93 will work great! you must live somewhere where you're close to sea level. I have done a lot of testing on fuel mileage where I live in Colorado. I tend to get better gas mileage when I use 87 I live at 8500 ft. The closer you are to sea level there is more oxygen it actually will benefit you to run 91 or 93. but at altitude there's no oxygen and high octane fuels end up being a waste of money. Your truck is awesome! I will get a lift kit like that someday but maybe not as big it wouldn't fit my garage 😂.
Yeah I’m out here in SC. I cant imagine me being on e85 in high altitude lol. But yea man I was trying to do some work to the truck the other day and realized I forgot I couldn’t fit in the garage lol
@@TFBJFord e 85 actually does really good at high altitude and sea level if you're only trying to make horsepower. My race car I have a Corvette with a big turbo is running on e85. The good thing about e85 is it burns super cool but you need twice the amount of fuel to create the power. For instance my Corvette running on e85 probably only gets about 6 mi to the gallon. The car is making 1,500 wheel horsepower. You usually will need to get a secondary fuel system and a good tuner to set the parameters correctly. The other big factor for me is why I don't use e85 on a daily driver because the fuel is very hard to find at every gas station. Have fun with your awesome truck be safe out there Cheers!

Not quite like Colorado elevation but im planning to make a trip up there one day to see how it is with higher elevation. I been driving on e85 for the past 3 months. I been enjoying it although I’m at the gas station a lot more often. But it’s not my daily. And appreciate it my man. You do the same !

Love those tires! I got the same ones. I get a couple compliments on the cool tread pattern. They have great traction even going through water. They're a bit louder than usual but I don't really care this tire is well worth it!

As a previous commenter has said, it’s really not necessary to run higher octane fuel in an engine designed to run 87. Octane ratings are based on the fuel’s resistance to detonation. This is why the higher end European cars run 93 a lot. They have higher compression ratios thus need a fuel more resistant to detonation. Running a lower octane fuel in a car made to run on premium can damage the engine.
No It is not a necessity BUT for better performance it is recommended. Even the manual says that. I also get better gas mileage running 93. I made a video talking about it and showing the difference. It was only slightly 3 mpg better but still made a gain.
It’s opinions based. I use e85 now though instead.

I been running 93 as well since I had my truck. 2016 sport 5.0 22x12 on 35s I’m getting 15mpg on a 3”. This is good info bro. Not sacrificing much mpg to go 14 wide lol Love your truck.

How do you only have a 3 in lifted and 12 wides
08 Silverado 2wd with a 4.8, 4l60e trans 3.73 gear ratio. It is lifted on a rough country 7.5 lift with 22x12 on 35” with a -51 offset and gets anywhere from 12-14 mpg.

Had a Ram 1500 6" lift on 35 Nittos with 20x12 wheels. Typically got anywhere from 10.5 to 13.5mpg. You doing good with that

If your vehicle can run premium... run premium. It actsully is better for the engine over time.

You don’t need 93 octane. Only useful for high compression engines to resist detonation. Your V8 is not a high compression engine. It’s not about gas milage, it’s about cost per mile. Run the numbers and see what you come up with. Cheers.

I got 20- 12.5 on mine and I'm getting right at 14.5 mpg.... your truck looks good, mine ain't as nice.....I got 33 inch tires and just a leveling kit, but I love mine....my cherry bomb exhaust sounds good as hell too!!!!!

i fill up with e85 currently getting $1+ cheaper per gallon; just filled up $2.99 per gallon. i get less mpg but with prices these days im still saving lots of money. on 87 i get about 15mpg on 33s
I been telling myself that I was going to try e85 one day. Heard it burns a lot quicker though. May try it on my next fill up
@@TFBJFord ill get about 13 on e85 and 15 on e87 or 465 vs 540 miles per tank with my 36 gallons. But ill tell you e85 its WAY more responsive/faster, seems the truck actually likes it better! If 85 is only 20 cents cheaper by you then just do 87 these 5.0s want 85/87 when i put 93 it burns faster than 87 imo

Got a 2020 myself an threw a lift on it, ordered some 24x12 ARKON’s and 37x13.5 Renegade RT’s. Should be here first of next month. Gonna try an fire up some videos with it an log the build going forward.
Right now it has 20x10 Fuels an 35x12.5’s, I average about 18mpg to an from work. Old rims/tires combined weigh 116 new ones will be 133, curious to see what the difference will be.

I live in S Missouri where we have lots of hills, and I get 18 to 25 mpg @ 65mph on Standard drivers setting(not Eco) on 87octane....

Appreciate it man and I haven’t ran premium ones awhile now. Premium was better for me gas mileage wise and efficiency but pocket wise nooo especially during the gas spike but prices have came down a lot now. Tried 87 once and didn’t like it. But I’ve been running e85 lately for the past few months and I like it a lot. Burns a little faster but that’s okay.
Nice truck my youth, i just did 2.5 bilstein suspension lift front to back on a 21 ram and am riding on 33×12.5 with some 20x10 fuel rims way different from factory.

What size is your fuel tank? Gas here is about the same where you are. I put 93 in my truck too and don't even come close to spending $130.00 to fill up. Mine is a 2018 STX super crew 4x4. Most I have ever spent was about $80.00 when I let it go to E.

Possibly. I’ve heard that’s been the case for some people. I actually just tuned the truck a month ago and that helped a lot. Made a huge difference
