I didn't realize the white background yet, but when I saw you put the pink paper, I give you a big thumbs up right away for being so thoughtful. Thank you for sharing. I will be making one of these for my grandbaby.
Hi Lisa! Thank you so much for commenting. I try to make sure the tutorials are clear. Glad the background helped. Enjoy making this for your grandbaby:)
Thanks so much for doing this tutorial. I had been looking for an easy to make 0-3 month bonnet, and came across this tutorial. It's perfect for what I was looking for. I've subscribed to your channel.
Hi Judy! How wonderful! Glad you found it fun and easy. That was the goal. Thanks for subscribing:) Hope you'll continue to enjoy what I've got on the go.😀
I just now accidentally found your channel and I'm so glad I diid. This little bonnet is perfect! I love it and will be making some for my new grandaughter schedule to arrive in two weeks. Thank you And I love that you have a blog also and will go there for the hat size chart. I really want to find out what the measurement is for under one ear over the top front of the head to under the other ear. I can't seem to find that anywhere else so will go now and look at your chart
Hi Ruth! Glad you found my channel and find it helpful. Yes, check out the hat sizing chart and look for a hat depth measurement for newborn (0-3 months). Let me know how you make out:)👍
Such a cute bonnet, especially for a boy. Daisy Farm Craft has a cute one too, but it's geared more for a girl. My question is, if I wanted to cinch up the back neckline a bit can I skip a stitch on the way back around with the slip stitches? Thank you for sharing ❤❤❤
Thank you so much! Yes you absolutely can cinch it up a little in that back that way. Glad you enjoyed this project. And I love the Daisy Farm Craft channel too:) They create beautiful designs.👍
Ok so I’m missing something…after the first round of the floret stitch I have 24 bobbles and 25 slip stitches…that’s only 49 stitches…where did I go wrong?
Hi Sandy! You are on the right track. We don't work the last stitch of this round so you'll have 49 sts. You are correct. In the next round (7) we will go down to 48 sts. This will leave a little gap where the bonnet rests against the neck. Hope that makes sense. Let me know how you make out!
To make the same bonnet for a 1 year old, should we do increase stitches after round 5 rather than what is actually shown here and then start round6 once we reach the desired crown diameter ?
Yes, if you keep increasing until you get the right diameter then you would follow the method as indicated. Here's a sizing chart you might find handy: www.crochetcrafty.com/pdf/Crochet-Hat-Sizing-Chart.pdf Good luck!
Thank you for the lovely pattern and easy to follow instructions. Want to make bonnets for 4 and 8 year girls. Any suggestions how big of a circle I should make? Also I want to attach scarf to it, is it doable? Free written pattern is cherry on the top.
Hi! Glad you found this enjoyable. If you are following the free written pattern, there should be a link to the hat sizing chart for children. You would just make your circle as large as the diameter indicated for your particular age on that chart. Hope that makes sense. And yes, you can absolutely attach a scarf to it. It would look lovely.🤩
Aha! That will look pretty! Just follow the sizing chart for an adult hat diameter. So keep making th circle until you get the size you need. Then begin the floret stitch part the same way. Hope that makes sense! And you never know. You just might see a video tutorial on that;) Good luck and have fun. Keep me posted ! K
I am new to crochet so found this quite difficult. I had to undo and start again 3 times 😬 nothing to do with you by the way. Eventually I got to grips with it but somehow ended with 38 st around the neck part. It still looks good though. I will try this again soon as my granddaughter is due beginning of February 2024. It's now January 2024.
Hi Ruth, I believe the depth was taken from the crown of the head. You might check out this sizing chart as well which is ALL Baby related: www.crochetcrafty.com/pdf/Baby-Crochet-Garment-Sizing-Chart.pdf
What is the diameter of the circle after round 5 with a #4 yarn? I'd like to make this bonnet in a size 0-3 months but will be using a #3 yarn. Thank you.
Hi Kathy, my diameter was about 5 - 5.5 inches or 13 - 14 cm as I made mine for a sizing of 3 - 6 months. I would recommend you refer to my hat sizing chart which you can find here: www.crochetcrafty.com/pdf/Crochet-Hat-Sizing-Chart.pdf Just crochet according to the hat sizing measurements. So if you are using #3 yarn and making it for a 0 -3 months baby, just follow the crown measurements on the chart for that size. Hope that helps. Let me know how you make out! 👍
Hi there! You can definitely size this up for an adult. Just follow the sizing chart for an adult hat diameter. So keep increasing the circle until you get the size you need. Then begin the floret stitch part the same way. Hope that makes sense! Good luck and let me know if you have any other questions!👍
