Nice build! I went with a 4:90.1 gear in the transfer case and lovin’ it with 31x10.50’s and a shackle reversal that made it drive like dream. Love them Sammy’s!

Just picked up an 87 ton top, all factory. Plan on daily driving it so my mods won't be near what you have. Probably just a 3" lift and larger tires. You Zuk looks fantastic!

Mark, my friends timing belt jumped, and was told not to use the tensioning spring again. After lining up everything up, and put it back together it won't start up. Any thoughts on what could be the problem? Thanks for any help!

Hey David, tell you bud the marks have to be dead, dead straight
Check teeth on all gears, all have to be almost perfect to time properly, check points condenser, wires, cap,rotor, coil,everything electrical. Probably to late through. Hopefully it's running, there way to nice to just sit. Out.....

Man i have one with all the eng. mods like u but it has toy axles. My bone stock one fits where the toy axles cant. I never woulda thought.. Amazing difference. Toyota axles are stronger & look way cooler, but sami axles make them an affordable reliable side-by-side w/up to 31s in my opinion.

It has been used by many others before me, there are lots out there you can buy that's are bolt on. These cards are very tunable and can achieve great performance in high performance applications. Zuksoffroad has them

just subbed to your channel. that's a nice tin top you have. I like the set up, and I think you said you have Toyota axles in it now. I have a couple of samurai's myself. { had 4 at one time but sold 2}. I use a 2.3 ford in mine. not partial to the ford brand, but I use them because they are still light weight and you can get pretty good horse power from them. they make a lot of after market parts for the 2.3 because they ran them at the circle tracks a lot.
I also live in florida just above ft myers.
your project is lookin good, keep up the good work. do we ever get satisfied with the build? always one more up grade to make, or one more change, good luck and be safe. where do you wheel it at?

Very nice! My buddies 88 that just jumped the timing. The spring popped off, and was told to not use it. He put a new belt on it, and lined up the timing marks. It still will not start. Any thoughts on what could be wrong? Please help! Thanks!

David Regan Pull the distributor and then line up the marks both at 12 0clock. then drop the distributor back in with the rotor pointing at post #4. you will have to take the cap off to see, but it should be right about where the wires come out. try that and let me know

OK It runs now! Thank you, but the ignition beeps when it runs, and won't shut off. What would that be? My buddy is so happy he wants to kiss me! LOL He's been walking for over a week now!

David Regan I'd say maybe take out the ignition and clean it and all the contacts and such. try that and go from there

Jon Snarr I built it from the kit I got from Trail gear. the gears alone are over 500 and the rebuild kit is another 100 plus the HD output shaft is about 130. then wrap it in the snatch case that's another 230..lol

Change that alternator out. Kit $125. Low Range Offroad. You can't run lights with that alternator in there....just and idea. My 87 runs so much better with more amps.
