It's still insane how you have to do all of these things to save battery. I like the Z Fold 3 but damn, when my battery drops 1% in less than 10 minutes, it sucks so much..
I just got the Fold 3 yesterday, loving it! It's been exactly 13 hours and 2 minutes since I topped off the charge to 100% after getting my phone, with 4h 8m of that being screen on time. Still 46% remaining. That puts it right in line with what I was getting with my old s9+, of which I had no complaints about. I don't have AOD on, but everything else is setup basically stock. It says it's still learning my usage, so I assume it will likely get even better over time. Considering I haven't optimized a single thing, I'm pretty impressed with the battery life so far.
That sounds really impressive actually. 4h8m SoT with 13hours off charger and still 46% left is very good. It's been like 4 days now for you, how is the batterylife looking so far?
Thank you for the much needed tips for better battery life on Fold 3. I've now subscribed to your channel for more great stuff. I like the full cover/case you have on your Z Fold 3. May I ask which one it is? Link to the case, please!
Great tips! I have most of these already turned on. Yes, battery life isn't as nice as my old Note for example, but there's also much more it has to drive. I also have it set to only charge to 85% but I can still get a day use out of it. Also, am I the only one who doesn't really care for the 120 Hz deal? I don't game, and for day to day use I can't really say 60 bothers me. Maybe I've gotten really used to it. 🤷♀️ I guess if nothing else, it does help with battery life.
Once I tried 120hz for scrolling it actually helped a lot with headaches when I do a lot of reading! But otherwise I'm fine with 60hz on my phone, so I'm trying Adaptive refresh rate for a while and seeing how it goes... I don't mind the battery life so far, but I knew that it was a trade-off for the form factor (which was worth it to me). I think they shouldn't advertise this as a flagship since it doesn't have a lot of the flagship specs people expect. This is more of... I suppose I would describe it more as a 'luxury' phone? Being able to fold my Flip 3 and tuck it into my pocket without worry, or carry it around in one hand more securely is 100% worth it to me, but I know it isn't for some people! I think the price should really be about $150-200 less than what it is (for the Flip at least).
Yeah I run mines on the battery protect also I'm planning on keep this for while if the fold 4 blow the 3 out of the water I'll let the 3 go until then I hold out
I just bought the fold 3 off of marketplace 3 days ago for 400 bucks minus a couple scrapes and dings on two corners the phone is in excellent condition plus once i throw a case on it no worries the screens are in perfect condition it folds a dream [never had a foldable before just could'nt justify 1800 bucks but i'm loving my experience so far also have a oneplus 11 as my daily driver]
Similar story, got mine for £400 on backmarket and it arrived near spotless. Use a pixel 6a as a daily for now until I can find a decent case that's not bulky. It is however, being used for emulation and also for map and car monitor duties when driving.

Mostly good video but don't turn off Edge Panel! It is the primary way to do multi window and multi tasking management with this phone. Edge panel isn't important on normal phones but on this one definitely leave it on or you are missing out on the whole point of having this phone!
Have my fold 3 through tmobile and out of 36 months got 15 left when the middle of last month my battery started swelling and then my back cleanly separated from the device not to mention my screen protector has almost completely delamenated so had to send it into Samsung for repair and just waiting for the device to be returned, can't give tmobile any credit for helping as they just wanted my $199 deductible have never dropped submerged or did any out of normal usage either
@@walterrobinsonjr7550 No. Only for updates occasionally. 5G is faster. Though if you use WiFi that won't use as much battery as 5G would. I prefer 5G plus I have unlimited data so I want to make the most of that!
Love the video! These are some great tips that I’d employ when I’m on the last leg of my battery. But these features are what make the phone one of the best in the market. In my opinion, if you actually need an all day battery, this is not the phone for you.
I already used almost all those settings since day one. But I can't help... Today I charged my phone to the suggested 85%. Then I watched videos for half an hour and used WhatsApp for like 15-20 minutes and the battery charge was already below 74%. BTW I only used the small screen. Am I expecting too much or is there something wrong?
Can we please get a Cons vs Pros video on this phone/Phablet? No complaints here. I could care less about the S-Pen ! It has 5 cameras, how is the camera so bad‽ multi tasking is Phenomenal!
I went or 60 he refresh rate (something I never do on my other phones), phone is still snappy , helps with battery and I keep all other settings on max.
I used to use Bixby Routines to switch to 60hz when the battery gets below 30% or when I’m watching a film or just doing some work. We still shouldn’t have to make concessions for the cost of the phone though.
After watching more and more of these videos I really think they shouldn't have advertised these like a flagship phone, but advertise the Z line as the Innovation line (or something to that effect). I do expect to pay a bit of a premium for the 'innovative' aspect, because I do want to reward Samsung for continuing to experiment and push boundaries with phone design. That said, I do think that even with the 'premium' tax into account for the form factor they're ~$150 more expensive than they should be. I knew when purchasing my Flip 3 that I was sacrificing battery life, but having a more accessible form factor was worth that trade-off for me. For others it won't be (and that's okay). What rubs me the wrong way is that by giving flagship pricing Samsung brought flagship expectations along with it, and for the general consumer there was no reason give for them to assume otherwise. While it wasn't wrong of Samsung not to bring up any of the trade-offs for the form factor, it does feel a bit disingenuous. (Not sure if I phrased this properly, so hopefully it makes sense in the way I meant it to.)
Putting the screen at 60 hertz defeats the inovations for 120 technologies. Make bigger/optimize the battery to run the things that made your selling points Samsung.

Personally think dark mode looks better than light mode on all phones, it is one of the first things I change when I get a new phone. Nice vid :)
It depends on the phone, stock Android has a horrible dark mode. Studies show it doesn't save battery life though
@@cooliipie yeah I've never noticed a difference in battery tbh. Haven't used stock android in like 5 years
