I don't understand why you wouldn't think people would sit through an hour episode. Honey, we love you! We love watching you. Dont hesitate ever to put an hour long video on. We'll watch it!!!❤
Oh Lordy, thank you!
@@SouthernFrugalMomma, I would too!
I have a short attention span. I prefer two videos. But I would still watch if you did a long one. I would just part of it the first day and finish it the second day.
I'd watch it for longer!!❤️
Amen to that, hands down would rather watch you Brooke than anyone else! You make us feel like we’re just hanging out with you, our bestie 😅💖
I would sit through hours and hours of your videos I love your videos so much when I'm having a bad day I'll watch you and I'm all better LOL so many good ideas and you're just such a kind soul in a world full of yuck we need people like you! Thank you for this being you and God bless your family and you and please don't go nowhere LOL 😊
You don't have to apologize for an extra video. Yay!
AMEN DOUBLE BROOKE YAY LUCKY US .WE LOVE YOU.❤
Exactly!! ❤
We like your longer videos. Or at least i do.
DITTO FOR ME!!!!!! 😁👏
Me too 😇
He is going to be a good shopper when he gets older,This is going to stick with him all his life.
My mom would always lay out the weekly ads of the three closest stores and plan like a general where she would get what! She fed a family of ten children as efficiently as she could and saved!
My mom too.she would cook what was on sale.organized, and watched her money.things were cheaper in those days, 70's.thank goodness.home made everything. 😊.she would like your ideas.did not have alot when she grew up,make do.😊
actually our meal was from the dollartree..we unfortunately don't have a dollartree +...
we had cowboy beans..1 pack of the beef patties (ground and cooked) with some if the peppers and onions, and canned baked beans..and butter bread(wheat) the bread is soft 😋 👌
total cost was 5 items for 6.50 +taxes.
An hour long video? Yes pleeeeeeeeeeease!!
I LOVE chicken and turkey gizzards! Lol!! My sis and I always tried to see who could get the gizzard, heart and liver first. 😂
Okay, so on the chicken gizzards, we rinse them, put them in the crockpot with cream of whatever soup and salt/pepper and cook for 6-8 hours. Serve over rice with a bread of some sort. I also add in chopped onion sometimes. It makes a decent meal and my husband loves it. We don't usually cook this way anymore due to diet changes, but thought you might like to know.🌼
We put our gizzards in Shake n Bake and bake them. They're delicious 😋🤤
@@ericastout4552never had them baked are they tender ❤
@@marywalker1394 yes ma'am 😇 The flavor is so delicious from the Shake n Bake and a little of my own seasoning.
♥️♥️♥️ Gizzards, usually fried & 🔥sauce..but will try the above way too...♥️🥀
I’m Team Dusty for chicken gizzards. I also fry chicken livers for my sisters. Great pan drippings for gravy over mashed potatoes and heat up a can of green beans. Debi in Vicksburg, MS. 🥰🥰
Thank you for a nice & helpful video. Such a sweet helpful son.
I'm not "Poor" nor "Rich" (not a fan of labels) but now am "Comfortable".
This way of budgeting is why I'm comfortable now and continue to shop this way for all of my items: (clothing, food, household etc etc). Stretch that Dollar! It's fun sometimes, almost a game. Thank you again for your sweetness and sincerity. 😊
We are right there with you. Tonight’s dinner was a box of Aldi red beans and rice. I think I paid a dollar for it it made four servings. Salad finished out the meal. Eating cheap is smart! As my hubby said, we don’t HAVE to do it but we do it because we want to.
Next time, I will see how much it costs to make from scratch!
It IS fun. I sometimes feel like a hunter.
I love how you give us great ideas for meals. I got a weeks food for $51 and that is in Canada, our prices are usually higher than the US.
You go!
@@joycef8443 Thanks
Well done, you! 🇨🇦
@@tenthousanddaysofgratitude Thank you, I am quite happy about it.
I miss having a discount bread store in our area 😢
Same. We had Hostess and Entemanns stores nearby until about 15 years ago. Now, nothing.
My mom saved A LOT of money at the Hostess/Wonder/Weber discount stores.
OMG, I'm cracking up, Brooke! I had my CC on and while you were in Aldi, the closed captioned said "serps". It took me a minute to "get" that they don't understand our appalachian accent, LOL! I'm a Kentucky gal, and I say "serp" for syrup, too!! LOL!!
Oh yay! I love these videos and can't wait to see tomorrow's delicious creations! I'm so excited you are trying the white chicken chili dump and go! Yay! Hope y'all like it!
I'm with Dusty! Get the chicken gizzards.. Boil them till soft. They make good broth. Remove from broth. Cool. Then bread them and fry. Fantastic!!
I agree with Dusty , chicken gizzards are the bomb!!!!!!!!!!!!❤
Yes ma'am I agree to 😮
I call Albertsons the rich person store in my area.❤
Yes please 😋
I’m gonna be honest, I’ve never tried them. The thought keeps from trying lol
I love your videos , an hour video is not too long. I always say your videos are full of useful and thoughtful realistic info and hands down one of my favs. I actually cook just like you. LOL
We have multiple stores that are very close together when we go to town. Even a discount bread store for bread and honey buns. It's easier to store hop and discount shop doing it that way once a week. Plus you can score some preps cheaper this way.
I'm with Dusty. Pressure cook 1.5 lb gizzards in 1 cup chicken broth or bullion, 1 tsp each salt, pepper, onion & garlic powder, and poultry seasoning. Thicken with milk mixed with some corn starch when it's done. Serve over rice. YUM! Try it, Brooke! I bet you'll LIKE it!
Why do you not have more subscribers!? Seriously..I love your channel, u r funny, ur dinner ideas r awesome …come on ppl! You know why I enjoy ur channel the most?..cause u r real..no pretence ..look forward to videos. Love you too!!!
I loved your little deal finder Kyle, but I missed the grocery aisle dance.
FYI
Dollar General has the Hungry Jack potatoes for $1.00 a carton! I know it's convenient to buy because you are already at Dollar Tree. And if you wait till Saturday to get a few groceries if you spend $25.00 you get $5.00 off coupon if you clip coupon in APP!
I love your channel
Keep doing what you do ❤
I don't drive so I take the bus to all the stores in my area. I buy everything on sale so I stock up on items on sale so i don't pay full prices for anything.
You will like that soup. I make basically the same thing "Chicken White Chili". Canned chicken, white beans, salsa verde, chicken broth, poblano pepper.
I'm a single teacher...so no kids, but a very tight budget. Your videos help me so much! ❤ With my ADHD I watch all youtube videos on at least 1.75 speed, so I would love an hour long video!
Shout out. To dusty about the chicken gizzards Amen to that.
So sorry that rude and unhappy people feel that is appropriate to share their thoughts. Your children are very respectful and loving. I love your videos, thank you for sharing your life with us. God Bless!
Nope. No chicken gizzard. I could watch you guys all day. So jealous I live in the desert where it NEVER rains. See you tomorrow❤
Now, you are allowed to go over because Tennessee charges taxes on food.
I live rural so it is a road trip to go grocery shopping. I shop with a group and we take road trips to different stores.. We visit just 2 to 3 of them each week. We have 15 stores in our rotation depending on which direction that we want to travel.
Love you Brooke and your videos. Can not wait to see you tomorrow. Last week I had my husband take me to the discount grocery outlet in my town. I did not like the pet food selection but I was able to get some good deals on meat, bread and cereal. My husband loved having extra cereal this week. See you soon.
I want to say I just found your videos and I am loving them I have always cooked on a budget and I am getting so many new things to make from your videos. Also i watched the thanksgiving one where you were making biscuits. Try this 2 cup self riseing flour, 1 stick of real butter, 1 cup of cold water, chop the butter into cubes add to flour and pinch flour and butter until its like crumbles then slowly mix in water. I call them drop biscuits i just use a spoon and drop them on a baking sheet 400 for 20 mins cheep and easy should make 10 to 12 depending on size. cant wait to see the other part of this video thanks again from this Kentucky woman
Your a good man Dusty
Oh Brooke this rain we are getting here in Tennessee has been rediculous and we are getting more but your right the gardens are happy mine is growing like crazy but too much rain will make the tomatoes split. Good job Kylan for telling mom about all the good deals and thank you Dusty for being going shopping with your wonderful wife and not complaining you are such a sweet family. Great haul Brooke yay for tomorrow.
My little town has Walmart,Ingles and Dollar Tree
If I want Aldi- or Food City- Kroger- have to drive south 15 - 30 min or north 30 min
I miss our discount bread store
I love your shopping trips Brooke we get to go along and see where your going with your meal plans , not the full plan of coarse but some idea anyway !! When I was a child many years ago momma would buy 4 loaves of bread for a dollar , she would freeze 3 and keep one out! The bread store also sold little miniature loaves of bread for 10€ and sometimes as a great momma would buy each of us 4 kids a tiny loaf of bread and let us make up our own tiny sandwiches as snacks, I loved to make cucumber snd peanut butter and mayo and peanut butter or butter and jelly sandwiches with mine!! Brooke I love your hair cut I forgot to mention it in your last video , the cut looks good on you and it’s still long enough to put up in a ponytail or with a clip!! God bless and I can’t wait for tomorrows video on your meals, and we don’t mind long videos when they are interesting like yours are!! ❤️🙏🙋🏻🌈🌈
I love gizzards too, can't wait for tomorrow video
One of the problems with needing to stay on a strict budget is having to buy only what you can/will use. IF you can manage to make it happen one week of the month, the big cans of WM chicken is always $9.98. When every penny counts, only paying $2.50 in the long run would pay off in the end. Thanks for taking us shopping~
Personally not fond of gizzards, but I'd eat fried chicken livers any day.
You get much more chicken if you buy the 10# chicken leg quarters.
I've ended up with 6# usable meat, baked chicken skins for snacking or as a crumbled topping, bones for broth.
I've deboned a package and ground it up in the food processor for both ground meat and sausage. Yummy & cheap.
I looked for that bag. I love getting them, but I didn’t see them at Aldi. Food City’s was soooo expensive. I was like 🥴
Great job
I love those English cucumbers! I peel and slice, and dip in ranch dressing. I love fried chicken gizzards and livers, too.😋 You did real good at Aldis! You got a lot for your $60.👍 You are so awesome!!💖
I love your grocery videos. Can u do one sometimes where you include non food items like toilet paper, laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid, etc. How to get good deals on that stuff and maybe a 80 budget?
I would love to watch this video even if it's an hour!!!🎉🎉
Walmart Southaven Mississippi. Their coolers went out during the night. All the meat was still really cold. even the vacuumed sealed meats. The law made them dump it. I cried. IN the store. People are starving. Even the yogurt and biscuits. I went straight to check out and left. Cried all the way home at the number of dump trucks pulled up out front to haul off the stuff. There were officials monitoring to make sure no one purchased any of the items. Tell Dusty chicken gizzards and livers are amazing.
Oh no! That is so so so sad!
I guess they figured folks would dumpster dive ! Lots would have! Heart breaking!
I’m happy to have 2 videos!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Just a tip: you can make your own salsa verde with green tomatoes if you don’t grow tomatillos. I’m not a fan of salsa verde but I made some one year when I had tons of green tomatoes.
A “green sauce” could also be pesto. Have you made pesto before? I grow a lot of basil with my tomato’s. I don’t like pine nuts so I use sunflower seeds. Garlic scapes (if you grow garlic) makes nice pesto, with the basil.
I hear you about food city, which surprised us when we moved to Knoxville because when I lived in AZ Food City was cheap and had a lot of good Mexican ingredients and some stores even had a counter where you could get some delicious cheap tacos made fresh in store .
I love the new Bit O Honey 🍯 packaging, too!
I absolutely get very happy when I see you have a video out 😂😂😂😂 it makes my day ❤❤❤❤❤
I love the extra video! Just love coming along with you and your family. ❤
My husband loved chicken gizzards. I learned to cook them in my pressure cooker.
Our closest discount bread store is 20 minutes away. It is not in a good part of town. So we don’t patronize it. The next town over (35-45 minutes depending on traffic) has one. When we are in the vicinity, I love to go there.
Love all of your videos!! The longer the better!
Can you also do some garden videos?!?! I love those too!! I just planted okra and green beans at my dads this past weekend. Can’t wait to see how they do. He won’t get chickens though, and he has the space for it!! Lol
I enjoy watching your videos. Keep doing what you’re doing. God bless you.
I love your personality and everything that you share so much! This video just flew by! Looking forward to tomorrow's video. 💖💕
Bonus week!!! 🎉
I am a hispanic mom. We get the tortillas put cream cheese in it fry then roll them in sugar and cinnamon
Love the extra video anytime like your new hair cut I hope and your family have a safe day in this rain
We used to have bread stores here in Ohio but, they closed them down. I miss them. You can really save money there.
Now I know why I can't find the Hungry Jack hash browns at my Dollar Tree. They sent them all to your store! LOL
I used to love our local used bread store, but it closed. My sister would bust out laughing every time I called it that.
I still make chicken livers with onions n butter. Also add them to chicken soup. Gizzards not so much because they are tough n chewy. I make 2 cans of white beans (one pureed, one drained) with frozen spinach, oil n garlic, bouillion powder to taste. Cheap meal full of protein n vitamins. Also make broccoli with oil, garlic n any kid of pasta. Cheap n filling.
Bring on ALL the videos no matter what day it is!!!❤
Hi Brooke , Dusty and boys
Thank you for sharing your shopping list and trip with us . Looking forward to tomorrow's recipes and meal plans. Sending lots and lots of hugs , love and blessings and countless prayers 🙏❤️
New here coming from Just Living ! Thanks for sharing friend 👋🏼👋🏼😄!
Fried chicken gizzards are amazing!!!! If you haven’t had them you definitely should!! Lol
My local dollar trees don't seem to have as many good deals as they did before they put in the items that can cost up to $5.00. Almost a fourth of the freezer section is also full of those and most of those items can be found a lot cheaper at multiple nearby stores. Understand why they had to raise prices to $1.25 but making tiered prices make them like the .99 cent stores in the area which START at .99. I think their marketing strategy will cost them more than they will make. I used to love the simplicity of walking in, filling my basket and only having to count the number of items to know what I would be paying.
Thanks for the video. I agree with Dusty chicken gizzards are the best. When I was a teenager my mom would make me chicken gizzards and egg noodles. This was my comfort food. My husband and children do not care for chicken gizzards but I still make me gizzards and noodles. I also like gizzards fried like you do chicken livers.
Also bit of honey remains me of when I was a kid and would go with my dad to the gas station. He would let me pick out candy and I would get Bit o Honey. Loved that long package. Bit o Honey is one of my favorite candy. Zero candy bars and plain M&M’s is my other favorites.
I always look forward to your videos.
God bless
We do grocery delivery. Gas is almost $4 a gallon😢 I miss stores😢
I'm excited to see what you come up with tomorrow ❤
Extra videos mean extra time with my favorite Eastern Tennessee family!! Btw Dusty is right, chicken gizzards are delicious! Especially fried and tossed in Buffalo sauce and dipped in country gravy with rolls and mashed taters on the side!
Yay for the chicken gizzards 😊
Can't wait to see what you do with your haul!
You're hubby is so easy going & just goes with the flow!
Yayyyyyy!!! Another video!!!!
I would like to see how your garden doing.
Love your videos, check for them every day. Love you guys. From Pennsylvania
My daddy and I love us some chicken gizzards too!!!😂
You are such a good momma ❤❤❤
You go girl, it’s like watching the best of supermarket sweep!😂😂😂. I have to thank you hunnybunny, 90% of the things you make I can feed to my daughter, (who is on dialysis), with little or no modifying…do you know what this means to me? It means I have a broader menu to serve to her, and more things to tempt her appetite, and less brain burden for me. Eating is part of her “must do” she can’t skip meals…it’s hard on her organs, and the better and more she eats ultimately means less stress on her little body and kidneys..and a longer stay on this little blue marble with me. For us, I want quality AND quantity…not asking much, right? Bless your sweet heart and your lovely family for your dedication in doing this for yourselves and all of us. Your new best friend, Joy😂😂😂
no need to apologize this wasntlong atALL ive seen longer and i love watching your videos!
I'm down for long videos!😂❤
I LOVE chicken gizzards!!! There is a gas station near me that has the BEST!
Kylen! So awesome! You're learning an important skill alot of adults don't even possess. And you're also helping out your family so much. Great job, young man! 👍
I so look forward to your videos! 🎉
White chicken chilli is good with the white cantennle beans aka white kidney beans dusty is right gizzards are awesome
Jalapeño salsa is more jalapeño based where as the salsa verde is tomatillo ( a Mexican green tomato) based.
Do y’all have Chicken Express in Tennessee? Here in Tx we call it Chicken E, but they have the best fried chicken gizzards & livers with yummy peppered white gravy, parkerhouse rolls, fries & sweet tea. The best! If you’ve never tried dipping a fried chkn liver in hot honey mustard dipping sauce…ya gotta try it at least once. 😋
I’m with Dusty. Chicken gizzards are awesome if you know how to cook them.
you should try banza pasta , it’s more filling and healthy because it’s chickpeas , i can’t even eat a full bowl it makes me so full🖤
I love your videos. I would love to see you do a week of vegetarian meals!!
I may try this! We can live without meat easily.
I quit eating meat 2 years ago. My hubby eats it on occasion.
@@joycef8443I’m like 98% vegetarian I don’t purchase meat for my home or when out to eat but if my friend invites me over for dinner or gets a pizza with meat I’ll eat some.
So miss Ma'am the answer to the salsa verde question is no they are not the same the Pato sauce the green can is a tomato sauce but spicy its really good you can use it in so much..eggs... meat...potatoes..rice..just buy one can and try it..
Love the ideas tips and fun your videos provide. Kylen is going to do well as an adult in fact they all will. You have taught them great life skills
Dusty's right chicken gizzard are good!
Awsome sales as always😊
I love your teaching the boys to look for sale’s awesome one of things they will need to use when they are grown ❤️
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
My girls and I always look forward to your videos. We would totally be excited for a whole hour long video of Brooke! Side note: they used to refer to you as “that UA-cam lady you watch”, but now they call you “Mrs Brooke”. We enjoy watching you after our school lessons are done for the day. My oldest has even done her version of the kids planning the meal on a budget.
They really think it’s neat that y’all are from Tennessee, too.
