  • Buying the right tools isn't always easy. These are the 7 best tools I don't regret buying. If I could go back and buy the right tool the first time, I would buy these sooner. While sadly I can't, hopefully this prevents you from making some of the same mistakes I did when it comes to tools. Some of these tools may work well for you if you're in a different industry, this is just my opinion from my experience.

    It's crazy, I'm 65 and have a drawer of pliers and just got a pair of Knipex and cannot believe how good they are. Just love using them so versatile. Love them so much got a small pair one smooth, one with teeth and added a small light and combo driver in pouch and keep it in my truck door pocket and use it all the time. Never thought I would spend that much on pliers but they will outlast me!

    Those adjustable knippex plier wrenches are also super useful as a mini press when you need to push something in a certain amount with even pressure. I use mine for scotchlok splices and pushing in threaded inserts.

    I tend to lean towards the beeping voltage detector, because you can use it to trace or to tell when the breaker that you are flipping off is the one you need for that circuit.

    Those pliers wrenches are honestly my first grabbers for holding and loosening some fasteners. I do have the Knipex auto cobras but that’s more for serious loosening due to their bite force. Any time I’m doing hydraulics or pneumatic work, my pliers wrenches are there for the job.

    Pen testers need audible beeping so you can test from a distance or another room (if Resi). A vibrating pen tester is useless on a jobsite where there's a ton of machinery vibrating the area. But that's my take on what a pen tester should give a sparky

    If just cut some small conduit or strut, I like 5 1/2 in metal cutting circular saw much better than compact band saw. It’s a little louder, however metal cutting circular saw is faster and better balanced so you can easily hold by one hand. Plus, if the circular saw is able to cut metal, it’s definitely able to cut wood. As an electrician, Every once a while, I need to make a few cut on 2*4 or plywood.

    Alway enjoy the videos man!
    Do you think you can do a video on improving work speed, while maintaining quality of work? Im 21 years old and have been in the maritime electrical field for 6 months (right out of trade school). I have noticed and been told that I just take too long on some electrical projects. I have some great tools that help my pace but I also can be really picky about getting things as close to perfect and by the book as I can. I know I’m green and some of that comes with time but could you do a video on advice for working faster while maintaining quality? Thanks man keep up the great videos.

    Great video we have alot of the same tools for being in different trades (HVAC). Ive got multiple vetos, bought the fluke 378fc wirh field sense this passed summer and love it. Have you tried the m12 fuel bandzaw? I have it and the largest m18 fuel. But the m12 fuel is a one handed monster that will cut 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" and weighs less plus more compact. For overhead its a game changer for sure. Ive been on the fen e since the wera pocket was released because it only has magnets. Have you ever had a bit and or socket pull out/ off during removing it from a fastener after use?

      Just saw a video on the m12 fuel bandsaw. Great saw, almost don't need the m18 compact when the m12 has 2 5/8" cutting capacity. I've used the m18 compact and it's still heavy with one hand.

      @calebcrockett1085 Yeah, I don't have much experience with a bandsaw, but it was hard to hold the compact m18 and hold unistrut at the same time. Most of the time, my cuts were crooked, and at that point, I'd rather cut it with a hackzall. 🤣

    If we are to pronounce it "kuh-nip-x", then we should say "ve-ra" instead or "wera" or even call Japan "ni-hon". I've never understood why some words are expected to be spoken as though you were speaking the native language where the word originated but then don't do that with pretty much every other word. Just a thought as I find it funny how the pronunciation of Knipex always get's spoken about lol

    • @JesusPerez-yc6yu
      @JesusPerez-yc6yu 6 місяців тому +1

      It's because names don't follow English rules. Kuhnipex is how they said it was pronounced so that's how it is. The same way the girl named ABCD was pronounced AB-Se-Di.

    • @ImLeeBee
      @ImLeeBee 6 місяців тому +1

      Yes they do, when spoken in English. We don't pronounce Sony or Samsung with Japanese or Korean pronunciation and if we did, it would be seen as mocking. That's kind of how it works, you don't really get to dictate how people say your name in their native tongue as some languages use completely different sounds that feel unnatural for others to speak without forcing it@@JesusPerez-yc6yu

    • @CreachterZ
      @CreachterZ 6 місяців тому +3

      It’s because Knipex Corporate has a video on this pronunciation and they specifically say that in the English market it should be pronounced with the hard k.
      Hard to argue with the manufacturer.

    • @ImLeeBee
      @ImLeeBee 6 місяців тому

      It's easy to argue with them, again, nobody get's to dictate how a word is spoken in a different language. That's how they'd like it to be spoken, for the sake of brand consistency, but that's all it is. They're a tool company and they make great tools, they're not linguists.
      Here's an example. If I were in Japan and somebody asked me my name, I would say "Lee" and they would likely respond with something like "Ree" to which I'd be an arrogant prick to try and force them to pronounce it the way I do when their way of speaking doesn't even use the same sounds in the same ways@@CreachterZ
