We got engaged on the 84 in 1963. I preached my first sermon in Uppermill Methodist Church in 1962 right across from the bus stop. My wife lived in Hollinwood (up Hollins Road). We had so much fun following this superb video enhanced by terrific quality. Thanks so much.
Really good ride thank you again. Paul in Kent
Thank you Paul
Nice video, great scenery and definitely Autumn all around.😊
Thanks. Scenery changes with season.
I remember doing this journey as a kid. When we got to uppermill, it was as busy as hell, some festival was on with morris dancers etc Iv not been back since in 25+ years
So happy when it’s a Volvo B9
That turning circle at Uppermill seems very generous for the size of the place and for the number of buses using it!
It does. It’s like only two normal routes plus few school services are using that turning point.
@@EurasiaTransportExplorer which bus tour ik the 84 and?
The turning circle is only serviced by the 84 and the 352 (Saturdays only 3 times)
The turning circle used to host a ton of school services for the nearby Saddleworth school which is why it’s so large but the school has now moved to another new building in Delph and the school buses have moved with it
Uppermill turning circle used to have far more buses terminating there including school services when the school was next door.
It was redeveloped into its current version around 2005-07 when before then on this site the huge retirement flats were a garage/petrol station along with the bus terminus which back then was smaller and was a different alignment.
Lovely place Uppermill.
Great video could you do the service 2 from Runcorn Halton Lea to Chester bus interchange Enviro 200
Does Gary Taylor do that route
Two 84s running together?
You spotted that too! The drivers do this intentionally so they don't have to stop so often. The people at the bus stop have to wait twice as long for the next 84 ,enormouse waist of money , but management don't care , not their money , TAX PAYERS and pasengers bare the cost.
6:33 Someone went to a lot of expense to build that Chinese pagoda in the heart of Manchester " Chinese and orienental groceries" now boarded up , bankrupt, just no demand , not enough Chinse in Manchester!
Another great trip across GM....personally I Find the First Bus livery absolutely disgusting. These colours maje the buses look shabby and unattractive. Your video is great though. Thanks for sharing
It’s an old livery now on most cities they are using local names and full colour buses but with Manchester they have given up soon will sell this also
