I realize that Ian Gillan isn't the vocalist he used to be, but I really love him and Deep Purple, and ALL of them really seem to be having a hell of a time. It's infectious, to say the least.
Any fan of Purple will really love this video, and love Deep Purple even more because of it.

YES! Besides the playing, one of the other great parts of this video is watching how much into it Purple STILL are. It's invigorating, to say the least.

Steve knows how to interpret Ritchie's stuff, but in his own way without disturbing the main nuances

I don't understand why people make negative comments about Ian's singing because it strikes me that among the other greats such as Plant he was conserved a much better capability.

Hey anyone have a sheet or tab or anything about what Jon Lord plays at 8:00? (I know he doesn't play the whole thing there, i want all! :P)

You say that he isn't the vocalist that he used to but compared to Robert Plant and may other pioneers of hard rock Gillan has retained a much better range than most of others because he had formal and classical training. If you watch his BBC performance of sweet child in time you can observe that when he does the three octave screams his moth vibrates and you can see his his caning teeth which is pure classical teeth...anyway we both love him as a singer...he is one of the all time greats :)
