  • At Superbooth 24, Chris of Sound Workshop showcased its Wiggler V3, an innovative expressive Synthesizer that was initially unveiled at Superbooth 23.
Sound Workshop Wiggler V3 is a classic mono synth, but thanks to its unique tactile interface takes the player and the engine to new expressive areas.

Wow that conversation was so lovely! I’m glad we got a chance to talk while it was quiet so I could get more of my thoughts out about the motivations. Thanks so much Tom for interviewing me and putting this video together!

I am wildly curious to test this not only for music but for sound design … I feel like you could really add deeper emotion to sounds.

This is an instrument in its own right. Beautifully made, easy to understand, but it will need some studying and effort to master the playing well. Like it should for an instrument of its own right. Fantastic 😊

One of the best things i've seen in a synth world for years, since maybe Linnstrument!
Sounds really nice, cool ideas for expression control. When UI is improved a little bit - it would be a real cool instrument on its own!

OK for fun I watched the video and here's a list of times I misspoke:
** - I forgot to mention there are momentary sharp and flat touch nubs to get the notes in between the current Scale. You can see them to the right and left of the keypad
1:25 - I didn't mean to say Wiggler feels like a MicroKorg. I meant to say MicroBrute. Actually, I'm going for the opposite of a MicroKorg. In Wiggler, all the controls should be immediately on the surface with a dedicated knob, like a MiniMoog.
1:42 - modulation signals are routed with attenuators only, not attenuverters. My purpose for doing this is it allows you to turn off modulation really easily. In one case I added a polarity flip button for a little flexibility.
5:30 - I should have said that wiggler is half instrument half controller
6:10 - my words got tangled because this was the first time I gave the spiel! Kudos to Tom for catching up some extra people on setup day

Very nice! 🤩 Hopefully the UI of the final version will be a lot like this 👌🏻 maybe a more ridged front panel, so less prone to sticky fingers or scratches. And yes, 1/4 inch connectors please 🙏🏻 Really looking forward to seeing it in stores 👍🏻

totally amazing, getting used to the minor/major switch seems the hardest part

love the design, looks like a lot of fun to play, even for a "non-player" like myself,
    - will make a superb controller for eurorack, etc
    - and I agree with the designer's choice of a simple sound engine.
Quite often, and especially in music,
    - less is more.
    god bless

Wow, stunning. Looks very promising. would prefer 1/4 in jacks. with a switch to select instrument level (eg for guitar pedals), or line level. maybe a balanced line out option. Regardless congrats to the creator
