Loving this series, all the snippets of Van life (especially the food!) and learning about other cultures along the way. You’re both doing an excellent job. 👍👍

Rest is so needed ❤ thank you for still getting this vlog up. 😊 dealing with your period in a van must be difficult or not glamorous. I would definitely need a washroom nearby at all times!

I feel very unsettled about this video of yours. I've been following your channel for a few years now and I am so often with you, when you share your thoughts and feelings about mankind in general. But this video gave me a bit of a trouble. Especially the part at 1:56 where you compare Israels attack on Gaza with the fascists attack on Guernica. This seems like a very one-dimensional view on the near east conflict, that doesn't seem to fit with your rich wisdom about the world. As co-artists we should know that the world is never black and white.
I am sorry if you don't like to hear this kind of criticism and I definitly don't want to make you feel bad. But I had to think about your statement in the video a lot and after a lot of thinking whether I should say something or not, I didn't want to leave it uncommented.

Tell me what you think is incorrect about it perhaps?

If what I said unsettles you, I think you should go and research more, as it's probably a sign your world view is being challenged. That's a good thing, I like it when that happens to me. I can send you a link about battle tested weapons from well credited journalists if you are interested. This has been known for many years. I am not offended that you have said this to me - the only part that offends is that it seems unexpected that I would have this view and be critical of what's happening. 23,000 plus innocent people are dead. 70% of them women and children. Come on. You must know I couldn't stand for this. I am always, always on the side of the oppressed and I always, always will be.

You are right, one can never educate oneself enough. I do read/listen/watch a lot about the near-east conflict, especially since Oct 7, 2023. And it definitly challenges my worldview (and it makes me sick). What I was trying to express with my post above is, that this conflict is very complex and it's not that easy to divide into black and white, good/bad, guilty/innocent. Without trying to be partisan of either side, I think that by comparing Israels attack on Gaza with Francos attack on Guernica you assume that the Israeli attack has a fascist motivation. In my opinion quite cynical, not just in the light of history but also concerning the goals of Hamas, Hisbolla, etc. to extinct Israel from the map. Of course it would be incorrect to say that Gaza population = Hamas, but they can't be easily untangled either. Hard to find any innocence in this conflict. All there is is pain.
I am interested in that article you have mentioned. Can you send a link?

I am wondering - what is your judgement of what Franco did to the residents and visitors of Guernica on that fateful day of the bombing? Do you allow for shades of grey thinking there? ie were the perhaps Basques extremists - separatists and communist and therefore not totally innocent parties? I'm sure that in his day, Franco was spinning tales and making reasons for why such attacks are needed - just as Isr.el does today. It's easy to point at atrocities of the past and say "that was wrong" it's harder to look at atrocities of the here and now and make a stand. Especially when such powerful forces have a hold of the narrative - the US, the UK, EU and Isr.el. I completely disagree that its hard to find innocence - every day I open my phone and see those innocent people b0mb>d to pieces. We talk of the goals of Islamic fractions - but what of the goals of Isra3l? It's leaders calling civilians human animals, and soldiers claiming hospitals and beaches as their own, Palestinian women giving birth to little snakes (one politician said). The language is clear. It is a dehumanising colonial project to them, and it has been from the inception of the country. Once I read about the Nakba I could see what is happening today is what Isra3l has always been doing - largely without opposition. I can't imagine how abandoned Palestinians feel. @@kromafila

If you google "weapons testing Israel " you should find articles by the pultizer center and others - and also 'the Palestine laboratory' brings up books, articles, interviews about their arms export trade. Also Doctor Mads Gilbert and other aid workers have been raising the alarm about the types of injuries they are seeing on patients, that suggest isra3l is testing new weaponry in it's current onslaught. In the same way Hitler wanted to make his fleet stronger to secure his victory, Isra3l's arms export trade is growing to strengthen its own position. I was contemplating the link as I visited this once stricken town, and obviously Gaza is never far from my thoughts. Which is why I wrote what I did. I can see the comparison, perhaps not everyone can. @@kromafila
