    Facts:
Mel Brooks went to George Lucas and told him the idea for the movie. He loved it, and said they could use all the Star Wars sets and props, but only on one condition, they could not sell any merchandise. That is the reason for the scene in Yogurt's cave. And the randomly placed product placements.
Also, said he could not dress "Lone Star" as Han Solo, so he dressed him as Indiana Jones.

Also, the “Dink Dink” March was a WWII song called “Colonel Bogey March”, which was whistled in the classic WWII movie “Bridge Over The River Kwai”. It was also used as a British propaganda parody during WWII called “Hitler Has Only Got One Ball”, notably used in the Amazon series “The Man In The High Castle”.

Those little guys in the robes that rescued them in the desert were a parody of the Star Wars creatures called Jawas. And it wasn't any Disney song they were whistling. That song's called "Colonel Bogey March", and it was written in 1914 by a British Army Lieutenant. It's been used in movies again and again over the years, mostly war or military movies. But the kids in "The Breakfast Club" did whistle it together in the library.

About all the "Branding." When the first "Star Wars" movie was being made, Mark Hamil overheard the talks of merchandising based on the movie. So, he got it put into his contract that he got one of anything made with "Star Wars" on it. He did not realize, "they were going to be making Darth Vader Electric Toothbrushes." For years, he had crates of stuff delivered to his house on a weekly, sometimes daily basis. He even got stuff that was not sold in the United States.

The Twins at about 9:30 are Dian and Denise Gallup. They were the "Doublemint Twins" for a long time. Wrigley's Doublemint gum had always featured twins in their ads. They were parodying themselves therefore, hence why he says "Chew your gum" to them.

17:41 The old skit you’re referring to, Amber, is “Who’s On First?,” which was made famous by the comedy duo Abbott & Costello, who were two of the biggest stars in the world in the 1940s and early 1950s. They usually did the routine on radio, but one of their many films does have it, the 1945 film THE NAUGHTY NINETIES. I also recommend their earlier films BUCK PRIVATES (1941), IN THE NAVY (1941), RIDE ‘EM COWBOY (1942), and IN SOCIETY (1944). You’ll really enjoy them! Great silly fun!

First of all thanks so much for all your reactions, and for all your hard work. Your videos always show how much effort you put in. Now just FYI: the last scene that you saw where the creature came out of the guys chest? That was from the movie Alien (the first one). And the guy that it happened to in Spaceballs, his name is John Hurt, he is the guy that it happened to an Alien also. There are so many references to great sci-fi movies. Mel Brooks is the master of these kind of spoof movies. He makes them so well so tongue-in-cheek, so sarcastic, and so hilariously funny. Now you’ve got to review his movie Robin Hood: Men In Tights (guess what that’s a spoof of? LOL!). It is really very funny. Thanks again for all your hard work. The last scene of that movie is the human astronaut, played brilliantly by Charlton Heston, Rides on the beach and comes to what used to be the Statue of Liberty, and he realizes that he is on the earth just in a different reality. That’s a fantastic movie too.

I would recommend two movies by Alex Proyas. “The Crow” is a fantastic film (though it sadly took the life of its lead actor (Brandon Lee, son of Bruce Lee)). When Lone Stars' Winnebago appears the song does sound a little bit like Radar Rider by Riggs from the opening of the movie Heavy Metal, in which John Candy voices 3/4 characters depending how you count Dan and Den.

The reference re: metamorphosis (when he gave the command to Kafka for the ship to change into the maid with the vacuum cleaner) - is a nod to Metamorphosis - a novella written by Franz Kafka. I loved your reaction to this hilarious movie. While "The Birdcage" (starring Robin Williams) is not a spoof, it's so much fun and more of a "farce" - which is usually a show, play or movie with absurd situations. For some reason, watching Spaceballs made me think of the Birdcage❣
