A few summers ago I was working on a gravel crusher. The loader guy's name was Mel and he would take the boulders that were too big away from the infeed and put them in a pile on the side of the site. Needless to say anytime anyone said "Mel's Rock Pile" including myself, I would crack up. Everyone there was too young to get the joke.

I remember ages ago on some talk show , Liberace was on and then some young male teen heartthrob was the next guest. This was when video games were first the rage , and every kid was hanging out at the arcade. The young man was saying that was his hobby hanging at the arcade with his friends . Liberace was telling him he loved video games too and had about a dozen of them in his den . He even invited him over to play them . The kid was like WOW , that would be cool. Even back then it felt creepy watching it .😱

I grew up a Dodger fan from Koufax Ans Walt to the 80s teams. Id carry their bags to their cars and get autographs, was sure diff then, Now I never watch them they have ruined a great organization.

This show was so close to real local disco shows that it was barely satire!

As the great Marv Levy would have put it, "What an over officious jerk!" Irv was a pro. Handled it perfectly.

Sketch comedy has always been the best comedy and the SCTV crew were the best practitioners of the genre. It's a bloody shame sketch comedy has virtually disappeared from the scene.
