Whoever thought that we would enjoy watching someone talk into a camera about her knitting? You are right that it is like having friends listening to us but with no interruptions.🤣🤣I am helping my sister with my nephews back yard wedding at their house this weekend. Lots of work. We are doing some of the food too. Always a joy to watch you.
RIGHT?!?! I love watching knitting podcasts a lot 🧶🧶 I hope the wedding goes well this weekend. They are a lot of work, but the most economical way to get a lovely wedding day for them...fingers crossed!!
“A little tipsy and no notes” seems like the perfect formula for a knitting chat! Love all the socks. Here in the California Gold Country we have had 15 days of temperatures over 100 degrees F! No energy for me! I just spend the day knitting, reading, and snacking. Today is slightly cooler but the thought of knitting on anything other than socks is unbearable. I love the “potential nex design” for socks that you are working on looks fabulous. Can’t wait for it come to fruition. Take the time to enjoy Samatha’s wedding! We’ll wait for you - and hear all about it when you have the time and inclination. Take care. Enjoy the festivites with family and friends! Until next time. Salam wa sa’aadah
LOL!!! I was a little worried when I started editing that it might have been a mistake to record, but luckily it was OK 😆😆 That is crazy hot with no relief! We had some very humid weather which is also unpleasant, but it only lasted about 10 days. The wedding was slap bang in the middle of the steamy days, bit it was beautiful and Sam was happy, so my Mum heart was relieved and thrilled. I'm hoping to record this weekend, so I will see you soon. Thank you Linda 💕
A wonderful video. I loved all the views of Halifax and well as seeing all your gorgeous projects. Although I don't spin I can appreciate your love for the yarns you produce. Enjoy the Sam's wedding and make the most of the time spent with family. 🎉 Trusting that the celebrations for your company also go well. Keep knitting! 🇬🇧
Thank you fir visiting with your knitting friends before the big event. A very interesting episode, as usual. Love you skip, slip knit socks. Thanks for sharing.
Love this wine-impaired-no-notes Nancy! Your Summer top in the kingfisher blue looks beautiful on you. Thanks for sharing your blocking process and tips. Congrats on your daughter’s wedding!
I have to admit that I was a bit nervous to edit in case it was a 💩 show 😆😆 Thankfully, it wasn't too bad...phew! 1 week to wedding day and it's my last day at the day job, so now we get busy 💖
Nancy, Love your spinning, its beautiful! all your stuff is great! Thank you for sharing. Hope you have a wonderful time at the wedding and congratulations to your daughter and family!! so exciting, can't wait to see the pictures. (amazing you are starting projects before the wedding! WOW you are good!)
Thank you Mary 💕 I'm still chugging along with the purple and yellow spin and it's so pretty 💜💛 The wedding was beautiful and I have some gorgeous pictures of Sam and Rob ❣️
Nancy-You had me laugh out loud when you said, Must knit faster. I was thinking the same thing as I knit along with this episode. Thanks for taking the time to record. Always enjoy watching when you upload a new one. Best wishes (Margaret-My Wonderful Knitting Life podcast).
Thank you❣️❣️ You'll be going on my queue this weekend! I just found you on Instagram from Sophie. Then I'm finally catching up with my comments and here you are 🤓
Hi Nancy, congratulations to the winner. Beautiful socks and love the vest too. Wishing Samantha all the best on her wedding day and you all have a wonderful time. Hugs ❤❤❤

I have only just found your channel and I felt an immediate connection. So I’m going back to the beginning and watching them all. I’ve learnt a few things, even though I’ve been knitting for decades 👵🏻. Thanks for sharing your beautiful projects and especially the modifications - very handy. Hi 👋 from Down Under 🇦🇺. Cheers 🍷
Hello from Up north 👋👋 Thank you for saying hello and spending some time with me 💕 It's one of the best things about watching podcasts...the tips and tricks from other knitters!! Happy knitting 🧶
I love how you knit your Coastal Hint of Summer in the A line. I did it as you suggested to me in a previous podcast and it looks much better than a straight line. I love all of your yarn choices. Your socks are really WOW! I am still struggling with that as I often pick yarn, that once knit up, doesn't look the way I envisioned. Oh well, a great excuse to keep on knitting and trying new things. Your spinning is great. I have to spin faster as I have so much fleece to get through. You can always make rolags from your batts if you wish to keep the fleece. Just a suggestion. Enjoy the rest of your summer and congratulations on your daughter's wedding!
A-line is just the best!!! I'm glad you're finding it useful for you 🤓 There just isn't enough time for all of our crafting is there?!?! Thanks for the batt suggestions...they are just hibernating in my stash for now. Thanks for visiting with me 💕
Wonderful catching up with your knitting plans & projects this morning on a damp winter day here in NZ. Enjoy making memories of all that will be involved in Sam's wedding. Looking forward to seeing the pictures. Congratulations on 5,000 followers of your fun podcast. Barbara (NZ)
Tipsy Nancy is even sassier than Sipping Nancy! Loved it! It's just like visiting with a knitting friend... thanks for sharing all your fun. I'm always inspired! And can't wait to hear all about the wedding... I know you'll be so excited to see your lovely daughter happily settled. It's such a blessing. Enjoy!
LOL!! I'm not going to lie...I was worried that it was going to be a 💩 show. Thankfully when I edited, it was OK...phew! I will have an obnoxiously large amount of pictures next time I come for a visit 🤓 And yes, I can't wait to see her in her dress, relaxed and happy 🥰
Happy Belated Anniversary! Hope you have an amazing time as Mother of the Bride and the day will be enjoyed by all. I think we all feel the same way when you podcast, sitting and chatting to a good friend. I will look for Deborah, Yarn Indulgences, at KC Calgary. I do hope to pick up some of her lovely yarns!
Thanks so much Helen❣️ I am looking forward to recording this weekend...I've missed coming for a chat 🤓 It was a beautiful and busy day and Sam was happy with her day, so it was all worth it 🥰 Knit City looked fabulous...hopefully I'll be there next time 🧶🧶
Thanks for hanging out with me 💖 I'm already planning a little something that I can knit later at the wedding reception 😬🤓 Just for a little "aaaaahhhhh" moment
Great podcast- you always inspire me to open a bottle of wine. The blue sweater is absolutely beautiful and a perfect fit. Looking forward to Fall and that new sock design. It looks great so far.
Then I did my job 🤓 A lovely glass of wine and some knitting is perfection 👌 The new sock is misbehaving a little. I now have 3 more versions on the needles 😆
Such an enjoyable catch up Nancy! Love your Hint of Summer and the Edie, the pattern queue grows! 😂 Best wishes on the wedding preparations, look forward to hearing all about the big day. 🧶Cher
I loved this podcast so much Nancy!! Enjoy the wedding .. every moment !! Excited to see the pictures , you will make a lovely “Mother of the Bride” !! Happy knitting it is the best thing and helps to get us through the “craziness “ for sure 💕🧦
Thank you Rosemary 🌸 It's such a joy to come and have a chat and it's hard to explain to people in my real life why we like hanging out with knitters on the internet 🤓
Nancy when I spin a batt i always diz them first, as I found I couldn't get any consistency by just stripping down the batt. Thank you for sharing your beautiful knits , it is always a joy to chat with you while I had my morning coffee.
Thanks for that recommendation...I'm going to have to get a diz to give this a try. I'll keep an eye out at the fibre festivals this autumn. Happy knitting 🧶
@@knitsiphappy Nancy I just used a large button as I am still looking for a diz and it worked fine maybe the hole was a bit to large so I still had to do some drafting while spinning but it was a much better end result and a more relaxing spin
I have got to stop thinking of Canada as “the wild frontier” lol Halifax is glorious and a really decent sized city as well! Wishing you ALL of the lucks for wedding doo-dads, odds n ends, this’ n that’s!
I think it's a lot like the US...You can be in the wild pretty quickly when you get out of major centre's and suburbs. Halifax is lovely 🌊 Thanks for the well wishes 💕 Just need to keep Sam on an even keel 🙃
Thanks Ellen❣️ I've had to shelve that one for the moment because I can only get the math to work on a 64 stitch 😲 I'm pondering to see if I can adjust it for 56 and 72....stay tuned 🤓
Thank you so much Sally 🥰 The Holst yarn with the spinning oil is so different from most yarns that we knit with. Thankfully I don't need to do that much for 95% of my knits 🤓🧶
Thanks for the memories! Our son was married a year ago in Halifax. We drove from Golden BC because we don’t fly anymore. Now we’ll have to do it again because we missed the harbour tour. I did visit that yarn store and had a lovely lunch at the pizza place next door. Have a great time at your daughter’s wedding!
I loved watching Tipsy Nancy today!! :) Your Hint of Summer is lovely, and your Laia looks great! I made one of those in Woolstok yarn that I love. Congratulations on 5,000 followers--or friends, really. It sounds like you have some very busy weeks coming up. Enjoy every minute, and I can't wait to see pictures of the wedding!
LOL...I was very worried Saturday evening that it was going to be terrible and I'd need to re-record. I was soooo relieved when I edited it on Sunday morning and it was less of a 💩 show than I expected 😆😆 Thank you 🥰
Tipsy Nancy is fun! If I lived closer to you, I believe we would be fast friends. I love the new design for the sock you showed - life is busy now, but when you get the chance, it looks like a fun sock design😊
Tipsy Nancy had lots of regrets after I turned the camera off 😆 I was a bit worried that I would have to record again, but thankfully it was OK 🤓 I wish we had instant teleportation so that we could just pop in and have a chat, a glass of wine and a knit 🧶🥂
Love all your socks. Have a wonderful time enjoying being the Mother of the Bride!!!! We will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary that day. The time certainly flew by. Have fun!!!
A lovely sit and knit with Nancy time. I learn something new every episode. I am loving the button trick for knitting from both ends of a skein- game changer. I think I will make the Lotus Lake Tee. I made the socks and loved the lace and I want to learn the modified drop shoulder technique, as drop shoulder designs are common, but not the best look on me. I am experimenting with moving some back stitches to the front and really loving the fit improvement. Thanks for all the great tips you so generously share. Have the best of times, despite the craziness that comes along, with your daughter’s wedding. Being the mother of the bride is the best role ever. I am finishing up the Turtle Dove Cardi for my eldest daughter’s 50th next month. Then a summer knit for me- maybe the Agave or the Joni in summer yarn. And of course socks, with Nancy’s rounded toe. 🤗🧶💕
Thanks so much Jennifer 🥰 I love all the hints and tips that we learn and share between each other. I can't recommend the Lotus Lake Tee enough!!! Do you have yarn picked for it already?
Always fun Nancy, great listening to you, you are a fun lady. Happy wedding day, it’ll be a lot of work, so many emotions on the day, and exhaustion after. Belated happy anniversary to you both. Thanks for all the knitting info, tips and tricks that you share. 🥰
Great podcast Nancy! I wish you the happiest times in the upcoming weeks. There’s something special about seeing your daughter getting married…it’s very emotional for sure. So enjoy every moment, even the crazy running around! Looking forward to seeing photos! Have fun!
Thank you Darlene 💕 It was a lovely day and it went by so quickly. I hardly took any pictures and we are impatiently waiting for the photographer to edit and get us more 🤓 I'm hoping to record this weekend, so I will "see" you soon!
Thanks for the tip about George's Island, we'll have to do that next time! Best wishes to you and your family over the next few weeks. Can't wait to hear all about it. I'm off to Gaspe.
Great podcast. Your knitting projects are inspiring. And your hand spun is beautiful. With regards to mad dash deep cleaning when people visit, yes I do that too. Often I don’t eat until I finish.
I thoroughly enjoyed watching another great episode. Halifax looks like a gorgeous place to visit! Happy days-before-the wedding and best wishes for all as you're together with family and friends! May the wedding couple be blessed. 💕
I was so happy to see that you had another video posted today! I love your sun porch. Your yard is beautiful. You're my favorite! That Wild Rose sock set is beautiful! Thank you for sharing how you wash and block your tops. God bless all of your wedding preparations! Your wedding earrings are stunning! I'm already looking forward to your next video. ❤🧶
Hi Nancy: Thank so much for sneaking in another awesome podcast before the event of the year happens, Nancy! Wishing your daughter and her very soon to be hubby all the best for a lifetime of blissful joy and happiness! Don’t worry Nancy, everything will go smooth, awesome, and lovely at the wedding! You are a great planner and manages everything seamlessly and flawlessly! Can’t wait to see all the super fabulous pictures! Thank you for the Halifax pictures! I wish I can see some of the places you show on your podcast in person, but it is very expensive to do so. I love Canada more than the Big Apple. I don’t know what is about Canada, but I would love to relocate to Canada! Happy knitting, have a blast at the wedding, and enjoy the rest of summer! ❤❤
Thank you for your lovely well wishes for the wedding. It will be wonderful!! We just need to get the busy work done this week. I loved to share Halifax because she was definitely at her best when we were visiting 🌊🌞
Nancy...wish you were in my neck of the woods in Ontario. We would have so much fun sipping and knitting . Have a wonderful time at your daughter's wedding....hope everything goes just as planned. Cheers my friend!!🎉😊
@@knitsiphappy Exactly!!!! I live not far away from Galt House of Yarns. One of these days....who knows...if you are ever back this way...maybe we can do a meet up. I watch your podcasts all the time. Love them all!!!
@@knitsiphappy Perfect! I actually live in Kitchener! That would be wonderful. Let me know ahead of time next time you come this way....would love to meet up and share some wine and knit together. 🥂
Hahaha!! I only edited on Sunday morning and was holding my breath that it wasn't a car crash...because tipsy and no notes 😆😆 Luckily, it was OK...phew
Thank you for considering us as friends.. beautiful episode, thank you Nancy..All the best for Samantha 's wedding..looking forward to the wedding photos ❤
Awww lovely to be outside! I hope to be one of those tourists up there some day (but tell them to please lower the prices first 😉). TDF plans: spin. Goal met? Yes, some spinning occurred. 😂Congratulations to the bride and groom and their parents! Stack up the wine and knitting for your recovery (already planned I am betting) 😇.
It was nice, if slightly sweaty 😆 Just don't come in July and the hotels won't be quite as terrible 😬 Well done on the spinning 🚲 I'm still enjoying about an hour of spinning before bed every night, so I'm happy with that as well.
SKYP stitch. In my Mon Tricot knitting dictionary, this is called the"moire stitch". I have used it a lot. The psso is passed over both the knit stitch and the YO, thus keeping the same number of stitches.
Nancy, I just bought 4 of your sock patterns, including Smoke and Swiss Dots. I really like your patterns! I am sad to admit that I am still finishing up the pair of Tittygaga socks that I've been working on for months(?), but my knitting time is severely limited due to tendonitis in my thumb. Congrats and enjoy Samantha's wedding! I have two adult daughters but might never enjoy a wedding. So it goes. :D
Ouch!!! I hope your thumb cooperates and you can get back to pain free knitting. This will be my only wedding...our son and his girlfriend have zero interest in getting married 🤓
Hoping all goes well with the wedding!! Best wishes to Sam and Rob (apologies if that’s not the groom’s name!). Hope you can put your feet up and relax after the big day.
Congratulations on reaching 5000 subscribers! I stumbled upon your channel about a year ago and it immediately went on my “must watch every episode” list. Not only are you knitting the kind of things I want to make but you are a fellow east coaster too. Watching from Halifax :)
@@knitsiphappyI don’t currently attend a knit night since I only know a couple of knitters. But I’m hoping that will change as I meet more people at festivals!
Your spinning is stunning! I am in awe of how even the colors are... do you draft evenly across the fiber end, or do you separate the colors first? Enjoyable episode today... please enjoy everything you have coming up! Give my best to the bride and groom!
Thank you Carol 🥰 It depends on the fibre...I usually strip it into longer, skinnier pieces, but I'm not terribly precise with my spinning 😉 And thanks for the well wishes 💕
Isn't it funny how quickly people become converts to hand knit socks? My nephew's best friend saw his, tried them on and took a pair home. I always say the are twin sons of different mothers. I now knit them matching pairs for Christmas each year.
Hi Judith 👋 The yarn for Hint of Summer is Holst from Denmark and still has the spinning oil in it, so it needs warm water and lots of soap. Thanks for spending some time with me 💕
Haha!! Thanks for the suggestion but I'm not a fan of tea either hot or cold. The wedding was beautiful and Sam was very happy, so my Mum heart was full ❤️
Happy wedding times!! Looking forward to hearing about it. Love Galt House of Yarn. So, I feel the same about batts. Have you tried turning the batts into rolags? I used my blending board and just put it on, rolled it off and woohoo it was great to spin. Took no time at all.
I've only done one multi colour project and I didn't have an issue but I only used Luke warm water and colour catchers. The cooler water requires quite a few more washes to remove the spinning oil.
What kind of needles do you use when knitting with the line yarn? I’m knitting a tank top with it using chiagoo needles but it seems like it’s going very slow. Like the yarn is hanging up. I have to slide the yarn to the tip of needles every few stitches to keep it from hanging up.
I used my interchangeable Zing set, but I will try my chiagoo set when I cast on my Lotus Lake. If you are using an interchangeable needles, you can use a smaller size tip on the left hand needle. That will help the stitches slide
I haven't tried that and I was also told that a diz may help. I will have to try these options out over the winter when life is not so busy. Thanks for the suggestion ❣️
A couple of other lovely Spinners have recommended a diz, so I will be shopping for one at the fibre festivals this autumn. Thanks ❣️ I wouldn't have thought that would make a difference
It's a good point Mara! I bought this year's ago in a good sale when the Canadian dollar didn't suck. It was super popular on podcasts and I wanted to try it. I won't be buying it again, but I still have some in my stash that I'm using up 🤓
You weren't blabbing on for no reason. I enjoy listening to you. It's like sitting, having a coffee with a friend. Are you doing all the food for the wedding? I just let my son and lovely daughter-in-law do their own thing for their wedding and it was lovely. They were both very organized and it was lovely. I was in a bit of a fashion/dress shopping funk unfortunately as I had gained a lot of weight (and mostly because my mom had passed away about a year before and would miss it all. Something she desperately wanted to see), and left dress shopping for the last minute (literally 2 weeks before the wedding). There really wasn't anything I liked that suited my autumn colouring at all since the wedding was August first. I did manage to find a lovely deep purple slip dress with a matching beaded kimono style jacket for an exorbitant amount of money, so I sucked it up and bought it since it was my own fault I hadn't found anything. It was too big in the shoulders, so my lovely friend took it in for me, and I felt quite beautiful for the wedding. It was really foolish of me that it didn't occur to me that I could have sewn up something gorgeous. I can sew beautifully, but hadn't for a few years. I hope everything goes well for your son's wedding.
I do love coming for a chat and it's so nice to know that you're there hanging out with me 💖 We are doing the food for the wedding, but we're keeping it pretty simple with a build your own sandwich bar, salads and chips. The dress was definitely more of an issue than I expected, but I didn't want anything too Mother of the Bride. I found a couple of options online and thankfully loved one of them. I will have an obnoxiously large amount of pictures next time I come for a visit 🤓 Happy knitting 🧶
@@knitsiphappy I'm looking forward to seeing them. I don't have any weddings upcoming for a very long time, so I have to live through everyone else's photos.
Love each and every one of your videos! I looked up the Hint of Summer pattern and alas it is no longer free - it’s $9.21Cdn now…. Still might be worth it! 🧶🧶🧶
So sorry for my mistake on Hint of Summer Brenda 😬🙄 Not to dissuade you from Hint of Summer, but she has lots of v-neck patterns in different gauges. I would recommend grabbing one of her sport weight patterns because you could knit it at a fingering or dk weight as well, so it would be super flexible 😉
I won! Thank you, Nancy! ❤
You did!! Congratulations 🎊

As always a great podcast Nancy...enjoy the wedding and I cant wait to see the pics ..🥰 Happy sipping🍷
Thanks so much Beverley 💕 I will have an obnoxiously large number of pictures 😆
I loved this podcast so much Nancy!! Enjoy the wedding .. every moment !! Excited to see the pictures , you will make a lovely “Mother of the Bride” !! Happy knitting it is the best thing and helps to get us through the “craziness “ for sure 💕🧦
Thank you Chrystal 💕 It was crazy but lovely and beautiful all at the same time!
And we love spending time with you! Thanks! And I’m sending the best wishes for your daughter, your entire family, for a wonderful wedding! 58:35
@@bubba6381 I need to do some googling because I really have no idea what a diz really looks like 🤓
Good luck with your wedding. LOVE watching your podcast and sock patterns.
Thanks so much Annette 💕 It was a lovely day, but super busy...I'll be back soon and tell you all about it 🤓
Thank you, this is definitely one podcast i look forward to everytime you post. ❤❤❤
Well...that is just so kind of you to say 🥰 I love coming to have a chat. Thanks Michelle 💕
Halifax is lovely 🌊
Thanks for the well wishes 💕 Just need to keep Sam on an even keel 🙃
Thanks for taking the time and putting together yet another wonderful episode despite being crazy busy. Enjoy the Wedding and all the celebrations.
I can't help myself...I love coming for a chat 😆 Thank you...We are 1 week away from the big Day, so now we get busy❣️❣️
Felici design lovely...can't wait.
Thanks Ellen❣️ I've had to shelve that one for the moment because I can only get the math to work on a 64 stitch 😲 I'm pondering to see if I can adjust it for 56 and 72....stay tuned 🤓
Having just returned from a train trip across the country and ending in Halifax, it was great to see the footageof the harbour. Loved the place.
Oh that sounds very civilized! I'd love to do that some day 🤓
I adore your podcasts. Found you by accident and it’s very cool that you showed us the soaking process
Thank you so much Sally 🥰 The Holst yarn with the spinning oil is so different from most yarns that we knit with. Thankfully I don't need to do that much for 95% of my knits 🤓🧶
Love the Laia! Beautiful yarn and lace pattern❤
It will be so lovely to wear next summer, but I haven't touched it in weeks 😐 It's time for fall and winter woolies now, I think
Thanks for another great video Nancy!
It's a pleasure to come and have a chat 🤓 I'll finally be back this weekend 🎉
Thanks for the memories! Our son was married a year ago in Halifax. We drove from Golden BC because we don’t fly anymore. Now we’ll have to do it again because we missed the harbour tour. I did visit that yarn store and had a lovely lunch at the pizza place next door. Have a great time at your daughter’s wedding!
That's a great pizza spot next door to the yarn store. That's a big drive, but Halifax is so lovely to visit 🌊 Thank you for the wedding wishes 😊
I was soooo relieved when I edited it on Sunday morning and it was less of a 💩 show than I expected 😆😆
Thank you 🥰
Tipsy Nancy is fun!
Have fun!!!
Happy belated anniversary Donna 💕 I hope you had a lovely day together! It was a busy, beautiful day celebrating them and their future together 🥰
This was super cute. And loved seeing my hometown in your video!
Happy *almost* wedding week!
Thanks for spending some time with me ❣️ The Maritimes are just so lovely this time of year 🌊🌞
Always fun Nancy, great listening to you, you are a fun lady. Happy wedding day, it’ll be a lot of work, so many emotions on the day, and exhaustion after. Belated happy anniversary to you both. Thanks for all the knitting info, tips and tricks that you share. 🥰
HA!!! It was all of that, but Sam was beautiful and she was incredibly happy with her day, so mission accomplished!!! Thanks for visiting with me 💕
Great podcast Nancy!
Thanks so much for your time with us. Wishing you a very happy wedding and celebrations.
It's a pleasure to come and have a chat 🤓 Thank you for your well wishes 💕
I’m happy you fit in a podcast amongst the craziness. Tipsy or not, it’s a delight to share time with you. Enjoy everything! Terry
Thank you Terry 🥰 I was rather worried when I started editing that it was going to be a disaster, but luckily I didn't have to record again 🤓
I'd be happy to rehome your batts. I like spinning from batts.
Thanks for the tip about George's Island, we'll have to do that next time!
Best wishes to you and your family over the next few weeks. Can't wait to hear all about it. I'm off to Gaspe.
Enjoy the Gaspe! I've not done that trip yet 🤓 So much to see and do❣️
Great podcast. Your knitting projects are inspiring. And your hand spun is beautiful.
With regards to mad dash deep cleaning when people visit, yes I do that too. Often I don’t eat until I finish.
Nice to know it's not just me 😆😆
I thoroughly enjoyed watching another great episode. Halifax looks like a gorgeous place to visit! Happy days-before-the wedding and best wishes for all as you're together with family and friends! May the wedding couple be blessed. 💕
Halifax was definitely showing us it's best 🌊🌞 Thank you for the wedding wishes 💖
I was so happy to be outside chatting with you 🤓 Aren't those earrings amazing?!? Thanks for being so lovely 💖
@@knitsiphappy You are very welcome!
nancy. wish you were my neighbor. your “tipsy” presentation without official notes was fantastic!
Awww...thank you! I'd love to sit and knit and get tipsy with you 💖
Nancy...wish you were in my neck of the woods in Ontario. We would have so much fun sipping and knitting .
Have a wonderful time at your daughter's wedding....hope everything goes just as planned.
Cheers my friend!!🎉😊
Yes we would Brenda 🥂🍷🧶 Where is Star Trek instant teleportation when you need it?!?!
@@knitsiphappy Exactly!!!!
I live not far away from Galt House of Yarns. One of these days....who knows...if you are ever back this way...maybe we can do a meet up. I watch your podcasts all the time. Love them all!!!
@@brendawagner5608 I try to get to Kitchener every couple of years...so it will happen
@@knitsiphappy Perfect!
I actually live in Kitchener!
That would be wonderful. Let me know ahead of time next time you come this way....would love to meet up and share some wine and knit together. 🥂
That Hint of Summer color looks beautiful on you, thank you for sharing the blocking process - much appreciated. Best wishes for the wedding!
Thank you 💕 The blocking for this Holst yarn is a little more involved than what I normally do 🤓
A little tipsy and no notes, a dangerous combination normally but you are so cheerful and happy we don't care. I love your laugh and your knitting.
Hahaha!! I only edited on Sunday morning and was holding my breath that it wasn't a car crash...because tipsy and no notes 😆😆 Luckily, it was OK...phew
Have a wonderful two weeks, Nancy! I can't wait to see pictures from the wedding: I know it'll be amazing!
Thanks so much Klaske 💖 Hope for some good weather for us 🤞
And we love watching you too Nancy! It’ll be great to hear about the wedding! Enjoy every bit of it!😊
Thanks so much Lee 💕 I'm sure I'll be completely obnoxious 🤓😆
Your tees and vest have me inspired! 😍
Oh...thank you Pam 💖
I don't know how I missed subscribing! I think You Tube must have changed my subscription! Thanks for a great podcast!
Technology always throws us a curve 🙄 😀 Thanks for spending some time with me 💕
Oh Nancy:)). You are such a delight. Wish we were neighbours
Aww...thanks 🥰 I feel the same way. I'd love to knit and sip together 🥂🧶
delightful episode happy knitting to you too🎉❤😂
Thank you Jo-Anne 💕 I'm trying to decide what I can get away knitting on later at at the wedding reception 🤓
Thank you for considering us as friends.. beautiful episode, thank you Nancy..All the best for Samantha 's wedding..looking forward to the wedding photos ❤
It's such a joy coming and having a chat to the camera and then coming back to the comments. I love to see familiar names and continue conversations 🥰
It was nice, if slightly sweaty 😆 Just don't come in July and the hotels won't be quite as terrible 😬
Well done on the spinning 🚲 I'm still enjoying about an hour of spinning before bed every night, so I'm happy with that as well.
SKYP stitch. In my Mon Tricot knitting dictionary, this is called the"moire stitch". I have used it a lot. The psso is passed over both the knit stitch and the YO, thus keeping the same number of stitches.
It's a great little motif
Hi Nancy FYI Isabel Kramer’s tee is now 5.90 Euro on Ravelry.
Love your podcast Diane from Boston
Ugh...so sorry Diane 🙄 I think the tipsy and no notes may have caught up with me 🤓 Thanks for spending some time with me 💕
Hoping all goes well with the wedding!! Best wishes to Sam and Rob (apologies if that’s not the groom’s name!). Hope you can put your feet up and relax after the big day.
Thank you Beverly...he is Rob!! Unfortunately we will hit the ground running with our 20th birthday celebrations the week after the wedding 🤓
Congratulations on reaching 5000 subscribers! I stumbled upon your channel about a year ago and it immediately went on my “must watch every episode” list. Not only are you knitting the kind of things I want to make but you are a fellow east coaster too. Watching from Halifax :)
Thanks so much Brigitte 🌊 Do you go to a knit night in Halifax? I think it would be fun to be able to go when I'm visiting 🤓
Thank you Carol 🥰 It depends on the fibre...I usually strip it into longer, skinnier pieces, but I'm not terribly precise with my spinning 😉
And thanks for the well wishes 💕
Hello from Swansea, Illinois.
Hi Janet 👋 Thanks for spending some time with me 💕
😊❤
🩵🧶🩵
Enjoy the wedding!
We will...thanks Andrea 💖
You convinced me that a glass of wine would be the way to go 🍷
Lol...it's always the way to go 🥂🍷
Isn't it funny how quickly people become converts to hand knit socks? My nephew's best friend saw his, tried them on and took a pair home. I always say the are twin sons of different mothers. I now knit them matching pairs for Christmas each year.
So true Julia❣️❣️ #handknitsocksarethebest 😆
Have lots of fun at your daughters wedding ❤️
Thank you Barbara 😊 We're just hoping for lovely weather 🤞
Did I miss why your Hint of summer soaked in hot water first? I’m curious to why. Loved this episode- actually I love them all😊
Hi Judith 👋 The yarn for Hint of Summer is Holst from Denmark and still has the spinning oil in it, so it needs warm water and lots of soap.
Thanks for spending some time with me 💕
Love the sweater. Im worried about your drinking condition though. Try iced tea when knitting. Have fun at the wedding.
Great idea about the batts...it's all the changes in fibre and chunky bits that I dislike.
@@knitsiphappy so I think that you would still have to deal with the ‘bits’ although in a rolag I find them a bit more manageable
Thanks for sharing your washing process of the holst yarn , have you had some bleeding issues when it is a multi colours garnment ?
@@knitsiphappy I didn’t think about that. Thanks.
Regarding the batts, have you tried creating rolags from the batts? I ended up doing that and it was a game changer.
I haven't tried that and I was also told that a diz may help. I will have to try these options out over the winter when life is not so busy. Thanks for the suggestion ❣️
All the vest with tge wedding
Thank you my dear❣️ We are one week out and just finished at the day job for 10 days, so now we can get really busy 🤓
Have you considered using a diz and making your battery into roving?
A couple of other lovely Spinners have recommended a diz, so I will be shopping for one at the fibre festivals this autumn. Thanks ❣️ I wouldn't have thought that would make a difference
Is that Holst yarn really worth all the trouble of washing/rinsing? Not to mention that it has to be shipped from Europe.
It's a good point Mara! I bought this year's ago in a good sale when the Canadian dollar didn't suck. It was super popular on podcasts and I wanted to try it. I won't be buying it again, but I still have some in my stash that I'm using up 🤓
Hint of summer is not free on Ravelry sadly.
Ugh...so sorry to be telling you fibs 🙄
Hint of summer. Is not currently free on Ravelry.
Oh shoot Shelley!!! I'm sorry that I got that wrong, but thanks for letting me know
A Hint of summer pattern isnt free on Ravelry.
Sorry for the misinformation Judith 🙄
I do love coming for a chat and it's so nice to know that you're there hanging out with me 💖
We are doing the food for the wedding, but we're keeping it pretty simple with a build your own sandwich bar, salads and chips.
The dress was definitely more of an issue than I expected, but I didn't want anything too Mother of the Bride. I found a couple of options online and thankfully loved one of them.
I will have an obnoxiously large amount of pictures next time I come for a visit 🤓
Happy knitting 🧶
@@knitsiphappy I'm looking forward to seeing them. I don't have any weddings upcoming for a very long time, so I have to live through everyone else's photos.
@@sew_So_beautiful I haven't been to a wedding in 6 years
Love each and every one of your videos!
