve ever actually sponsored and never had a second thought about it. Love this content. I had to stop due to changes in circumstances but will be signing up again when I can!
Even though I’ve had multiple UA-cam accounts, across all my accounts, I’ve been subscribed for 8 years. My entire young adult life is marked by CGP Grey
The teenager question was something even I hadn't considered! I live in Mexico, and I have to say that your English (yes, the language) and the manner you (at the very least present yourself to) analyze the world has been a huge influence on my life. I started watching you when I was 11 and am now 18, yet, until I saw that question did I realize how big an impact your videos have had on me. I wish you, your wife, and (maybe your neighbours dog) an amazing life, cheers! :)

I came here and did not expect to shed a tear at the end. And... "Hi!"
That was some strange sentimentality coming from a robot.
at least you passed the turing test
¡Gracias!
I started watching you when I was 9. I’m 19 now. To say you made a difference in my life would be an understatement. You’ve helped me through the highs and lows and for that, I thank you.
What are you doing now?
Hi, I'm a teen who has been watching your channel for the majority of my life. I'm 19, and you were among the first education youtubers I found. Been here for 10 years, hope to see many more.

I never expected to cry at the end of a "Fun Q&A" video by cgp grey, but here we are.
that being said, I think I'll stay for another ten years.
The kids who had Grey as a teacher were the luckiest people ever.
The ending remimdes me of pbs kids when they say "this program is possible because of contributions to your pbs station by viewers like you. Thank you
After hearing that 1 million times i do not want to remember it, every morning before going to school. Watch wild Kratos *...viewers like you, thank you* *...viewers like you, thank you* *....viewers like you, thank you* .
"Viewers like you" is actually PBS policy; it must be in every funding credit -- though they want it first, and I tend to think it goes better last, myself...
@@ussinussinongawd516 wild kratos?
Didn’t feel emotional until that ending, congrats in the 10 years!
This is probably one of the most educational channels on youtube, I learned more from here than the entire year spent in quarantine.
haha first
jk last
You mean two weeks to flatten the curve right ?
@@xDemos13 XD
@@xDemos13 You are correct, if you are talking about the global economy.
Thanks
I love how teacher Grey is wearing a tie. In a previous QnA he was really adamant about how he spent his entire life trying to finagle his way out of wearing a tie ever
As a teacher, I'm putting lava lamps on my to-buy list. It's great to hear that there are little things that can help in surprisingly big ways, like a UA-camr who's helped a guy through ten years of his life until he became a teacher.
You sound like a great teacher
One of those teens that watched most of their life. I'm 20 now and I've been watching since very early Grey. So, hello.
3:22 I feel this so much! I think in the long run you're going to be a lot more happy making your own path anyway.
I actually did notice a spike in quality after the statue Of Liberty video. Just didn't want to say anything since it would got buried or gotten burned.
As someone with autism I wish my teachers let me not look them in the eye! You're a great teacher
As a math teacher, I don't really want my students to look me in the eye; I want them to look at what I'm pointing to on the board. If occasionally I just stand up and talk without anything on the board to point at, then I wave my arms around, and if there's anything worth looking at at that time, then it's probably my hands.
Eye contact is very scary 0-0
Same!
This!!
Same!! I have adhd and my hands always need to be busy so my teachers would always scold me for drawing in class
Thanks!
You can hear the emotions in his voice, when he says thank you
When UA-cam recommends this, it’ll be 10 years from now.
Ahhh almost ditto
Same, 19 rn and I'd say I found the channel when "Copyright: Forever less one day" went out.
I actually started watching video when I came across your UK video and now I'm also doing UA-cam.
The internet did something positive. Hold onto that feeling.
Here's to another 10 years, may they be better years.
Nothing more than "Thank you for everything internet, thank you for my whole life" could convey how much this journey meant to grey and how big a portion of his life it occupied.
Thank you too grey! Love from a viewer far across the ocean.
Danke!
I’m 20 now, grey has been a constant in my life since I was a preteen.
Same here :’) I remember when I was 11 or 12 and checking Grey’s channel everyday for a new video because I didn’t know how subscribing worked haha
Im not wearing my glasses, so I thought for sure you said he has been a CROISSANT in your life....
Cannot remember when i first started watching his content but it very much feels like a large portion of my 17 years on this planet
I feel like there is another "era break" here: The Tekoi Incident
Even more after hearing about the incident on Cortex and Grey going crazy about note taking

I'm going to "borrow" that if you don't see a problem

I wrote an argumentative essay on getting rid of pennies for college because you inspired me. I got an A, only lost 5 points. I hope I made you proud.
I did a project on voting reform for the same reason!
I've honestly thought about writing a mathematical paper on getting rid of not only pennies, but nickels, too. The elimination of a nickel only loses 0.05 and 0.15, every other breakpoint can be acquired by quarters so I don't think nickels are worth managing for two small breakpoints.
Where do we send in our questions for the next Q&A video ten years from now?
He gets them from a redit page.
This question is genius and the answer is perfect
I laugh
A lot
how about we leave them here
I wonder if he knows about his UA-camr fans, specifically Barby from Geography Now
Sorry, submissions for that Q&A closed yesterday.
Damn dude that "thank you for my whole life" hit me.
I really be crying hearing that ajdjsjdjdj
That was a wonderful moment ☺
Uh that "Thank you" came right from his heart
*Looks at diagram. "A heart? Did you put that in there? The Grey-bot model isn't supposed to come with one of those."

Can we all appreciate how well animated the lava lamp was
Bedankt
I'm just over 20 years old, so I've been watching your content for just under the majority of my life. It will roll over to being the majority before the 11-year anniversary of your first youtube video.
He is one of the best for sure
Same here! We’ve grown and matured under him.
I've been watching for 8 of my 19 years on this earth. Not quite half, but still significant
Damn, beat me out. I’m at 7 of 18.

Right in the feels at the end. The only UA-cam channel I’ve ever actually sponsored and never had a second thought about it. Love this content. I had to stop due to changes in circumstances but will be signing up again when I can!
Thanks for the great content grey, always delighted to see your videos
Even though I’ve had multiple UA-cam accounts, across all my accounts, I’ve been subscribed for 8 years. My entire young adult life is marked by CGP Grey
It was such a sudden tearjerker at the end! I cried. And it felt so nice... Thank you as well man :)
That lava lamp actually did help lol, i was staring at it randomly
You're welcome 😉
I didnt even noticed it
Love the last few seconds of your videos.
It gives a moment to reflect on the vastness of the contents you make us explore
Thank you.
Well I’m 21 and I’ve been watching since I was 12, so that’s close to half my life
