Dyno Session with a Blow-Through Carbureted Mustang | Eric Pappageorge & Jon Bitler

- Опубліковано 9 лют 2025
- Eric Pappageorge joins us today to get his 1980 Procharged Mustang dialed in on the Hub Dyno! This Foxbody Mustang is rocking a blow-through carburetor from IRD Racing and is paired with our FT550, WB-O2 Nanos, and IGN1A Inductive Smart Coils.
Eric brought the guy behind this blow-through carburetor, Jon Bitler, to join this dyno session. Jon has been to the dyno before with his 1969 Procharged Nova and managed to break some records by making 3093HP! Making it the most powerful conventional cylinder head centrifugal supercharger as well as most powerful blown-through single carburetor engine!
We are excited to see what Eric can lay down on the track this season in the True Street Class, especially with having companies like IRD Racing and FuelTech on his side!
If you haven't seen it yet, go watch Jon Bitler's Dyno video:

Happy to see some carburetor love too! Grande abraco familia FT!
WTH 😮 I didn’t know a carburetor could make that much power 🔥 it’s nice to see what a carburetor and a Fueltech can do!
Oh yeah Steve Morris was doing that like 15+ yrs ago!!
Lol carburetors can support a lot more power than that. They are just a mixing device, just like fuel injection. A pair of ported dominators flowing 1500cfm each on alcohol fuel... will move more air than any EFI throttle body you can think of.
💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻 CANT BEAT THE OLE 🪛🪛🪛🪛 SCREWDRIVER FOR TUNING THE CARB 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
that's a crazy number for 360 with F1 through auto, clean car, congrats
Sweet lil weezer man
Damn strong runner
Over 1,200 horsepower at only 4,500 rpm's...🇺🇸💪😁
Bill from OMG would love this
When will someone make a V Band setup to hold the carb hats on.
Is there a large enough market? It cost a ton of $ in R&D to bring a new part to market. Surprised motion raceworks doesn't make one. They do a lot of stuff like that
Steve Morris has that figured out. He's been doing those for almost 2 decades and his normally never pop off
Which f1 was it ? X or a-94? Just curious.
Who makes the belt guard on that Procharger?
I am intrigued by how much information you can get from the spark plugs after even just a dyno pull. Can anyone elaborate on that?
All the information you need.
Timing, and if there's anything the wideband is missing or maybe misfire. The spark plug has a front row seat to the show and will let you know what's happening in that cylinder.
@@ArthurSperotto I missed the information part ..lol
@@foxxrider250rspark plug reading gets important at higher power levels. There are a bunch of videos on that
@@KingJT80 Thanks, I will see what I can find
What size hood to cover that set up?
Are you...god damit. That is sweet.
Bad azz 4 eye Fox
man that thing is nasty
And the millennials/gen z poses loves to talk shit bout carbs lol. Great work fellas, makes me wanna go back to carburetor 😢
Nothing like going efi without going efi. Carb guys eating it up there is a guy with a flat head while they have a bad ass ecu in that car that can do it all. Not saying carbs can't be badass! Just funny to see people eat stuff up and not being self-aware. The carb man is literally telling them the carb will have to be drastically changed come race day due to air. That's the benefit of efi... you dont have to change jets and turn screws as the weather changes hour by hour day by day.
Why drive a foxbody from the 80's if a more modern chassis will make a better race car? Why listen to vinyl if digital files store much more resolution? Why drive a manual if an auto is faster and requires less effort? The answer is the same for all: because it makes us feel a certain way... and we like that.
@@ArthurSperotto There is a difference between "making you feel a certain way" and being stuck in yours ways/unwilling to learn new things. That's like having someone else take said higher resolution audio file and put in a vinyl for you to listen to because you refuse to learn how to play music on the iPhone you already have.
No really carbs like pro system take all the guess work out of doing the jet changes and such but then again their carbs are around 1800 👀
Over 1200hp at 4500 rpm is crazy i wounder how much it will make around 8000 rpm
Asking this question to learn, not talk shit. Is the efi/carb combo so that way they can control other parameters outside of fuel? Or is the fuel metered to the carb through the efi system?
@bigboreracing356 00:45
@bigboreracing356 again which brings me back to my original question. Why do they have an EFI system on the car if it's Carbureted?
@bigboreracing356 ok so what's the point of having an ecu if there is no fuel injection?
So they have an ECU in the car. Strictly for everything but engine management is what you're eluding to? That seems a little odd to me. Do you think they use it for any other type of engine management like cam phasing, ignition timing. Hell what sparked my initial question was if they maybe use it to control how much fuel flows to the carb and that's how they controlled fueling. I don't remember them saying if it is a mechanical pump or not.
@@bigboreracing356 No disrespect. But it's a good thing you don't teach people this kind of stuff. I'm pulling teeth to get just a straight forward answer. Do you happen to be a politician? 😂
Cool car, weird setup. How much money are you really saving over full efi
it's not always about the money
Then what is it about?
@@f5garage401the cool Factor... Not everybody wants a cookie cutter setup
Omg if I wanna hear metal music I will play it.
Why run a carburetor with the ft550?
Believe it or not... a carburetor can be VERY good ;)
Safety things and timing tuning
@@ArthurSperotto I run a CSU 750 with a D1-X on a 347. I wasn't knocking the carb. I just don't see why you would spend the money on fuel tech and not inject it
are you saying why run a carb when you have an ft550 or are you saying why run an ft550 with a carb? i dont understand why the hell someone would run a carb when you're putting fueltech on it.....
@@nalley6815because some classes dont allow efi, or for simplicity sometimes. Efi is not the end all be all to racecars. Fastest cars on the planet don't even run efi. Fuel injection yes, electronic fuel injection, no.
Beautiful awesome car Ford power forever baby keep on pulling the knot out of them boties and the horns off them mopars l love it Chevy killer forever baby and all the rest
So how much did he save? Cash wise? Anything? You can’t tell me that the carb guys that have been around for over 30yrs don’t know things that this guy does! See what Steve Morris has to say about it! When he started with boosted engines, everything was basically blow through! Steve made 2100 on pump gas with a blow through probably 15yrs ago! At some point, you just start eating up parts!
👀👀👀👀👀👀👍👍👍👍👍
