Its very similar to the bible. In the same way the most powerful created spirit Lucifer was the most powerful and he rebelled and was cast down. Tolkien was a devout christian he got many ideas from the bible which is 3500 years old. Melkor is basically Lucifer and Morgoth is Satan. Manwe and Gandalf share a likeness with JEsus.

Just how in the world one animates concepts like those put forth in the first chapters of the Silmarillion, stands as a feat unto itself. But of all those I've seen, this one seems to be the most adept at showing something beautiful and complex, while still remaining just vague enough to allow to viewer to let their imagination do the heavy lifting. Brilliantly done, truly this is a loving tribute to the work of John Ronald Reuel Tolkien.

At the outset of all things, there was only the Void, an endless expanse of nothingness. But then, from the depths of emptiness, a pure and clear melody emerged sung by divine choir of beings beyond mortal understanding.
This was the Ainulindalë, and from it's harmonies and dissonances, the Music of the Ainur shaped the very fabric of existence.
A journey into the mystical and wondrous creation myth of J.R.R. Tolkien as we explore the origins of Arda and the forces that shaped it.
In the beginning, before the flow of time and the birth of the universe, in the depths of His Timeless Halls, there was Eru, The One. He possesed the Flame Imperishable in His spirit which kindled existence from nothingness.
And with that Flame, Eru, also called Ilúvatar, created the Ainur, before anything else. And they were the fairest and mightiest beings to exist at the dawning of Arda.
He presented them with thought, in the form of Music, and listened as the Ainur picked up His themes and elaborated on them, and let them interpret them as they felt.
At first, each of them sang by themselves, but as they listened to eachother, they realized that singing together made the Music more beautiful. And so they collaborated, and their Music grew in harmony until it became a majestic symphony.
Soon after, Eru Ilúvatar called all the Ainur and declared to them a Mighty theme. Unfolding to them things greater and more wonderful than He had yet revealed, and asked them to make great Music, while He sat and hearkened.
Then the voices of the Ainur rang forth, as if they were skilled in the art of harps and lutes, and the mournful melodies of pipes and trumpets, and the rich timbre of viols and organs, and like the harmonies of countless choirs singing with words.
Thus they began to weave the theme of Ilúvatar into great Music, a symphony of divine beauty and power. Through them arose a sound of endless interchanging melodies, woven in perfect harmony that transcended hearing and filled the depths and heights of all places where Ilúvatar's presence was felt. As the Music grew, it's echoes poured out into the Void where they resounded with such sublime beauty that the emptiness was no more.
The symphony of the Ainur reverberated through the Void, filling it with light and sound and setting the stage for the coming of the world that is.
But as their harmony progressed, Melkor, the most powerful among the Ainur, made a discord in the theme, for he sought to increase the power and glory of the part assigned to himself.
Because of his wanderings in the Void in a search for Imperishable Flame, his thoughts had become strange and unlike those of his brethren. The desire grew hot within him to bring into being things of his own, and it seemed to him that Ilúvatar was not thinking about the Void and he was impatient of it's emptiness. Sadly for Melkor, the fire was not in the Void, but his rebellion continued in an even stronger echo, and many Ainur fell silent before him, and their thought was disturbed. For his Music held no harmony, and with violence did he strive to overpower the other Music, seeking to drown it out and assert his dominance. And it was loud and vain and endlessly repeated. But some embraced Melkor's theme. Until above the Throne of Ilúvatar was a raging storm, as of dark waters that made war one upon the other, in endless wrath.
Chief instruments in Eru's theme were Ulmo and Manwë, powerful spirits like Melkor himself. Twice Ilúvatar raised his hand, first smiling and then stern, and weaving his beautiful melodies through the discord of Melkor, amid the confusion, whose uproar and contended with it, but there was a war of sound, more violent than before. There were two Music progressing at one time before the seat of Ilúvatar.
In the midst of this strife, whereat the halls of Ilúvatar shook and a tremor ran out into the silences yet unmoved, Eru arose a third time. And his face was terrible to behold. Then he raised up both his hands, and in one chord, deeper than the Abyss, the Music ceased.
"Mighty are the Ainur, and mightiest among them is Melkor. But that he may know, and all the Ainur, that I am Ilúvatar, those things that ye have sung, I will show them forth, that ye may see what ye have done. And thou, Melkor, shalt see that no theme may be played that hath not its uttermost source in me, nor can any alter the Music in my despite. For he that attempteth this shall prove but mine instrument in the devising of things more wonderful, which he himself hath not imagined."
And much more did Ilúvatar utter as He spoke unto the Ainur, concering the Music and the dire ramifications that would come to pass should any discord be brought forth. He led them into the Void and spoke:
    "Behold Your Music!"
And so it was, that Ilúvatar unveiled to the Ainur the vision of the world that their Music had wrought.
A globe suspended amidst the Void, distinct from it's emptiness. They gazed upon the unfolding of it's history and perceived the role that each of them had played in it's creation. They were struck with awe at the dawning awereness that their Music had the power to bring into being a tangible reality. As they watched, the world before them began to stir with life and vitality. They were amazed to see the Children of Ilúvatar appear within the vision, beings that had not been made known to the Ainur before. These were the firstborn, the Elves, and the followers, the race of Men, born of a theme that was not theirs. And they were amazed at their beauty and wonder. But as suddenly as the vision had come, it was gone from their sight. Yet Ilúvatar, in His wisdom, understood the yearning in the hearts of the Ainur for this world to be made real. And so, He spoke to them, saying:
    "EÄ! Let These Things Be!"
Then Eru sent forth the Flame Imperishable into the Universe, and far off in the Void, a great light appeard.
Many of the mighty spirits who had dwelt in the timeless halls hearkened to His summons and desceneded, eager to embody all that they had learned from Him and to prepare the world for the coming of His Children.
These great spirits who descended into Arda would later be known as the Valar, the Powers of the World. Melkor came among them and feigned, even to himself at first, that he desired to go thither and order all things for the good of the Children of Ilúvatar, controlling the turmoils of the heat and the cold that had come to pass through him.
Yet his heart's yearning was not to cherish the Elves and Men, but to bring them under his sway, envying the gifts which Ilúvatar had promised to endowed them. He coveted dominion and followers, longing to be hailed as lord and to rule over the wills of others.

It is 66 books, three languages, (greek aramaic and hebrew) and it is 3500 years old, it took 1500 years to write and 40 authors from shepherds to prophets to kings wrote it. The origin story of the scriptures is very similar to the origin story of Ainulindale.
Lucifer is the most powerful angel and rebels just like Melkor, both villains are cast to earth. Both Villains harass humanity. Manwe and Gandalf are similar to Jesus.
Tolkien was a devout christian and I think many of his themes came from the bible, as is the same with CS Lewis in the narnia chronicles and my favorite (the science fiction trilogy)
