I saw this episode when it first aired and I knew then it was a comedy classic.
We’re not washing your car, eh! 😂
Seems like a real newscast in today's world..
Where's the Merv laugh? Boo-hoo Hah-hah!
Should be Senator Steve Garvey if only the California dumbocraps hadn't cheated. Instead we get that bug-eyed goofus Schittt.
Lasorda and Jackson: Two bigger than life personalities when baseball was bigger than life. Baseball, not so much anymore.
That giant mini cam - the BEST Russian technology!
Actually a good block by Jackson. Took the chance and got away with it. Tommy was absolutely right!
Reggie leaned into that throw. Ha. Man thats great.
Met Tommy Lasorda at Langer's Deli he bought me lunch he was a very nice guy we sat together and talked baseball back in 79' 👌
Bill Russell blew it dmb fk the runner right on the lane
Legend
Love the big butt
Hes a sports legend
Over 40 yrs ago on , I wa 13 yrs old and I can still hear Toomy's voice and AGREE WITH HIM !!!! REGGIE HAS TO MOVE !!!!
This is aboout the only TV I can watch. Well, Love Boat reruns.
I think Tommy was spot on. Jackson telegraphed his move precisely. Looked innocent enough, but in baseball you make calculated moves.
Back in the day I was so happy drinking a cold glass of lemonade watching this moment at my late grandparents house in Columbus Georgia on their CBS affiliate WRBL channel 3
Anyone else notice the Trump approach here?
Donnie Porko patterned his entire essence after Guy, but only the worst elements.
One thing watching this....just how clean the screen was during the games, they hardly ever put up graphics
Yes, clean outfield walls too!
IT’s The SQUEEEZE !! Sept. 11, 1983 We were up in the Reserved Section between home and 1st. Probably the most exciting ending of a game I’ve ever witnessed in person - the RJ Reynolds squeeze play.
Bob Hope and Liberace; Dave Thomas FTW.
The only person angrier than Lasorda was my grandfather, while I sat smiling on the floor in my Yankees hat.
I love how un pc this skit is, with the Arab stereotypes and all the gay innuendo You don’t get that now -.it is so funny for those in the know
Troy Soren was a parent?
My first pack of football cards was a jackpot😇 included this man, LC Greenwood, Ted Hendricks and Chris Hanburger🏈
A few summers ago I was working on a gravel crusher. The loader guy's name was Mel and he would take the boulders that were too big away from the infeed and put them in a pile on the side of the site. Needless to say anytime anyone said "Mel's Rock Pile" including myself, I would crack up. Everyone there was too young to get the joke.
HaHaHa!!!!
Does anyone have the link to the clip where Troy Soren says "be he Bahai" he is listing religions similar to what he does here with race!
Ha Ha, haven't seen it yet...
Better teams. Better days. I may even say a period of time where managers were more involved in the game
Boy! Those two guys with the BIG noses, sure look, like FAMILIAR, Eh? 🤓😎✌🏼
Take off!
Wink wink, nudge nudge 😜
I remember ages ago on some talk show , Liberace was on and then some young male teen heartthrob was the next guest. This was when video games were first the rage , and every kid was hanging out at the arcade. The young man was saying that was his hobby hanging at the arcade with his friends . Liberace was telling him he loved video games too and had about a dozen of them in his den . He even invited him over to play them . The kid was like WOW , that would be cool. Even back then it felt creepy watching it .😱
RIP Phil Donahue!
Export ale yummy
Tommy Lasorda was a Dodger Treasure. I loved his passion and fire! He called Dodger Stadium "Blue Heaven On Earth" and always said he bled Dodger Blue.
The sketch was gold
Youngblood was a tough S.O.B.
Steroids took him down. I grew up in the same town and saw him rise out of HS. Sad story.
I grew up with Eric in Ventura and played football with him. I NEVER heard of him doing steroids.
What Goes Into Russia is pure Dave Thomas greatness
Fantastic skit!!!! I should have put it on here separately.
I remember this game. I was 10 years old in 1982.
I grew up a Dodger fan from Koufax Ans Walt to the 80s teams. Id carry their bags to their cars and get autographs, was sure diff then, Now I never watch them they have ruined a great organization.
I'm glad the Canadians thought Merv was as creepy as we did down here
That was baseball
Jack was THICK....
You got some Tan there Steve (RIP) we miss u
This show was so close to real local disco shows that it was barely satire!
As the great Marv Levy would have put it, "What an over officious jerk!" Irv was a pro. Handled it perfectly.
Sketch comedy has always been the best comedy and the SCTV crew were the best practitioners of the genre. It's a bloody shame sketch comedy has virtually disappeared from the scene.
rhoden sut them down
You guys are really starting to act like a couple a 😂😂😂
Fuck me - just perfect.
