Federer had a period of dominance here from 2004-09. 5 titles and 6 finals. Since then, nobody else at least in the men's singles category has defended a US Open title. That's 16 years!
Until 2008 you mean.
Finals should not be counted.
@@Italo-j5c Yeah, that's what I said. 5 titles and 6 finals. 16 years since a title defense.
Novak was banned in 2022 and won in 2023 . Probably would have 2 in a row
@@akhileshjj32717 finals
💯 correct…
Factually incorrect video... Court speed indexes of Australia is faster... AUS has seen speed rise to 50.. while usasaw max of 43.ita just that ..tennis players are exhausted by the time they come here
Thank you for the fact. AO has faster surfaces compared to USO.
Pretty sure that AO has used Greenset not Plexicusion since 2020
Actually us open was really really fast during the 2000 but at the start of the 2010s it slowed down drastically and also had a higher bounce thus favouring Nadal and not Federer for example who won it 5 times during the 2000 and not a single time in the 2010s that's why Nadal won it 4 times during the 2010s as for Djokovic he hasn t have had as much success in this surface because once it was really fast and after it was really slow Djokovic prefers medium pace surfaces nowadays they have actually sped the court quite a bit which still doesn't t suit Djokovic game.
@@mrhatman675 the thing is us open had no dominant winners where it was both fast and slow bcz post Federer no one has been able to successfully defend the title... due to surge of first strike tennis .. first strike tennis players are winning.. still no dominancy... this year is the prime example of why that doesn't happen .. due to the conjusted nature of the schedule.m most top players are already spent.. and this happens most in us open only... Federer 's game lacks depth...when he has the biological advantageous setting of the court suiting powerful tall servers bcz of their reach , thats when Federer shines . In a comparatively physical setting with longer rallies , he fails to replicate that success
Federer won USO 5 times in a row though
Interesting video. It’s quite amazing that no man has defended the US Open since Federer in 2008.
Plus the us open is the last grand slam of the year! By the time the tournament arrives players are half burnt out and because the us open surface is faster it’s more prone to injuries!
AO is just as hard to dominate as USO with the extreme heat. It's just that Novak is too great.
And ALWAYS plays at night
No it's not . If it were he would have 10 us open titles as well. Also the fact that he is a night session merchant at Australia .
Just look at what happened this year. They played during day and dopovic couldn't get a single break point lmao😂😂😂😂😂
Or because he never plays in the 'extreme heat'
I think it's very simple, each grand slam is equally as hard, since it's not the conditions that make it hard, but the competition, and all competitors have to face the same conditions. Because then, objectively Roland Garros has the toughest conditions, but then how does a guy win it 14 times, not because he has it any easier than anybody else, but because he's just better under those conditions. The reason the US Open is so volatile is because it's very hard to stay in top form for the US Open, especially for top playeys, since the calendar is to grueling, that's why you always see so many upsets at the US Open
6 men have 4+ USO titles vs 3 men for AO
I came here to get insighting explanation about the US open. I left very disappointed.
Great video! The AI voice is jarring tho. Just buy a microphone you’ve already done the hard work of writing/editing video
Thank you! Will do soon ❤️
@@TennisTimeCapsule12 Really glad to hear that btw
wonder how rafa won US Open 4 times even with the lower bounce and faster courts. I felt his game suited high bounce and slow courts in Paris.
2008 to 2019 it was slower hardcourts
Thank you for such a good video! Hopefully you will make one for Sinner too.
That's the plan!
Damn high quality video. U deserve more subs
I never heard more bullshit in just one video...
He lost me at Roger n challenges with the crowd support . Least of al Roger has had the upper hand agaainsst local players . If anything he enjoyed it
However if peak Novak couldnt win back to back then i m sure there mus be some theory behind it .
aus open play in green set now. not in plaxicushion anymore
great video, the script does get quite repetitive. For example, i think ive heard the word unpredictable at least 5 times within the last 2 minutes of the video, did get a bit annoyed by that.
AI shlop
Interesting video
federer dominated new york lol
Yes he did during the weakest era of tennis
Fermer dominated the us open 😂 4:10
All courts are now like clay😂😂 some hard court are slower than clay😂😂😂
Which hard courts are slower than which clay courts?
Australian Open,Miami,Toronto, Cincinnati,Us Open,ATP Finals have quite really fast Courts.
(Only ATP Top Event Tournaments listed)
No, that is a myth that ignorant people like to make others believe.
