  • My DIY CNC machine in action. Creating a guitar neck, drawn in AutoDesk Fusion 360 on a piece of multiplex 36mm. This is not the final result, I will be using a different type of wood, this wood chips more easily.
    Full story here: www.audiohotsh...
The CNC is controlled by a Raspberry Pi running bCNC
More on the box here: www.audiohotsh...
    Router is a Kress 1050fme
All jobs are using a flat bit 6mm, 2 flute, 42mm long.
    The process has 3 jobs:
1- creating dowelholes in the scrapboard for flipping the stock
    2- topside job
    3- backside job.
Total runtime of jobs approx. 80 minutes
Video was shot with a GOPRO Hero 5.

The costs are around 1600 euros; 1100 for the CNC machine incl Kress FME and steppers, 400 for the controller incl RPi and stepper controllers and 200 for the dustcollector and encasing. The working area is around 900mm x 400mm. In the mean time I've upgraded the MDF holder for the Kress motor; it's now aluminium, it's much more stable and more precise! (I've written a whole document about my machine, I will publish it shortly..)
