Yes, there's a lot to enjoy with this set. I'd wager with a little creativity they could be combined with others by those so inclined, given the interchangeable nature of many of the Perry's other sets.
Great video! Are there enough parts available to build all 14 miniatures as ordinary cavalry men? I was thinking of doing this and buying a separate command sprue giving me a unit of 16 men. Thank you
Thank you, yes you absolutely could as the sprues are interchangeable. Potentially you might not get exactly matching arms of you wanted them all for example pointing forward but otherwise no problem. I mixed parts to create variation on my examples.
Good vid. I’m planning on buying several boxes of these. I was wondering, if you were to buy separate horse sprues from Perry are there enough parts to make complete riders for both Russian Dragoons and Russian Jaegers? So basically with another set of horses would you be able to make both types of one nationality or would you only be able to make one set of Russians and one set of Prussians?
I think the pinch point would be the torso/leg combinations. You could certainly make more than the set number of complete figures by the addition of more horses. In terms of similar nationality Dragoons and Jaegers, you'd have enough heads, would have to settle for either mixed arms on both or distinctly different. You're main issue would be that both use the same short tailed jacket and Russian Dragoons aren't known for using a version of the Litweka to allow you to fudge that in. Perhaps with a bit of conversion you could have paint them as if in greatcoats?
@@thelastbattalion3509 thanks very much, I’ll just make Russians but buy horse sprues to make up Prussians later, everyone gets round to collecting those sooner or later 😂
They look great. Do you think the Russian dragoons could be painted to represent Lifeguard Dragoons or are the details wrong? Similarly could you place the Russian helmets onto the Prussian bodies to make them look close enough to Prussian cuirassiers to pass as such do you think?
These are excellent thoughts that had not occurred to me! The Prussian Cuirassier idea to my mind is straightforward enough, the uniforms are suitable and the helmet is a close match to the Russian dragons. I think the main difference I can think of is that the troopers at least had an obvious blanket/coat roll at the front of the horse furniture which these do not - I personally would be fine with that. There might be some other subtle differences but not that I can think of. As for the Russian Lifeguard Dragoons, similar answer - I see no glaring reason why you could not use these and ‘convert by paint.’ The uniforms are similar enough that if there’s a differentiating detail it wouldn’t bother me! I think the Lifeguards jacket is double breasted with a red centre section, the regular Dragoons have two rows of buttons but single breasted as I understand it.
Thank you for the presentation! I am just waiting for my brigade to arrive in the mail.
Glad you enjoyed it, I'm sure you'll get as much and more from the figures themselves.
He’s back! Great to see another video so soon, I love the quality of your videos!
Cheers, Connor
Thank you, it's nice to have the opportunity to make some content that people enjoy again.
Very nice figures glad to hear that you get the chance to build a good mixture

Very nice figures, will be very nice painted up! 👍
Agreed, as per normal the latest thing is threatening to push its way to the front of the queue once more!
Look forward to seeing these painted. I have mine and trying to figure the best use for the sets given my rough goals. Great set.
At some point I will get round to painting them, so many great miniatures, so little time.
fantastic kits.
They really are of a high standard.
Nice work. Many thanks
Glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks for this follow up video, which is very helpful. Can I ask, which adhesive do you recommend for building these miniatures?
I used Revell Contacta plastic glue, which I use for all sorts of plastic miniatures.

i wish my excution of what you are showing was as good as your examples
I’m sure your figures look great, it’s a very forgiving kit to build!

Love you videos. Did you ever finish these units?
Thank you - they’re in the queue, so little time, so many miniatures! Plus I paint very slowly.
