Have you ever stopped drawing for a while? Like, it's not for a lack of imagination, you just don't really feel like drawing? I've been going through this since 2019 started, and I think it might be because of stress from school, but I really want to regain my motivation so I can start my comic.

Same, since school started I've just felt too tired and... just felt like not writing or drawing. Work probably adds to that, but I just generally feel... like just watching a bunch of vids on UA-cam, anime, and sleeping.

Try scribbles. Just draw some scribbles. Maybe draw a person. Don’t try. Just scribble. I do that when I draw, because I always get frustrated with how my art is looking. But when I scribble I know that it is ok if it’s very bad and that I didn’t spend too much time on it.

Before-hand I had a problem with both quality and speed.
Now I have a problem with speed....but I kinda just procrastinate, not sure why though. I am having fun and things are turning out good but...something is keeping me from getting to work immediately.

Yeah I do the procrastinating too XD
not so much with my attempts at comics but it was really bad back when I was trying to do 3d animation.

I feel you, like, my stuff looks okay but I take so long to get to it! Then I beat myself up about not getting to it quick enough. Maybe I secretly hate myself!

You're doing great! Fast and good. But yeah, it's a compromise, I tend to prefer quality a bit more, just because I learn more this way. So if it's clearly awful and I think I can fix it I'll take the time. If it's just beyond my current level of ability, I'll move on.

Quality is my priority when it comes to my drawings although I always over correct my self and as a traditional artist though over correcting can ruin a piece there's a reason I don't really use ink on my drawings and stick with graphite.

Recently I learned a lot about myself while starting to draw frequently again. I realized that I cant finish a picture if I put it off even for a while. I need to finish everything in one go. Or it will stay a wip for ever. So I actually prefere quantity. As it puts me into the tight spot to be faster and still enjoy what I did.
My priority is to overcome my insecurities. As I was always scared to put out my art as it sucks. But doing this felt freeing. Posting bad art to the open eye ...to the public. Its bad. I know that. But at the same time I get rid of this bagage that keeps me from putting out pages or illustrations. There will maybe one or two pictures that will get traction, but thats not what matters. What matters is to be able to express yourself. ... thats my analizis of myself while drawing more and more frequently. It makes me happy to know that my art doesnt need to be perfect. I can enjoy unperfected art.

Don't feel too bad about mistakes tho, DICE (the Webcomic on webtoons) had a panel where they accidentally had the character standing on the door....
