What does Hóokipa do for a kiteboarding kite? Turns out quite a kite for this particular design.
Rygo and Abby Vandenberg chat about their experience using these kites and what you can expect from the latest iteration of the original one strut kite.

love my Ultra 8m for foiling in anything from 10 - 20kn. The only criticism is that sand gets in the bridle pulleys and jams them, so a pulley-less bridle makes alot of sense to me. Looking forward to trying it!

Hey guys, how is the Ultra on bar pressure? Battling some issues with carpal tunnel and arthritis (I'm 52). I've heard the Ultras are really light on the bar, easy to steer so its on my radar. Actually just for twin tipping. Thanks

Hi Rygo, you said you use 10m for foil. for what wind range do you use 10m? I have 100 kg, 1200 cm foil,

I think the lowest I’ve taken my 10m was 10-11 knots or something close to that. I had to hot launch the kite. I’m usually around 86 kg. Usually 1300 foil.

Hi, good review. Do you have any tips for relaunching it in super light winds? It doesn't seem to like rolling on to a tip like my friends code zero. Is it best to go for a reverse launch? Thanks.

Use the opposite outer and inner line to roll the kite on its back. Then you can sail it deep and get a tip to catch wind. Works on all kites actually.
