He gave everyone hell all throughout 1996 and as a result he helped them set the tempo in the regular season to propel the bulls to a 72-10 record and an NBA title
Rodman was fun to watch, especially if he was on your team. A lot of people didn't like him, but i always thought people were too freakin nosy and jealous. Dennis was Dennis, AND, under a rim, he a monster... Every honest man that loves basketball has to appreciate Rodman's knowledge and talent, in a time when basketball was war. Salut!
I hate LeBron and like the worm but noo he wouldn't. He would definitely get in queen james head and LeBron would end up with 20pts on a bad fg % while the worms team pulled out a win
No he wouldnt. Back then, the game was geared to maximize defense. Today, the game is to maximize offense. He would be tossed for most of his antics today.
When I was a kid use to think Dennis was a dirty terrible player but now I see why Jordan said he had a high basketball IQ, he understood defense rotations and how to disrupt other team shut them down. He didn't even need to score anymore. Phil & Jordan we're wise let Rodman operate how he wanted
I loved this era. MJ and Pip playing cat herder keeping Rodman just on the right side of sanity but still doing what he did best. Blur the rules and play the other team mentally until they cracked :)
Considering he melted down playing against Jason Kidd of all people (Kidd played physical defense, the occasional elbow here and there... but the guy was a midget compared to LeBron), LeBron don't have the mental fortitude to win championships in this era, he would still be dominant for obvious reasons, but he was always weak mentally, he would be Shaq all over again, swept 5 times
Man, so many of the announcers and refs back then seemed to just do Dennis dirty. Like, a lot of these plays are actually pretty clean. It's just that he was a tenacious defensive player, and his opponents couldn't handle him. Like, many of these occasions when he gets tangled up with someone going for a rebound? Rodman is going for the ball while his opponents are searching for fouls knowing they got beat. I was never much of a Bulls fan, but I did love watching their games just because they had such a dynamic team. Strong defensive games are way more entertaining than the boring shooting matches we often have these days.
Dennis Rodman is a master of basketball psychology..he knew how to play the "bad guy" role and get under opponents skin, he understood clock management and got away with fouls more times than he got caught..so much fun to watch
Rodman was a hard to love player if he was not on your team, but he had a special skill that played well in the era of basketball he was in. You did not have to like him, but you had to deal with him because he was the absolute best at what he did. He was an instigator, but no one could beat him to a contested rebound, he did not give up. The end of his career was more of a show, but the Piston/Bull timeline was his zenith.
I loved Dennis' passion in the game. And in the game, emotions run high. But so many altercations took place outside the lines and after the whistle, that you cannot help but see the man was a bit of a loose cannon.
Rodman’s hall of fame speech was deep. I’m a life long suns fan so I hated him growing up along with all the other bulls. But after listening to him speak I have a ton of respect for the guy.
Hearing the announcers back them speaking on Rodman all with negative under tones and a lot direct but speak on Rodman today and he is considered one of the BEST defensive players of the game and is NOW highly respected....Just like there will never be another Jordan, Bryant, or James, there will NEVER be another Rodman
People say DR was the biggest flopper/actor on the court, but that camera man in Minnesota was the real Oscar winner! Dennis kicked him in the outside of his leg and he immediately grabbed his junk as if Dennis just kicked him there. All the news stories said Rodman kicked the guy in the groin as of it wasn't ON CAMERA! Not saying what Dennis did was right, it wasn't, but the media just fed off him and made that out to be so, so much worse than it was.
Psy 101: Being angry will not always make you perform better. The distraction separated talent and skill. Laettner was skilled enough to ignore Rodman while others (like Sura)...not as much. He then preyed on that distraction and let you react and respond to your anger while he played the victim. That's how he showed that these superstars were human. Did you see what happened to Sura? He gave the Bulls the advantage with Sura out of the game. That's Rodman's cerebral approach to the game.
Man Mike was a competitive monster, which is one of the many things that makes him the G.O.A.T. Not sure if this has already been commented on, but did anybody else peep him very assertively shoving Kukoc’s hand away from helping Shaq up at the 7:49 mark and probably cussed him out reminding him he has teammates for that. My how times have changed. Todays NBA the opposing player probably would’ve offered him a band aid after helping him up😂 and got his jersey after the game. I’ll take ole’ school NBA over today’s “load management” NBA any day.
I didn't see anything dirty. Annoying as hell, yep I saw a lot of that. That was part of his game. Get under the skin of the guy your guarding and make him foul you and if he did it right he'd make them lose their cool and get elected from the game. Thats basketball Dennis Rodman style 😎
I dont get why people keep saying Dennis Rodman would kill lebron like he lbj can't handle his own Rodman is a great defensive player but Rodman wouldn't last in the game if be fouling like he do
Nothing will ever beat 90's basketball.
Late 80’s-90’s NBA was by far the greatest the league has had.
Rodman is a key to Chicago Bulls success -not just Mike. 🤣🤣🤣
pippen dont get enough rec too
Da Bulls won 3 championships without Rodman and 3 with him.
The dude at 10:35 snapping pictures and scrolling as fast as he can on the disposable camera. Love the 90's
I SAW THAT TOO!!!
The yellow disposable joint.
Classic.
I swear I could hear and feel the rotating reeling knob thing as he was doing it in between pictures lol
60 frames a min
Dennis instigating and then walking away calmly. Name a better duo.
6:19 MJ and Rodman's reaction to a flop is hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
Watch the knees make contact before the jump. He didn’t flop, he got fucked up.
Knee to knee hurts as hell, but who cares, the opponent does not deserve any kind of sympathy
He gave everyone hell all throughout 1996 and as a result he helped them set the tempo in the regular season to propel the bulls to a 72-10 record and an NBA title
Good old fashion basketball. I love how Rodman plays. He is the goat at rebounding!!!
Rodman and Jordan looking at Zo at 6:18 is funny as hell
They look at him like…what a bitch.
@@bryansmith7238 exactly lol

What the fuck else is he gonna do he couldn’t fight his way out of a paper bag and if he couldn’t rebound a basketball he’d be homeless
Dennis had a very high basketball IQ.
Rodman had on mission - Get that ball, by any means necessary , man did he come into his own with the Bulls
Rodman was like a dog on a leash thatMj and Pippen held. See how Jordan and Pippen always laugh when he does his antics...they planned that.
Rodman was fun to watch, especially if he was on your team. A lot of people didn't like him, but i always thought people were too freakin nosy and jealous. Dennis was Dennis, AND, under a rim, he a monster...

What Dennis the Menace was the shisnit ssh jump grab a rebound then knock yo head off with one of them damn elbows 😂
LeBron is so lucky he didn't play in this era. Rodman would have crippled his dreams.
Haha 😂

He will flopped in 48 minutes
You can tell how strong Rodman is the way he restrains the guy he just pissed off.
It’s like he’s just toying with them no matter how big they are.
Draymond Green is thankful now because Rodman is not playing in his Era
I don't think I ever saw Rodman throw a punch. He was the master.
this brought me back to my childhood lmao!!! Loved every second of this video!!!!
I’m glad you liked it my man
I love how Dennis walks away calmly...

I cant imagine how lebron gonna manage rodman if they played in the same era.
He will just cry to his referee buddies.
Lebron would easily be a bench player in this era. There is no way he could keep up with these old school dudes.

The cameraman trying to get paid. 😂😂
He was the one breaking the tempo of the other team, and jordan's performance just demoralizes them completely.
