- Lyrics:
When I was poor and lonely
they give me to her floor,
cause you're the only.
I was tired of resting,
but I'm not even afraid,
cause you're the only.
God was in me and I'm in virtual reality,
I'm tired of living.
They come anywhere here,
anywhere in my head,
cause I'm tired of thinking.
I never meant to love these machines
but they obey my commands adeptly.
I will never ever die,
In their circuits I can survive.
Can you hear me?
I'm tired of living
Ooohhhhhhh!
Electric love screens
have tempted me to jack it in,
living lightly.
They come anywhere here,
anywhere in my head,
I'm tired of thinking.
I never meant to love these machines
but they obey my commands adeptly.
I will never ever die,
in their circuits I can survive.
Can you hear me?
I'm tired of living.
Ooooooohhhhhhh!
Thanks to Jackle9 and mkliko for the lyircs :)
"I never meant to love these machines, but they obey my commands adeptly" - so badly wish that they'd include this part just once during a live show!
NorthLimitation would have fit in well during the Drones tour
Drones vibes lol
It sounds like The Strokes and Matt Bellamy xD
that is a good title for this titleless song
I was thinking the same thing
More like Matt Bellamy having a Stroke
What id give to see a Strokes and Muse concert 😂
No
Radiohead
"I never meant to love these machines"
HerraGanesha he said "I love rage against the machine"
Killed by drones
@@cleanwindow_7869 the first one
Wooow how did this song possibly change that much?
I also thought like you that how much can a song possibly change? but then my band started working with a musical producer and when I brought songs i wrote sometimes he told me that the song needs something else. We changed choruses, melodies, harmonies, etc. And songs came out totally different, but in a good way cause we added some kickass stuff that made the songs much better.
"A big part of it is growing as a writer and realizing what's more pleasing to other ears, and not just yours", I think a true artist should only try to please themselves and should - in the instance of a musician - only write songs they personally like, just for the sake of their own sanity. In the end, all you know for certain is whether or not you like what you've done, and prioritizing other people will just make you feel unfulfilled and untrue to yourself.
I'd argue a music producer's job is to produce the band's songs, not to change the fundamental songwriting. I wouldn't wanna work with a producer like that.
Have a listen to The Groove- that was an early version of supermassive black hole!!!
No one who writes music is ever content with what they write and sometimes they just change literally everything
I like how the chorus in the original song is pretty much the verses in this one. That's an interesting change
*Glorious* + *Plug In Baby* = *Plug In Baby Demo* ?
With this and Pink Ego Box {Instant Messenger} makes me think Matt was an early internet geek
+leopheard same hahaha
+leopheard The same applies to Map of Your Head: "Because the language confuses/ Like computers refuse to/ Understand how i'm feeling today"
+leopheard If u read his '99 interviews you'll find out that he actually was... A pioneer internet geek.
And these days, he talks about VR
In screenager he talks about how technology can give you a distorted body image.. Muse songs about early internet are interesting!!
I think the Origin version is better instrumentally, however these lyrics are immensely better than the record version
Cannot agree more
The lyrics are obviously influenced by drugs lol. Lots of imagery but I don't think it sort of fits altogether. Origin version is better at everything.
@@w4wumbo23 like, it is said they recorded it after some mushrooms...
@@w4wumbo23 With the Demiurge and Gnosticism I feel this all fits together just fine.
I never meant to love these machines
but they obey my commands adeptly.
I will never ever die,
In their circuits I can survive.
Can you hear me?
I'm tired of living.
Holy fuck, I love this version so much. :)
It sounds so sad to me but I love it. If they made a sad version of Hyper Music why couldn't they have made a sad Plug In Baby??
Valid point, but with lines like "I'm tired of living" it can still be suitable as a sadder song.
I have actually heard that plug in baby is a metaphore for his guitar (as an escape from everything, like he says "crucifies my enemies".) And I bet the verse in plug in baby is about a girl "I exposed your lies baby, the underneath is no big surprise.... cleansing everything, to forget your love" Do you still think that he is singing about technology ...?
I believe hypochondriac music was first and they were told it didn't fit the theme so Hyper Music was made to fit. So they made a "happier?" version of Hypochondriac instead of a sad version of Hyper Music. I could be very wrong tho
it's already in a minor key so you couldn't simply do a key change to make it sad. You could maybe transpose it to natural minor instead of harmonic minor, but other than that there's not an easy way to make it sad. Maybe slow the tempo?
ZOZO-PROductions the song is already depressing
that riff at the end is AMAZING
Muse, please replay this version...
Listening to the lyrics to this actually allow me to understand what the lyrics mean in the other version of this song..
part 2 lyrics:
Electric love screens
Have tempted me to jack it in
Living lightly
They come anywhere here Anywhere in my head
I'm tired of thinking
I never meant to love these machines
But they obey my commands adeptly
I will never ever die In their circuits
I can survive
Can you hear me
I'm tired of living
This may very well be the holy grail for Muse fans, the first demo of Plug in Baby
these lyrics are so meaningful. i actually really like this demo
listening to this just made me really sad for some reason,
like seeing your childhood again through a warped mirror knowing you cant touch it or change it
I know that feeling too well...
Im in love with this version, i love the chorus, the guitar, the voice, EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!
gotta love early Muse!!!!
i wish they recorded this version again and put it on hullabaloo soundtrack cos i really like the lyrics :(
I'm sure he didn't like this lyrics.
+Arturo Coli Valencia (Ángulo Cúbico)
Well, that would be sad :D
Imagine that some people got to see them at the very beginning of their musical careers. How lucky! If only they knew how great they would become! Phenomenal band!
It was on the plymouth soundwaves demo tape which was released in 1997.
I love this version, I wish they'd made it into a high quality b-side
I think the song is about a person who makes love to a machine. As it's a metaphor for our human relation ship with computers.
+Rotschlangengift Matt dedicated this song to his guitar, like with Plug In Baby
you cracked the code matt didn't even know it existed
i would love if they remake this song
yeah i know , but i want this original song with the original lyrics to be remake
Your wish is granted on Origin of Muse
Wow the lyrics are completely different
Matt has always implied in interviews that he his an agnostic/atheist. That is he believes that there might be a supernatural power but cannot say what form it takes.
The line "God was in me" in this demo does not refer to the Chrisitan God if that's what you're thinking.
the whole line 'god is in me, and I'm in virtual reality, I'm tired of living' keeps me coming back to this 😅 sad they'll probably never play tis version again though😞
Muse... Please make another song with this one, it would be great :D
no matter what they do, they always do it the right way
I wish they kept the ending
I wish they'd remaster this and include it on Origin of Muse!
They have done on the Newton Abbots Demos disk part of Origins of Muse
Funny how well these lyrics apply today.
Woah... this sounds more like Sober than Plug In Baby XD
I think this is the greatest early song they ever recorded, I kinda prefer this version, but i'm glad they didn't go with this musical style, as it just seems to similar to almost any rock song, and i love muse for there diversity in there songs and uniqueness. Plug in baby, all versions will always be one of my favorite song by muse.
"I will never ever die, in their circuits I can survive"
I love that line xD
This version seems to have more emotion in it than the studio version
It sounds so sincerly... so truly and heartly... I like this lyrics much better than album version.
The product of shrooms😂
Pretty sure this is the version before the shrewmz. Lyrically this actually makes sense, unlike the studio version
I love how this has very little thats part of the current recording but it's still clearly the song.
Tag everyone @muse so they can remember this old masterpiece and create a small EP with this version (remastered) and the "plug in baby" that we all know
I love this song especially this version of the song
Woooow.. amazing.. Muse is simply the best
I wonder if the boys have got a proper recording of this lying around somewhere on a hard drive, imagine hearing a restored version of it
love it maybe even more than the original, appart from the riff i love
Merkz but... This is the original
thinking of reworking this, would anyone be interested in listening? I'll credit Muse of course😜
Rose Grant plz
Please do.
Starspiker pUN-INTENDED
You never remade it
i´m . Please dude just do it !
i like the chorus so much..
where did you get this from
Lol sounds like a showbiz version of the song, which is actually pretty cool
I was addicted heavily to the original, but I love this way way bette r
This is the original.
Should probably change the description since the actual lyrics are "but they obey my commands and they're clean"
I really like the outro :D maybe this could have been a b-side?
estoy obsesionada con esta version :D
creo que la escucho todos los dias
They come anywhere, anywhere in my head cose im tired of thinking ♥
if this version were the only song on the 2nd law I would be more tempted to buy it than i am now. sincere and lyrically rich as should be the case with muse.
Did he say virtual reality? Matt knew about simulation theory back then!
i will never ever die
Holy shit that ending is so good they need to make this it’s own song
HOW DID I ONLY SEE THIS VIDEO TODAY, THE FIRST OF MARCH 2018????????
I did on march 2020 :/
The only biggest thing missing is the crazy guitar line. Otherwise, I like this version better; especially the chorus!
Así se empieza a perfeccionar una composición musical.
Glad, Matthew's voice is all grown up and evolved now :D Love Muse!!!
I just wanna say... Fuck up with this song!!! I've never heard it, and now I love it!!!! 🤘🏼😎
una nostalgia sana** purita, siempre que vuelvo acá
I love the part about machines and never dying, it's awesome!
@chebaka4 the guitar tab seems to be just the chourus chords from the released version all the way through. for the epic intro its the same thing except for the string bend which follows the bass of the chorus from the original :P
why are the lyrics the plot of the ME!ME!ME! music video
God was in me? I thought matt was an atheist.
He’s a deist basically, based on what he said

most beautiful demo ive ever heard till now
Just gunna throw it out there, I like this version
the outro is just...new. love this one too
best version
after listening to the album version loads this song sounds pretty good :) and the early plug in bay lyrics after this are cool to :)
Outro is epicness xD
Con la sociedad actual esto calza muy bien
Wow never heard that version !! Thumb up if we should do a cover guys !!
DO IT PLEASE
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATT!!!
Can actually someone write lyrics to it? I'm not a native speaker and have a hard time understanding it
This version >>>>
This is beautiful
As start as Matt sang it sounded like grunge
omg i love this version!
Real Muse as it should be!
i love the outro
Dans la légende 😎
this has so much soul
Glad they didn't put it on Showbiz and changed it for Origin Of Symmetry, their real home 🤷🏾
Don't get me wrong, I ADORE the PIB riff, but this is just...
I dunno. I feel something with this.
wow.... that are history!!!
I want the "outro" tabs now ):
Never heard this before, pretty weird how the song progressed.
Anyone know of where the sheet music of this version of this song can be found at all?
This is beautifullll omagah
Ahh, cool, sounds different, but loverrrly :) x
The best Muse song
think second line is: "they pinned me to the floor"
"they give me to her floor" doesn't really make sense
@PowerRedBull Grunt music? It was called grunge.
This is great
wow
brilliant lyrics
So they transposed it 2 and half step high
dude sick lyrics
It sounds heavier and I like it!
They should’ve dropped way more music than they did during this stretch.
