I actually have Bob and Doug "lack of" action figures. Details like squares, packs of smokes, bottle caps(!), Coleman camp stove AND back bacon...And they call you a hoser, and tell you to take off. Canada's Dynamic Duo. 😁
What, you'd want it to end up like SNL -- stale or spoiled WAY past the fresh date?!? Look at what SNL has become and the long years when it wasn't very good. It's an institution and it's also very much subject to the whims and politics of whoever is controlling the network at the time. I think SCTV and Kids in the Hall avoided that fate by ending when they did. They ended before they became TOO stale and everybody was worn out. SNL has arguably gone on TOO LONG...

This is hilarious! I was born in 1995, well after SCTV left the air for the last time, but Bob and Doug McKenzie will always be two of the best sketch comedy characters on any show. Also, could you please share more sketches from season 6? That would be great.
I was born in 1966, and during the age of VHS tape players, would record some SCTV sketches when I could. I've posted all I have except the ones someone else posted already. Classic stuff!

As Johnny is leaving (and crying) Guy says I need you do something for me. I'll do anything Mr. LaRue, you just name it. Gimmie the keys to the Limo you won't be needing it anymore. (More endless sniveling and crying) LOL
Great episode but too bad it left out some hilarious scenes. There's Johnny LaRue wailing when he sees his new dressing room and the best bit when he and Bittman are lamenting their treatment over many, many drinks. Thanks for the upload anyway. By the way, you wouldn't happen to have the one where Andrea Martin as Tawny Beaver (pronounce bee-vay) where she runs (and loses) for office against some good-looking airhead and takes over his victory speech with a Kennedy-esque concession speech? That is an all-time classic.
Johnny LaRue. One of the great characters in TV History. He's like Eric Cartman grown up.
I like it when LaRue cries.

Wow I never knew how a major television studio operated. Always admired Mr. Caballero for his shrewd business sense.😉🤩
R.I.P. John Candy (1950-1994)
And now Joe Flaherty
J La R - "Uuuuuuuuuuu nooooo!" That little kid whine. Classic. I always loved the constant "low budget" running gag of SCTV. Genius.

You can buy a complete box set for $40-70 new, but most is online, and over half on UA-cam. 👍👍
Caballero's line about "why did I only give them a two-minute time slot?" is a winking nod to the genesis of the Bob and Doug characters.
Ironic that they made it the most stereotypical thing to spite cbc and it took off.Canadian content? The whole damn thing is Canadian content!
