Lego Batman 2 has just been re-released on the Wii U. Despite being a year old by now and from what I can tell, not a lot of new exclusive features either. There's also a prequel to Lego City Undercover on 3DS, as well as a Lego Legends Of Chima video game coming this month on handheld devices. And that's not covering the upcoming MMO based on the same Lego theme, or the fact that Lego Marvel Super Heroes is coming later this same year!
Although computing processes are extremely fast, there's a bigger delay in having a laser read info off a disc and then load it into the system's processors than there is for the system to load the information from its storage. It basically cuts out the middle-man, which is why bigger PS3 games have a (sometimes mandatory) option to install some of the game's data on your HDD to cut down load times and speed up the game.
I just bought the Switch version. I havent played the Wii U version but I suspect the resolution is a lot sharper on the Switch version. The gamepad of the Wii U version is not needed but for me I think it would add something as Im often trying to remember what button to press on the controller.
He is a video game reviewer, he has to point out the negatives of a game. If he didnt, he would be a bad reviewer. But since he points out both the positives and negatives of a game, he is a great reviewer.
I think this is the best exclusive title on the wii u so far! iv'e used 16 hours on it so far and only unlocked 25.1% of it. Many hours of fun in this one. :)
I would get this right now, but I am watching my budget. I am also holding out to see if Pikmin 3 gets a release date. But I will definitely be getting this charming title at some point. Makes GREAT use of the Gamepad and I hope future Wii U titles do the same. But seriously, if you own a Wii U and don't plan on getting this game with the drought we're currently having, you're nutz.
Yeah, the loading times wouldn't be better digitally because the disk reading isn't what's causing them; the game is so huge (due to its scope or bad coding) that they had to throw on major compression. The Wii U gets the files very quickly, but it takes some time for the system to decompress them.
Actually, the car-riding isn't that new. There were things you could ride as well as vehicles in Lego Star Wars: The Original Trilogy. That's the second Lego game in the series.
Are you going to review Need For Speed Most Wanted for Wii U? I can understand the lack of appealing racing games for the Wii, but I think you'll find that this is the first Nintendo port of a NFS title in a long while that doesn't suck.
but he did say he only played the wii versions... but I shouldn't be talking cause I have only played 4 lego games and that wasn't one of them. and you could ride things in lego pirates of the carribean witch is a very good game and I recommend playing it if you never have.

The Wii U has an SSD in it, those can be read much faster than a normal hard drive and especially discs. Many late PS3/Xbox 360 games and pretty much every PS4 and Xbox One game (even a few Wii U games like Watch_Dogs and Xenoblade X) required or strongly recommended installs so a lot of the game is read off of the systems internal memory. This allows for faster load times in most games and some games couldn't read data off the disc fast enough to have the game function correctly without installs.

At least 20 games are coming out before the end of April. This means Wii U will have more system selling games, and trust me this on is a system seller. Plus if Wii U does end up in third in the 8th gen Nintendo has 9 billion dollars saved up to try again. Wii U is amazing and when people realize this it will sell.

Another neat feature (not sure if it's in other games) is if you plug headphones into the gamepad, all the game audio will come from the headphones.

Two of his flaws with this game were fixed in the remastered version which are shorter loading times and the inclusion of a co-op feature.

The reason the loading times are so long is thatit has to load the intire map (lego city) and the levels within it
