Saw these guys live a few months ago. The saxophone moments were amazing and the biggest crowd pleaser. They make it work well and incorporate it even more live. Their previous album, Where Owls Know My Name was their first one using the saxophone and was widely considered the best metal album of that year. You need to check out the tracks, Where Owls Know My Name, The Silent Life, and their most progressive track, Subtle Change.

I liked this song but I thought this album was terrible. I only liked a couple of songs and I had to skip the rest, I really hope they don't continue in this direction.
Where Owls Know My Name and Monarchy are fantastic albums from start to finish, I was very disappointed when The Work was released and I know a lot of other fans were disappointed as well. They need to go back to the drawing board and stick to what they do best.

Some of you older folks here and/or old soul young-uns, tell me that saxophone didn't give you some Pink Floyd or 80s music vibes! That's very unique for a metal band to incorporate and, if they're not the only, they're in an extremely small number of ones who do! Awesome job as always fellers!

Shining's Blackjazz album. Singer is a sax player. He also plays sax on a few of Ihsahn's solo tracks. There was a band from the golden era of metalcore (when Dillinger were only on their second album and Isis were still thought of in that same sphere) called Yakuza who had a sax player.

Was overall pretty disappointed with the album this song is from, mostly because its predecessor “where owls know my name” was one of the best metal albums I’ve ever heard. But this song is great and one of the band’s best.
The band is not at all black metal or hardcore. They’re melodic progressive technical death metal (if you want to get super specific 😄)

Hey guys idk if you've reacted to "Right where it belongs" by NIN but if not I'd love to see it. That and "Only" are my fav NIN songs. "Right where It belongs" is so pleasing to the senses you guys will love it! The lyrics are thought provoking, exestential, and well spoken/sung; the music composed masterfully (make sure you have really good surround in your headphones and crank it. Its like standing in front of an electronic orchestra); and it stirs the soul with the finished masterpiece.
Oh and I believe it is Nihil (pronounced Nile). Not 100% sure but feeling confident in the pronunciation of the words Nihilist Nihilism Nihilistic. I perceive it as "the river of apathy and indifference"
