Thanks for watching! Just wanted to point out this watch is a prototype and some elements are a little rough. I have been assured these issues will not be present on the production models. Hey, thanks for the feedback. We actually visited our manufacturing partners last week to address the issues on the prototype with the dials, hands, and movement screws, so these issues won’t be present in any production watches!

Definitely my style. I like most everything about this except for thinking about spending on another watch! 😜. It’s beautiful IMO.
Checked them out a few days ago. I mean 1600 is a decent amount of money but think is a great value for what the watch contains. Imagine their profit margin is very small and it’s a beautiful piece. Personally would take it over a ming.

I happen to own the Retter 22, which is their other, first watch. It’s a very nice integrated bracelet style. I also own a Ming and this one is as nice if not nicer looking with better specs. You absolutely cannot beat the price of this, especially compared to the Ming, when the 22 was announced or pre-order, it was during Covid and it took quite a while for the finished product. But the owners of Retter were extremely communicative during the process. I was hoping they would come out with another watch and this one is simply a beautiful dress watch.

Man, those blued screws look chewed up on the micro shots. Still a very cool watch.
Gold part of dial has a Piaget splash.
The slight roughness under macro actually doesn't bother me too much, given the sub 2k price, but the minutes and seconds hand both feel a bit too short, don't they?
I miss the days of ultra thin dress watches, there used to be so many! Nowadays I can only think of the Longines La Grande Classique at 5.40 mm.

Okay, should I thank you, or block your channel at this point... I just ordered this model in the gold as reviewed. Sometimes a design and its execution are simply too tempting to pass up. I found that to be the case with this one. Like i need another dam watch... Thanks, I guess... ;)
Ouch those hands. You can see the opposite of all the hands it still has some metal overhang from where it was clipped off. 2 seconds and a little grinding would get rid of that. It's on all 3 hands...

Are you seeing the Horrible Mess? dust, debris on hands and Dial. Gouges and Scratches on the Movement screws that are clearly NOT "Heat Treated Blued Screws"? If their watch Makers can't avoid chewing up Screws ( like an Amateur Seiko Modd'er), how can anyone believe anything about how good this Watch is. Yes it's thin, and a cool looking watch, but if this is the best Example of what they sent you to Showcase and Review...I'm pretty Sure what goes out to any one that is willing to Purchase one, is probably going to be Highly Disappointed. $1595 (Pre-ordered) is a Joke for this Watch if it's sent out like the One you are showing. If they Clean this watch up, I would pay More if ...... QC is Addressed.
Hey there, we’ve worked to make sure the issues you mentioned won’t be present on the production models! The scratch on the movement screw was caused by improper practice during movement assembly, and is also something that has been addressed. Hope that clears some things up!
Hello, and thanks for this video. It''s always a pleasure to discover a new microbrand. And especially on your channel. But I don't what, perhaps is it about the "corne de vache" lugs, perhaps is it about indexes, perhaps is it about something else, ... but ... there is something wrong about this Retter Mistral. And, at the end, this watch looks too expensive, $1,600.00, for what it gives. ... Not for me.
Retter seems to be a designer who is the manufacturer?
There's potential here but also room for improvement. All of the hands are short. Something about the tones of the gold and cream dont quite work together color wise. I do like the case and how thin it is. Definitely things i appreciate about it but it also doesn't really blow me away.

Too much going on with the dial - textures, shapes, colour tones - that it doesn't flow visually, and the logo is too intrusive sizewise. Sometimes less is more...

I would not have expected to see a tiny hair present at the 18 minutes mark on the dial, or the centre discs of the hands with rough edges to them (all on the macro) for a $1600 watch! It's a nice looking watch overall, although the gold dial really does remind me of 1970's wallpaper (sorry). The slimness of the case is very cool. However, I'd also kind of expect an automatic movement for this price. Overall it just doesn't quite look good enough for $1600, compared to other watches in this price range. Not that I could afford one anyway, because although $1600 may not be a lot for this sort of watch, it'd be way more than I could ever afford. Great review though.

Lol, to say "microbrand pricing" is quite a leap considering Maen, Nivada Grenchen, and Christopher Ward have models that are way cheaper! Independent yes, Micro brand no way!
Yea and those brands also use lesser movements and have models that cost way more then this. Christopher ward has 5k$ watches..what are u talking about?
If you listen to the first 45secs of this video he differentiates very clearly what a microbrand is and an independent! All of the brands i listed started with watches under $895 models and grew from there. This would constitute them as a microbrand. ming is an independent. This company has only 2 watches to date. I would constitute this as an independent because of the price tag of there 1st 2 watches. Nice movements and finishing, higher price point, independent period!

Nice watch but ultra thin, no it's not. We're all used to thick automatics but hand wounds can be thinner. I have a 1963 Citizen Hi line that is under 7mm.
I disagree. Please name another watch that a 7 mm thick with 100 m of water resistance and a display case back with a layered dial. Oh and a slightly domed sapphire crystal in the front... It's definitely not easy
