Agreed. As much as I love the Skywalker saga, it would be nice for Lucasfilm to give us canon stories during the old republic and even further back. I have barely any knowledge of the Old Republic stuff other than it is FAR more awesome than nearly every other time period in Star Wars, the cinematic trailers and some minor bits of info about certain characters. This sort of video is super helpful! It makes me want to see all of this stuff in either animated, CG (like the cinematic trailers), or live action form some day! Cannot wait for the video game on the PS5, and I pray the rumours of the film/TV show are true!!
I played the game a ton when it originally released and have returned to it periodically, but I never touched the expansions, as I'm still trying to level through all the class stories. I really appreciate this brief overview of what I've missed and am happy to see SWTOR getting more attention than it has in a long time. I hope that the gameplay changes, QoL changes and new story coming with Legacy of the Sith will spark a renewal for the game. May the Force be with ye, devs.
man i got a chance to introduce this game to my 11 year old son recently.. he grew up watching me play it but never really cared to ask me about it until recently haha he like 1 when it came out but he started playing with me and now he loves it also. I love this game, I hope it stays around another 10 years.
Exactly. The game was doomed from the start with its over ambitious multi class storyline and they tried to condense it with Makeb into 2: Republic and Empire. With the nonsense that was the post Ziost Eternal Empire storyline, they crashed everything into a single story that really only made sense as the Jedi Knight class. Playing a Trooper main, the entire Valkorian arc broke any suspension of SW lore disbelief and the treatment of Revan's arc was unforgivable.
@@hgcenty Yeah, thats why I never going to play the expansions with my other characters other than the knight and the wrath even tough my favourite character is the imperial agent, I would never play the expansions as him.

As an avid fan from Beta onwards, I am as excited as always to see more content being created. This game is fun for the obvious reasons (story, pvp, ops, FPs, etc) but one thing that this game has that MANY games can't come close to (at least for me) is the ability to create a very powerful RP community. I have been in several guilds back when Begeren Colony and Ebon Hawk were their own servers, to now with Star Forge pathing the way for creative minds to write/act out interesting stories of their own. I made friends that I would NEVER have met otherwise, whether from other states I would otherwise never visit, to far off countries like Australia, New Zealand, Germany, etc etc. I've been a gamer my whole life and I can say with 100% surety that SWTOR created some of my fondest memories through the RP community. Some amazing duels, stories, missions, etc that established life-long friendships that transcended the game and bled over into other games and IRL comradery. I saw that this expansion is not the end for SWTOR and that the devs still have much more story and content ideas up their sleeves. For as small a team as they have, there is genuine love there for what they do and I can't wait to continue the story and adventure to continue. Thanks to the BW team for sustaining my childhood love of SW and bringing some of the most interesting times in the lore to life with this game and the KOTOR games as well!
I’m glad they kept going with the story but man I really enjoyed those class stories he most, especially when you first start off as nothing and build up your rank.
used to play this SO MUCH when first came out but around when the revan story was going on we got a new computer and since I haven't been able to play, finally got a another new personal one this chrismas that can handle SWTOR and so hyped to get back on, I had roughly kept up with the story in a bit more detail than this over the years but this is really nice for a catch up
It is, becouse this is the "canonical" main character they are using since 2015. Cinema forge recreated him from the trailers, so his jedi knight playthrough is literally the only "canon" playthrough you can find on youtube.
I played this game when it first launched and had a blast... but unfortunately watched it almost die. I'm happy to see that, despite that, it found it's bearings again and it's alive and kicking. Happy anniversary!!!
biggest weakness of the empire is the Sith always fighting amongst themselves outside of the Revanite crisis you don't really see republic vs republic, but you frequently see sith vs sith, this is why the empire eventually fails
@@Pease98 I've been holding out hoping for certain dialogue bugs to be fixed (one of them being Akaavi not recognizing the Bounty Hunter even after the Mako/Akaavi Alliance alert). It's been mentioned by others, as well as acknowledged, on the forums and hopefully that can be fixed before the expansion. I might just go ahead with the two Jedi anyway though pretty soon.

Cannot wait for the video game on the PS5, and I pray the rumours of the film/TV show are true!!
I started playing it when I was 15. I’m 23 now and still love this game.
I wish they would show more of the other classes in the cinematics and not just Jedi Knight. Would love to see Sith hero's or others.
Well, they chose the jedi knight to be the canonical main character and this video was focusing on the main story of the game.
@@hgcenty I always felt the Sith Warrior also could have easily been the commander. Its more likely the Hero of Tython but the whole Alliance and the fucking awful Zakuul arc really shouldn't have happened.
Best story-telling I've seen in any MMO together with FFXIV
This might be the best cinematic so far, seriously impressive
Very well put together and comprehensive. Thank you! I've played SWTOR years ago and I've been wondering what has happened to the lore? Great job!
Excellent reading of the summary of in-game events. Thanks Charles and team! Been a subscriber since 2012 and curiously hopeful for the new expansion. Keep up the fantastic work please! 👍
Years of work summed up in 4 minutes..really great job 👏
I don't always play this game, but when I do, I do it a LOT. So great to play, it's nice to see it's still alive after all those years
Just here after teh new cinematic legacy of the sith. Got me hyped for this game again. Thx please keep this game alive as long a possible
Dammmn, strong video!!! i enjoy recap hearing the story so smooth from u.
CAN'T! LIKE! ENOUGH!
Me: "The Story so Far? In only 7 minuets? Impossible!"
BioWare:
Me: 😱💥
as zaeed from mass effect said when it comes to surviving rage is a heck of an anestetic
I’m glad they kept going with the story but man I really enjoyed those class stories he most, especially when you first start off as nothing and build up your rank.
Thank the Force for this game. Cheers, SWTOR team!
Great job on catching us up
Easily one of the greatest Star Wars games of all time and is 100% deserving of being a Sequel to Knights of The Old Republic 1&2.
My Jedi Knight has been through it all! :)
I love this. Very helpful for someone who will be jumping into this as a new player.
Needed this so much
Awesome video! 👏🏼
I just stumbled across this video and now I can’t wait to explore the rest of your channel.
used to play this SO MUCH when first came out but around when the revan story was going on we got a new computer and since I haven't been able to play, finally got a another new personal one this chrismas that can handle SWTOR and so hyped to get back on, I had roughly kept up with the story in a bit more detail than this over the years but this is really nice for a catch up
The Jedi Knight in this is like one of Cinema Forge’s characters.
It is, becouse this is the "canonical" main character they are using since 2015. Cinema forge recreated him from the trailers, so his jedi knight playthrough is literally the only "canon" playthrough you can find on youtube.
@@attilafekete7892 “from my point of view the sith warrior is the cannon version!”
@@pedrocarvajal550 That's fine, but bioware thinks otherwise.
@@attilafekete7892 i know it was a joke, the meme of Anakin saying that from his point o view the jedi where evil…
@@pedrocarvajal550 its ok buddy the joke flew over his head
I played this game when it first launched and had a blast... but unfortunately watched it almost die. I'm happy to see that, despite that, it found it's bearings again and it's alive and kicking. Happy anniversary!!!
biggest weakness of the empire is the Sith always fighting amongst themselves outside of the Revanite crisis you don't really see republic vs republic, but you frequently see sith vs sith, this is why the empire eventually fails
Great Recap of the story of SWTOR so far... Lets hope this new expansion have some "meat" on it...
I like to belive that Tenebre is still alive in the force and is still imposing his influence into ears throughout the years such as bane or Palpatine
And what a story it was
A great video that we can share with our friends who still haven´t played yet. But I missed Mek-Sha, Onderon and Malgus´ disappearance.
As a star wars fan that loves the lore but doesn't play mmos I love these videos
Can't wait to continue the story!
Are you gonna post the remaining class arc videos for “Whispers in the Dark” soon??
@@Pease98 I've been holding out hoping for certain dialogue bugs to be fixed (one of them being Akaavi not recognizing the Bounty Hunter even after the Mako/Akaavi Alliance alert). It's been mentioned by others, as well as acknowledged, on the forums and hopefully that can be fixed before the expansion. I might just go ahead with the two Jedi anyway though pretty soon.
@@milinc yeah all I’ve really cared about is the Jedi Knight because in my mind he’s the canon outlander/commander
Thank you for your time. Awesome voice btw.
So many good memories with this game.
You keep saying who the canon outlander is is determined by the player, but you keep making it clear that to you it’s the Hero of Tython. And I thank you for it!
Same. Fits with my canon so i can't complain
You know that preview video(s) with Gnos telling the background history stories?
It’d be awesome if they made a new one like that
The Story So Far: "Darth Nox" pretty much a no body even though his power is crazy stronk
