Khloe helped make the unrealistic standards and expectations that she now denounces and criticizes. Khloe looks completely fine in "the photo" but it's not the Khloe that she portrays in the media, making it a blemish on her profile. The entire Kardashian family has profited off people with low self-esteem by making naturally unattainable features the beauty norm, all while spewing "body positivity". Khloe did not deserve the harassment she received, but she was given a taste of what she helped create.

Maybe the reason why Khloe wants the photo to be taken down is that after years of torment from her mother, her mom telling her “this is what you’re supposed to look like”, she actually *believes* that that is her. She doesn’t recognize herself in a selfie without photoshop. It’s just a theory, however, but if it were true, that’s really sad.

It’s really horrific how much this affects women. They are bullied for having normal bodies that naturally don’t fit the standard. Then they are shamed for doing anything they can to achieve the standard by the same people who made that standard. And those who don’t try to adapt to the standard are shamed as well. Making this cycle of women trying anything to achieve something impossible. I often hear people who shame women that they will be shamed anyway so it’s ok when they do it. It’s an example of how abuse against women is so normalized in our society. It should not be a controversial thing to ask that we live in a world where women are not shamed and persecuted for existing.

i really appericate you doing a video on this problem, and show more appreciation for you to even consider talking about your own experiences. While I am curious about your journey, I don't want you to rip yourself apart over it. I struggle with a lot of body image issues mostly due to the bmi scale that makes me feel fat constantly. I never watched or followed the Kardashians but I found myself comparing myself asking why my waist wasn't as tiny as theirs. I watched my own weight go up in horror like it wasn't supposed to happen, like my body wasn't supposed to grow as I aged. I went from the toothpick of the group to an average build which honestly terrified me. I still struggle to fight this image and I'm still terrified to grow. Thanks unrealistic beauty standards :)

I find it sus Khloe is being relatively singled out as causing horrible beauty standards--she's one of the few women actually roasted as being "ugly" all the time in that industry, even have literal songs alluding to her looks negatively. She's singled out as the "ugly one" in a family whose clout is so heavily tied into glowing up, posturing, etc.--she's basically going along with it because that's literally what she's been raised to be. There's 1000000s+ of girls now that look so much better than her (conventionally) still using extensive photoshop (incl. rich and poor girls) to post to social media.
Guess what? They make me way more insecure--because I notice how people treat them.
Money doesn't change the fact that Khloe has gotten millions of comments disparaging her looks alone.

There isn't anything wrong with getting plastic surgery so you feel more comfortable in your own skin, the problem is when you say all of it is from natural hard work. Yes hard work can help you appear more fit or whatever you want but you can't ever be what the Kardashians are without some form of body modification.

As someone who was the ugly duckling of the family, I do genuinely wish Khloe peace. However, all of this demonstrates much deeper and sinister problems

I believe that the beauty industry would survive without having to rely on insecurities that stem from beauty standards. I still think there would still be a profitable amount of people buying makeup, skincare products, fitness and even plastic surgeries without the "perfect body" having to loom over the consumer.
But why settle for that, why not exploit insecurities to the point where the standard is literally impossible and you're making so much money generations of your family after you don't have to work a day in their life of they don't want to.
Victims turned perpetrator are complex situations. On one hand Khloe's been taking crap for years is it really a surprised that she eventually caved especially after a divorcem On the other hand Khloe is hurting ppl the same way her sisters have, and also there is no longer a Kardashian that was "achievable" to the avarage woman. What I mean by that is she wasn't literally perfect which goes a long way considering the lengths fans have gone through to look like her sisters when it's all photoshop. I wish ppl would just own that they do to look the way they do, and I do mean *all* no more "just natural beauty and exercise" nah just say you edited the photos too even if it was just to enhance the colors.
Also I'm already familiar Streisand effect but I think a video about it would be interesting, especially since it's always fun to hear examples of ppl figuratively stepping on a rake + there's a discussion to be had over when celebrities should bring attention to something and when they should just let it go.
