As I sat here watching Bitt3rsteel conquer the far corners of the world, I asked myself, what is preventing him from executing these strategies in real life? Has anyone checked in on this guy to understand his capabilities? Are we so wrapped up in the threat of Covid-19 that we are overlooking one of the greatest threats humanity has known?
idk, but taureor's strategies would be WAY scarier, imagine going to war with some small country and on the first day all of your army was killed by some random people guarding your cities and instantly your country surrenders

I know this is an older video but I want to say I found this extremely helpful!
My playthrough challenges/discoveries: Greece and Yugo get declared on if you capitulate UK to early they both joined the United Front and ruined 2 of my games as I didn't want to have to fight axis puppets in Asia. I manually justified and declared on them both alongside the French for their Chinese port just to include them an keep the axis out of China. They also joined even if I left the axis.
2) Promises of Peace is BROKEN with the Porto Brazilians thanks to their spirit for war support. You can have peace time stability banked up for all wars for essentially free mid game.
I3) didn't order 66 Japan in the end but I did keep my paratroopers around and quickly capitulated their puppets as they have no air force and then paratrooped Japan. I also managed a cheesy Puppet of Great Britain in Ceylon alongside my Raj so I had a good navy once I annexed them.

I tried this Achievement about 30 Times. Didn't even think it was possible on historical game mode, because you start out so slow, but with this it was a breeze. Guess I am still just too much of a narrow thinker and try to cram too much into too little. Still though. Well done and thank you! only 6 more achievements remaining. (Until they suddenly release 20 new ones)
Also quick little note, since I just found out, apparently you loose all your planes, if somebody naval invades you and the airport in Lisbon is your only one and your planes are there, even if you are in a faction.... sooooo... watch out for that.

Out of curiosity, why did you choose to satellite the Raj instead of giving it all to your collaboration government? You would've gotten way more factories and way more manpower (the collaboration government doesn't have the Raj's negative national spirits)

For some reason, the option to take land from the Raj wasn't available in the peace deal when ibwas recording. Either a bug or a warscore issue. Bitnyou are right, giving them the land would be much more beneficial, but if that doesn't work, securing the Raj as a puppet is still a good deal
I assume it's possible he never fought the Raj. If you don't engage in combat with a minor or a puppet inside their cores, they can't be annexed. I never saw him send any divisions to India. One or two would have sufficed.

Cool guide I always love watching your guides. Especially loved the naval invasion of Brazil. Shaved off a month (and saved lots of equipment probably) compared to just landing and circling with cavalry-only units that Feedbackgaming suggested.
But unfortunately, the chance of this working before Allies even capitulate probably is like less than 25%...
First, Germany often doesn't justify on Benelux until they are nearly done with Poland, and are done taking the entire region by the time you are done justifying on France (45 days). By the time your armies arrive in German soil, they often are literally knocking their doors in Paris. I tried your guide once just now, and by the time my units arrived to a tile next to Paris before even attacking, France capitulated. lol.
One option to alleviate this is justify on Spain when world tension hits 50%. UK will usually justify. Go to war with them and don't invite Axis. You can easily get 15-20% war contribution when you beat Spain. Aiming for 20% war contribution when in Axis faction seems to be a generally safe benchmark to be able to get the tiles in China.
Secondly, paratrooping is seriously flipping a coin, in terms of getting the air superiority over UK. I pumped out as many fighters as possible following the guide, close to 1000, but literally an hour after I send them on Air Superiority mission to Southern England... there's like 1600+ fighters waiting for me (nvm the anti-air stations). I don't know, I had the paratroopers run the mission before even flying the planes, but they never took off lol.
One option that's slightly more reliable... naval invasion from Spain (La Coruna) to Cardiff. or France (Dunkerque) to Dover area.
Thinking back, I guess there were tons of planes waiting in Southern England precisely because France capitulated so quickly.
Actually, it's quite easy to get superiority over england. Just don't send any fighters. Then, click paradrop and send fighters. MINDBLOWN!!!!

I think there's a strong argument for not beelining The Kingdom Reunited and pick up the extra research slot first instead. Comparing two runs, one where I picked the National Focus order suggested here, and one where I went Estado Novo -> A Royal Wedding -> Continue the Public Works -> Instituto Superior Técnico -> The Return of Duarte ..., by 1 Dec 1937, the second order got me 1 extra tech, 5 extra civ factories and 2 extra dockyards at the cost of 2 mil factories, because postponing reunification by 140 days allowed Brazil to pick up 2 extra efforts.

Just a fyi, Macau is pronounced as Ma-Ka-U. Ma as in mama, ka as in Kant the philosopher, and u as in uzi. Love your achievement videos. It makes the game much clearer with your videos.

@@Bitt3rSteel Well, actually when you form the kingdom of Spain, you make a focus that leads to a decision that asks you to choose the future king of the country. You have to go with the Bourbon, Javier I, and eventually conquer all of the french mainland territories. :)

This still works but you've to take into account some reworks.
You can naval invade the UK if you take ships in the peace deal with Brazil and conquer Nationalist Spain once WW2 begins and take their ships as well. Move your units to Wilhelmshaven and naval invade around, not through the English Channel. You've easily enough industry and men to do it. Change your occupation law in Macau to Cilvilian oversight as well so they become a collab early.
I stayed in the Axis and ate Vichy France as well for more factories.
As an added boost to this strategy: Give all Indian cores to the collab government based in Goa rather than puppeting the Raj. Your Indian collab has cores on all of India and can get around the risk of famine/agrarian society modifiers that the Raj gets, giving you a 4m manpower puppet to either drain or deploy through colonial divisions.
I just tried to do this. I managed to beat the allies and got a lot of war score, bc i was doing the pushing into france. I dont know how but when i then tried to take on china, japan was almost pushed out of korea and had like 20 div left. So when i tried to attack the clique they had most of their divisons stacked against me. I got pushed out in a second and lost most of my divisons :( so i guess unlucky japan :/ PS: still a great guide tho
It's okay. A little practise will yield great results. and your templates will be vastly superior to anything the chinese nations can muster. Artillery shreds them
You should return to Portugal someday. I tried to aply this to today's HoI4, and it doesn't work anymore (but mabye it's just my skill issue).
I know I am around 3 years late, but in case you (Bitt3rsteel or even a random viewer) sees this, it would be better to give british raj to your puppet as their agrarian society mp debuff would be removed, and the main focus tree would be better than the current

Followed everything accurately till the invasion of UK. I forgot to make paratroopers even though I had made transport planes. Instead I invaded Liverpool with the 55--odd ship decent navy(from my mainland). Half my divisions got sunk but I landed unopposed and then I quickly shipped in other troops. Meanwhile my entire navy got sunk except a few subs.
IMPORTANT: I forgot to call my puppet China into the war and thus couldn't give them hongkong and other province. I later returned those provinces to communist China and gave them to my puppet in final peace deal.
I had only 3 doctrines researched by 1941-end, so I decided to wait a bit and get my research done. In the meantime Japan had conquered like 50% of China. I deployed 400 dummy 1-inf battalion divisions giving me 18 divisions limit to send in as volunteers against Japan. I killed like 70% of Japanese army and drove them out of Korea, but still Japanese AI didn't peace out of war against China. By 1943 I declared against China and did 2 landings and since there were no Japanese on the mainland, came under heavy Chinese barrage. Then I got lucky. US just surprised landed in Hokkaido and took down Japan in 2 months, thanks to me already killing most of their army. China took parts of Japan and Taiwan in peace deal with US. So now my task was very simple - just take down main China and give states to my puppet. Also, another thing I'd advise is make only 2 "14/4" armies at max and say 4-5 "7/2" ones. The supply is just too bad. And always keep logistics research up to date. Don't forget to call the Macau China into Chinese war. Also I had already declared against Japan before it capitulated but had a war score of 0%. So basically you can declare war against Japan, and the axis will be at war with Japan. Also, in the final peace deal, there were only 2 members in my game - me and my Macau puppet.
At the time ww2 breaks out, the UK often tends to dominate the skies. I can only gain green air over either the channel or england, making the paradrop impossible
Possibly paradox finally tweaked the AI a little. Try moving all your planes to a different airzone. Usually the AI responds by doing the same to counter you giving you an opportunity.

Releasing Angola and Mozambique is a good Idea considering you get a ton of dockyards from Them, I got Six after their first focus and if you have enough dockyards you can go for a fifth research slot
Yes, Ive since come to the same conclusion. LR really did change a great deal about annexing Vs purporting or colabs
I did follow your guide as much as possible, but of course, Italy did attack Greece and Yugoslavia and then China invited them to the United Front and Japan did attack on of my puppets, even though we did have an no aggression pact.

Why did you choose the monarchist route instead of the Fifth Empire for this? It literally has a focus to gain more of China.
Because monarchist is best, of course! Also, Chunky Brazil.

@@Bitt3rSteel in the fifth empire you can get brazil as well. Foreign opinion is greatly decreased, but overall the fifth empire can be really beneficial

Not sure if this needs updating, but Brazil immediately flips fascist right away. Do we need spies and more time before taking Brazil in the civil war?

Hello bittersteel, i tried it but UK had A LOT of units, there were 3-5 british units in every province. Their navy destroyed my industry and i couldn't defeat them.

My hot take here was to claim on Frances guaranteed nations rather quickly yes there's a longer Europe war but you don't have to bother with GB plus releasing/taking the French colonial land gives you more MP and guaranteed trading partners. From there blitz japan first then take china on. fighting united front is easier after japan fights them than betraying japan to fight an unopposed axis.
What happens if you trigger the civil war in Portugal when becoming monarchist?
In the allies peacedeal i can only "satellite" 1 RAJ tile. The rest is only annexable. Thats bad. But i puppeted the UK into one tile too, giving me their navy. But it only created 1 tile, just like with the raj satellite. I cant build much there so i didnt manage to annex them
Oh dear. it could have something to do with war participation. I haven't had this happen myself, at least with the UK, so i can't really tell you when went wrong there...
Literally about to Ragequit. I couldn't get aerial supremacy (70%) over the English Channel so my paratroopers never launched.Attempted multiple naval invasions but the ports were to well guarded for my simple 7-2 divisions. Any advice? It's February 1941 already and I can't break the deadlock.
I've found that moving your fighters somewhere that isn't on the flight path, makes the UK contest them in that zone, freeing up the route to Dover. You have to do it early enough though, because eventually the UK AI will have built so many,that they can afford to deathstack every airzone
@@Bitt3rSteel Yeah I realized that but the German AI was being weird AF with their planes and ruined it. They'd put like 20 over Norway, then deathstack the English Channel a day later and lose hundreds of Fighters and keep death stacking it.
Excellent guide with minor alterations as youve stated. The decision to for the factory focuses seem to me be more based on your preferred strategy or RP.
-Do you want just raw factories in 70 days? Go food industry...for RP purposes you're the best king/communist/representative/fascist that feed and clothes his people for a reliable price. Especially in this time period.
-Or...go the modernization route with half the factories, a permanent +10% construction buff, and two boosts to industry research. This becomes scary with concentrated industry. For RP purposes you import/develop more and more advanced technology allowing the Portuguese to rival any major power as by 1939-40 (if you got concentrated and focused it) your factories output makes the United States/Soviet Union mega-factories seem like dwarfs in comparison. (90% with free trade)
-Both double output and both require investment of time after the focus to fully implement. As one gives 4 factories and the other gives 2 factories (that produce like 4) with buffs. So whichever is more conducive to your style and resource focus.
Could you make a revised version without Order 66? Too exploitey, even for me.
1. Puppet Britain.
2. Integrate Britain
3. Use appropriated navy to curbstomp Japanese navy
4. Naval invasion of the home islands

I tried it this way and then it worked.. but takes much more time :( So it works: When you takt the focus "Monarchist Uprising in Brasil" you get an extra decision (25 pp) you boost Support for Non-Aligned over 50 % and THEN you fire the Empire of Brasil event. Unfortunately that takes until 1939 then.. Maybe a better is to go fascist and take over Spain maybe right after the civil war is over?
The only bad part is you can only give it Chinese land in a peace conference.

Trick the AI, by either not having planes up untill everything is ready. Then click the arrow to launch the Paradrops. Then send out fighters. UK will contest,but by that time you will have Paradrops going from the split second of superiority.
Or lure their fighters away by sending your planes to an irrelevant area, UK will usually follow,thew quickly switch back and launch airdrops

Try updating, iirc they changed how compliance works for unaligned in 1.9.2, making you able to actually get colabs

It took me forever because I had to defeat Spain, France, Russia, Betrayed Germany, Japan, Italy, British Empire & Free India....damn India made 3 China puppets, if they hadn't done that the Allies wouldn't have crossed the mega Porto-Brazil.
What a headache...
@@Bitt3rSteel Yeah but in the end I was very pleased so it was worth it, I've been playing around with different ships lately and I highly recommend 1944 Heavy Cruisers, Light Cruisers with triple main Guns & dual purpose guns & Destroyers with lots of torpedoes and dual purpose guns, the enemy fleets got completely messed up, supported them on the coast with fighters.
Can you do this in non historical? Maybe, Japan becomes non aligned and doesn't attack China.
Probably, but I prefer to work with historical, so the strategy is less reliant on RNG

Yeah, all Chinese cores. It's not as bad as it sounds, since you can just take them off Japan. You hold Macau and Japan will size Guangzhou and Hong Kong during ww2

I cant get my collab government on time for any war... Japan tried to invade Philipines but also Russia, a german puppet at the time. Just got some weird three way invasion of Japan by me, III Reich and USA. Now I guess i should try invading all of the axis. Pf.
Guide got broken by pdx tweeking idology so now you need to do Portuguese monarchy first the rush Brazilian monarchy you have around 100 days before Brazil change to fascist after the civil war
I reunited Portugal and Brazil 4 times the last two days to optimise my strategy, and not one did I have this problem.

I tried annexing Brasil but they turned Fascist and I could not unite them under my country, still working out my way around, even tried throuygh spies to boost non aligned popularity, brazils response was to boost fascist popularity even more, FML

You still can rush a Brazilian Empire, but you need to wait a little when Rio will fall and then start invasion. There may be a few fights but nothing difficult. Annex Brazil and release as puppet.

Word of advice to people using this as a guide, dont rush the Brazilian civil war anymore. the Brazilian AI will let the Fascists take over, effectively knee capping you
