I return to this comment every now and then. I live in front of the atlantic ocean. As thebclouds rise above the ocean and get the sunset pinkiah color, i listen to this wonserful piece of art, it takes me far away, to a magic world, beyond the clouds.
It's from Nobunaga's Ambition - Legend of the Supreme Ruler [ Nobunaga no Yabou - Haōden 信長の野望 覇王伝] The Nobunaga games have some of her best early work.
@@noneedtoknowme I believe in Sawano's case it's a whole lot easier. Don't get me wrong, since I first heard his music in Blue Exorcist, I have been one of his biggest fans, but he has a lot of trademark elements that always make it clear that it's him (whether it's the use of female vocals for his more epic songs, the way he employs a piano in his sadder more quiet pieces or in general how he structures his osts for epic moments so that the sound fades out for a short moment of silence to be succeeded by loud solo vocals and following accompaniment.) His last few soundtracks have predominantly featured big orchestral epics with swelling strings and powering drum beats, synths etc. Therefore I do find his recent stuff is much easier to recognize than his earlier work.
skimven4242564 oh yeah definitely. The way he blows you away with his music is what makes me love the anime scenes so much more even if the plot sucks 😂
@@noneedtoknowme Yesss! You're right about that! I remember anituber Demolition D+ once made this video about Aldnoah Zero and attributed the hype moments to Sawano's music as well: ua-cam.com/video/k9h7dsmO38c/v-deo.html Sawano really does elevate the series he's a part of!
Pretty sure part of it is the unique way she employs jazz chords to any kind of music (very evident in this track). The way she does it gives a certain unmistakable warmth to all her pieces.
I cant express how relaxing this piece of music is. I just wish is was raining where I am now so I can really enjoy this.... I love her music ..just like Nujabes and Dj Okawari
The way she makes jazz progressions / melodies seem fitting in all kinds of music is unique... although I've been trying to do the same even before hearing her music, so maybe I'll get there one day.
gotta love how Yoko Kanno-san can turn a simple OST into a super emotional track (although it doesn't mean to be that way, right off the bat! XD). I recognized her work since I listened to Card Captor Sakura OST and got the exact same feeling. Man, she sure is a living legend.
i can see myself sitting on the outside of the small wooden house in the middle of grass field on the mountain, just resting looking on the sunset while enjoying this masterpiece.
I know what you are talkign about. Yoko's music is very recognizable. I'm collecting the pieces that i like most and gabriela robin vocal tracks. Obviously we know who Gabriela is!
remember me a little bit of debussy, but that doesnt matter is a wondefull composition, I am gratefull to hear this kind of relaxing and peacfull music in this unrested times.
Wow...this is such a beautiful song. It sounds like the kind that would either be in Cowboy Bebop or Trigun. Anyone know from which Nobunaga's Ambition game this is from? I'd appreciate the info xD
To some guy in the future who stumble upon this comment, I like you taste bro.
Im that dude from the future. Cheers to good taste in music 🍻

"You can tell that it's Yoko Kanno. I'm not sure how to explain it, but if you're a big fan of her, you just know."
Yep :)
foreeaal. Like in any animation, you can distinguish between either Kanno or Sawano. I don't know how either.

2 other great artists
Years and years and years... Always come back to this. Always so... beyond. Beyond the clouds ;)
As a NieR fan you have great taste in music.
It's amazing how even the breaths taken during it sound like they should be there, they add to the whole beauty of it. It's incredible.
Signature Kanno, a perfect blend of jazz, impressionism and romanticism, with a sprinkling of the experimental and ethnic.
Harry Potter in this song, the jazz was interfering with flamenco and smooth music.
What genres hasn't she done? More importantly, is there any she couldn't do if she put her hand to it? I think not.
BGMだけでこんなに人を魅了するなんて凄いわ

Yoko Kanno can give the blues to any instrument. How? She just does it
her legend begun already, way back then...
Thank you very much dear friend
It's her characteristic harmonies and form and melodies. It just sounds like something she would put together.
Yoko Kanno is a musical genius
What is said in the description box, i feel it 200%.
yes she likes to jump
I just want to fade into nothingness listening to this, it's so... I can't even explain the feeling.

To think that one person can make such songs... I admire Yoko Kanno, for making such beautiful songs!!!

When I have time and get further along in my theory courses, I'll figure it out!!
懐かしく涙が出ます。。。
I've started to explore Kanno's other works because of the brilliant GITS:SAC soundtrack and this is just beautiful.
Her work is definitely awe inspiring
Sin duda una pieza que habla de su origen.
We do know what you mean! Biggest yoko fan here!
Wish this was on Spotify
heavy wit lightheartedness
'cause yoko arranged the music for scaflowne, macross plus and many others anime.
greetings from Chile
So distinct.
What lies beyond the clouds? I will get there and let the people know!

Just Like that Louis Claudel, she creates parallel universes in music
This has a very Maurice Ravel feel to it, imo. I love Yoko Kanno.
grandiose Sweet. Nice to see people who know Maurice Ravel :)
+grandiose What is exactly Ravel here?
I always think this! xD
I've always thought the main theme sounded like Ravel's 2nd Valse Sentimentale. Seems like she was inspired by the piece.
@@jaunecoltrane5572 can you tell me EXACTLY which track in the 2nd valse sentimentale ?
Amazing
She's da best.

anyone know what instruments she used in this music?
Sounds like a shakuhachi flute in there and some kind of bells. A koto in there later on.
A masterpiece! Impossible to find the complete album tho :/
There is a full 30 year anniversary box set floating somewhere on the internet in high quality
that picture reminds me of ogami itto
You must find 4 idiots who clicked dislike, UA-cam should just remove there profile and block them social media and report them lol. I'm just kidding
