Okay, so on the chicken gizzards, we rinse them, put them in the crockpot with cream of whatever soup and salt/pepper and cook for 6-8 hours. Serve over rice with a bread of some sort. I also add in chopped onion sometimes. It makes a decent meal and my husband loves it. We don't usually cook this way anymore due to diet changes, but thought you might like to know.🌼

Also i watched the thanksgiving one where you were making biscuits. Try this 2 cup self riseing flour, 1 stick of real butter, 1 cup of cold water, chop the butter into cubes add to flour and pinch flour and butter until its like crumbles then slowly mix in water. I call them drop biscuits i just use a spoon and drop them on a baking sheet 400 for 20 mins cheep and easy should make 10 to 12 depending on size. cant wait to see the other part of this video thanks again from this Kentucky woman

I love your shopping trips Brooke we get to go along and see where your going with your meal plans , not the full plan of coarse but some idea anyway !! When I was a child many years ago momma would buy 4 loaves of bread for a dollar , she would freeze 3 and keep one out! The bread store also sold little miniature loaves of bread for 10€ and sometimes as a great momma would buy each of us 4 kids a tiny loaf of bread and let us make up our own tiny sandwiches as snacks, I loved to make cucumber snd peanut butter and mayo and peanut butter or butter and jelly sandwiches with mine!! Brooke I love your hair cut I forgot to mention it in your last video , the cut looks good on you and it’s still long enough to put up in a ponytail or with a clip!! God bless and I can’t wait for tomorrows video on your meals, and we don’t mind long videos when they are interesting like yours are!! ❤️🙏🙋🏻🌈🌈

One of the problems with needing to stay on a strict budget is having to buy only what you can/will use. IF you can manage to make it happen one week of the month, the big cans of WM chicken is always $9.98. When every penny counts, only paying $2.50 in the long run would pay off in the end. Thanks for taking us shopping~

Personally not fond of gizzards, but I'd eat fried chicken livers any day.
You get much more chicken if you buy the 10# chicken leg quarters.
I've ended up with 6# usable meat, baked chicken skins for snacking or as a crumbled topping, bones for broth.
I've deboned a package and ground it up in the food processor for both ground meat and sausage. Yummy & cheap.

Walmart Southaven Mississippi. Their coolers went out during the night. All the meat was still really cold. even the vacuumed sealed meats. The law made them dump it. I cried. IN the store. People are starving. Even the yogurt and biscuits. I went straight to check out and left. Cried all the way home at the number of dump trucks pulled up out front to haul off the stuff. There were officials monitoring to make sure no one purchased any of the items. Tell Dusty chicken gizzards and livers are amazing.

Just a tip: you can make your own salsa verde with green tomatoes if you don’t grow tomatillos. I’m not a fan of salsa verde but I made some one year when I had tons of green tomatoes.
A “green sauce” could also be pesto. Have you made pesto before? I grow a lot of basil with my tomato’s. I don’t like pine nuts so I use sunflower seeds. Garlic scapes (if you grow garlic) makes nice pesto, with the basil.

My local dollar trees don't seem to have as many good deals as they did before they put in the items that can cost up to $5.00. Almost a fourth of the freezer section is also full of those and most of those items can be found a lot cheaper at multiple nearby stores. Understand why they had to raise prices to $1.25 but making tiered prices make them like the .99 cent stores in the area which START at .99. I think their marketing strategy will cost them more than they will make. I used to love the simplicity of walking in, filling my basket and only having to count the number of items to know what I would be paying.

Also bit of honey remains me of when I was a kid and would go with my dad to the gas station. He would let me pick out candy and I would get Bit o Honey. Loved that long package. Bit o Honey is one of my favorite candy. Zero candy bars and plain M&M’s is my other favorites.

I have to thank you hunnybunny, 90% of the things you make I can feed to my daughter, (who is on dialysis), with little or no modifying…do you know what this means to me? It means I have a broader menu to serve to her, and more things to tempt her appetite, and less brain burden for me. Eating is part of her “must do” she can’t skip meals…it’s hard on her organs, and the better and more she eats ultimately means less stress on her little body and kidneys..and a longer stay on this little blue marble with me. For us, I want quality AND quantity…not asking much, right? Bless your sweet heart and your lovely family for your dedication in doing this for yourselves and all of us. Your new best friend, Joy😂😂😂

Jalapeño salsa is more jalapeño based where as the salsa verde is tomatillo ( a Mexican green tomato) based.

Do y’all have Chicken Express in Tennessee? Here in Tx we call it Chicken E, but they have the best fried chicken gizzards & livers with yummy peppered white gravy, parkerhouse rolls, fries & sweet tea. The best! If you’ve never tried dipping a fried chkn liver in hot honey mustard dipping sauce…ya gotta try it at least once. 😋

My girls and I always look forward to your videos. We would totally be excited for a whole hour long video of Brooke! Side note: they used to refer to you as “that UA-cam lady you watch”, but now they call you “Mrs Brooke”. We enjoy watching you after our school lessons are done for the day. My oldest has even done her version of the kids planning the meal on a budget.
