Just heard of him while watching something on gravity waves.
Very intriguing guy, very happy to find out he grew up near where I did.
Guys like him deserve more recognition, it is a shame when in our society when someone can make a fortune, become a celebrity and be idolized for a variety of stupid human tricks....true geniuses go unnoticed and unrewarded.

I'm soaking as many of these presentations up as I can. #4 and counting. And this one was from before the neutron star collision detection. Pure awesomeness.

I love the feedback from Dr. Adhikari's microphone through the PA. It got me thinking a black hole to white hole might do the same, maybe even wormholes.

37:52 Why does the gravity well reverse right at merger? Almost as if the black hole is spitting its contents out...

I may have missed something, but how can it be that two super large things merge with such a small result?

So, would this be considered the most sensitive instrument ever made?

Because its measuring at the width of a single proton.

Question: What if the black hole gravity waves hit the earth’s other side .. not on the LIGO.. still is it possible LIGO can record or observe gravity waves.. ? Or it miss them?
So should we need more LIGO on earth? Or should we need to send the LIGO in space and record these waves??

It will still detect, earth doesn't stops gravitational waves, no matter does.

I have a possibly very stupid and extremely off topic question - why we in Europe do l/100km and not mpg? I think that's a better information to have when you are at a gas station (I mean km per liter). Especially if you are someone who, for example, weighs fuel vs other expenses this month.

Because Europe and the rest of the entire planet is metric with a few exceptions which uses imperial (3 countries) or the silly mix of metric and imperial like Canada and Britain does.

This is a fascinating video for you to ask that. This is a good topic for you to pay attention to. Keep up the good work.
