I wish I had read this as a junior player. I heard about the teachings but never actually read the book. I'm reading now and incorporating the techniques. Today as a senior player I'm learning not to make judgements about my more limited playing ability at age 60. In doing so my performance is actually getting better because I'm letting go of my ego. This is great stuff!!
I read and followed the inner game ever since it came out and used it until now. I’m 73 and still enjoying the game 4 times a week wherever I am. Thanks Tim Gallwey for everything.
Learning to read the high speed and spin off your opponent's racket tracking it to the bounce and then saying hit helps you time the ball which all your mistakes are either early or late or your racket faces to open or closed. My coach taught me consistency movement and confidence with those keys above I became number one player in my state😊
I read this book when I was a Soph in High School. I went from 12th man on the team to All- State by my Sr year by using this technique. I tried it for golf but not as effective (for that I recommend Hogan's Five Lessons)
Great video !! In which way this exercize helps? I am a horse rider and l m trying to apply " the inner game " to show jumping. I m tryng ways to do that !!
I need help, somebody. I can't seem to get past the first round of bounce-hit. Then I forget to say it and fall back into lifting up my head with eyes darting everywhere. What can I do to overcome this???

Probably one of the most powerful drills in tennis.
This way of playing tennis has been very influential in my life. I recommend it highly.

The greatest line ever at 3:35 "You forget to worry."
Thanks for posting!
I learned a lot so thank you
The girl is Nia Peeples. She's fairly famous. She was on Fame and did some singing. I don't know why she wasn't introduced

The secret sauce is in what she’s paying attention to, not worrying alone is not the secret sauce as some may think in the comments.
