Disventure camp all stars episode 5 is here and after the last elimination, a certain note throws around the entire hierarchy of the teams! This episode is filled with delicious strategic moves... and Riya. Of course, we're going to talk about all of it!

It's needed
Hunter had beef with a child whole season. He didn't really try to strategies but complain about having a child on his team. I'm saying all this while he was my favorite character for the second season so him getting eliminated just feels sad but also somehow satisfying.
Yeah I didn’t like his characterization this season. He was sociable and kind last season and they completely threw that away. At the very least they could’ve gave him more plot than literally arguing with a child for 4 episodes straight, I mean come on.
I’m really starting to wonder what Connor even sees in Riya cause all this time she’s been a jerk, cruel and a wannabe mean girl. Like it’s ok for Julia and Heather cuz they are teens but Riya is in her 30’s, she needs to grow up!

I’m so jealous that you get to see the episode without the watermark. Derek has no right in saying the challenge is pedestrian and then not demonstrating at all. Trevor is the goat, I’m noticing that Trevor is getting some love, a swimwear design and new cycling and swimming animations, I’m so exited to see what else is in store for Trevor.
About Emily I’m predicting she got called by Yul’s manager to scold him about the thunder thighs comment.
God that had to be Riya’s most annoying confessional. I was predicting Riya should be eliminated before the merge and Yul makes it far (like reversing their season 2 placements) but now it seems Riya has the upper hand on Yul. Emily is supposed to “dig up the dirt in the confessionals” so maybe she shows Yul what Riya said so that he targets her instead of Connor.
Also the cyan team is so dumb if they kept the chicken alive they could have fresh eggs every day.

After watching the episode, there are a few things that can be easy to miss:
Gabby dropped a few references this episode. With Freckles, some people note she may have named it after Ellie. However, someone pointed out that Freckles is apparently a reference to Courtney Yates from Survivor (China and HvV). Also, how Gabby bolted to beat out Fiore was a beta reference to how she beat out Fiore (and Will) during the canoe challenge (beta E2 for reference).
If you re-watch Tom’s second confessional, he cut himself off, after saying the word “and”, about something else. This parallels Jake, while fishing with Ashley the episode prior, hinted at something happened with Tom and him post-season. Based on Tom saying about still feeling burned, whatever happened with these two caused that wound to re-open.

@@awoooga5857 Jake did nothing? He was set up by Alec and Ellie, whom exploited his weakness. Tom took a risk and failed. Now Tom is mad because Tom ghosted Jake and got mad at him when he did the exact same strategy to win the last challenge. Tom is the immature one here over the two in the events of DCAS.

On the Ally thing, I believe in the secret reveal challenge (which I like to call the big character lore exposition dump) on her season, they said that she made kids cry and uploaded sexy photos of herself online and people think she did it for fame. I believe that was the establishment that Ally does not have a good online reputation. I'm pretty sure in that same challenge it was revealed Yul made an ex girlfriend get plastic surgery but dumped her when she did it "wrong" which is continued with Grett.

I am really hoping that the staff gets more screen time next episode!! (especially Trevor and Emily) Cuz I am interested to see if they have a storyline for the staff and stuff, also I wonder if Emily and Yul is gonna have some sort of alliance.. 🤔
there are 21 episodes, so in future episodes there might be more staff interactions, also i have a theory that maybe Emily is Yul's new manager
So basically everyone predicts Connor as the next boot on yellow, but I think it’d be too obvious. What would be the point of one of the three pre-merge characters to not make merge again, especially since he’s a good guy? I actually think it’s ALEC who’s next to go on yellow. What happened in episode 5 was Fiore telling Riya they have a mole on their team, now I think it was not random that it’s Riya who heard it first from the yellow. Mrs Bollywood reject (I love her but I had to 😭) views Connor as someone stupid, naive and completely 100% loyal to her, so in her pov, why would her servant expose her? Remember that Miriam’s public enemy number 1 was Alec, he was the one who she was trying to get out the whole time. Now the most important part, what did miriam tell the villains? That ALEC has multiple alliances ON THE OTHER TEAMS, and now THE OTHER TEAMS know about their alliance from someone on yellow. I think Miriam was purposefully pushing the scenario of Alec being in touch with the members of the other teams, in order to throw him under the bus when Connor delivers the letters, and that’s what I predict is gonna happen, Miriam taking down Alec with herself.
If Yellow loses, I see either Grett (unless the trailer shows otherwise. With how non-villainous Grett has been, she may get blamed, likely by Yul, for exposing the alliance with how he has been treating her. Otherwise, Miriam exposing Alec playing all sides may causes everyone to pay attention to what can be described, should Alec go, as overplay. Also, Alec going out would some retroactive sweet revenge via Miriam
I agree with Connor beyond the too obvious. Despite being on the outs, as both Riya and Alec benefit keeping Connor and even Yul (who still thinks, unless Emily exposes Riya, Connor votes for him) around longer.

I’ve noticed an odd pattern regarding Tom so far. Out of 5 episodes, this is now the 4th one, and at least 7 times, that it mentioned, directly or indirectly, that Tom is a cop. While you can argue they clearly haven’t made that clear enough, why are they keep bringing this up when it hasn’t lead to almost nowhere so far.

As we know of episode 2, James doesn’t think Tom and Aiden are anything like that. He knows their friends and knows Aiden would never do that to him. I also don’t think that Tom likes Aiden, I mean cmon, is it the most realistic? He just has no one else to talk to but Aiden, and they’re close friends. Close friends doesn’t mean have crushes on eachother.

Good episode, but I was a little confused why Ashley and Jake would oust Hunter over Ally, when he has made it clear how he wants Fiore out and Fiore said herself she had no control over the vote (meaning Jake and Ashley essentially told Fiore who to vote for) and likely doesn’t want to going risk a tiebreaker against Ally. I feel like it could have made sense, but there wasn’t enough to show or explain why Hunter was more optimal to go for Jake and Ashley.
No offense, but I smell a little bit of too much plot inconvenience with Ally and Fiore staying and even plot inconvenience for Jake.

I still have no clue what the F was this elimination. It literally makes no sense and I want explanations from the creators. I don't really care about Hunter that much, I just have no clue what they were going for with this elimination. It simply makes no sense
If Jake and Ashley eliminate Fiore now, they'll have to compete against Ally or Hunter in a tie-breaker challenge the next time Magenta loses (since it would be 2 vs 2). They would rather compete against Fiore (who's been flopping in all the challenges so far) than risk a 50-50 chance of one of them going home against Ally or Hunter
Yeah then what was even the point of the whole Hunter and Jake interaction, where they confirmed that they are voting for Fiore XD What is even more stupid is the whole Miriam letter and the whole Villain Alliance exposal. Like, I feel like all of the players just ignored it xD And what I don't get the most is Jake from literally all other players just ignored Miriams message. If you know that others are working together then maybe it is worth to just vote Fiore out. You said it yourself... Fiore was the reason they were losing... No Fiore, no more losing. Their team was really good in recent challanges... Also a 2v2 isn't even a problem XD I am sure it would be Ally vs Ashley so that is not a problem either as the winner would be decided by luck at that point as both are playing somewhat well.
@@thebotofdoom Jake gave a fake plan to Hunter to lull him into a false sense of security (while him, Ashley and Fiore blindside him). That happens all the time on Survivor (which is one of the main inspiration for DC). Jake and Ashley will target Fiore next regardless and, from their POV, they'll have a 90% of beating her in a tie-breaker challenge (since she's bad at challenges). In their mind, breaking the HuntAlly duo increases the odds of both of them reaching the merge without having to worry about a endgame threat (Hunter).
"But what about the Villain Alliance ? And them taking the risk to lose even more challenges ?". There's actually an easy fix to both of these issues. Miriam's letters gave the Magenta and Cyan teams the perfect excuse to team up with each other to make sure that the Yellow team loses repeatedly. That would force the Villain Alliance to turn on each other and the alliance will be weakened by the time they reach the merge. If something goes wrong and Magenta/Cyan loses, they can just get rid of their "fodder" (Ellie and Fiore) to also weaken the Villain Alliance 🤷🏽♀️

@@thebotofdoom I mean, it's not impossible 🤷🏽♀️. 2 years have passed and multiple S1 contestants have improved in various ways (Ashley is trying to be more strategic, Alec is trying to be more social, Grett is nicer and Gabby doesn't seem to be as unhinged). Jake spent a lot of time preparing with the winner of S1 and the confessionals he had this episode shows that he's thinking strategically.
Sure, he's more likely to fly off the handle if the situation is involving Tom and Aiden (as we've seen in ep2 🤦🏽♀️). But we've also seen him try to remain rational in the following episodes. Since this particular elimination had nothing to do with Tom, he was able to keep his cool and follow his gameplan.

I hate Riya with a passion and I'm tired of Riya stans pretending that she's this deep and well-written character, the complex and well written characters are others like Ellie, Alec, Miriam, Grett, Connor and Ally (Ally and Connor only in All Stars)
