Poor skizz, he did such a good job and people all found him so quickly. If it weren’t for the video being out, he could try to have other friends find him until he finally gets a satisfying run 😂
When making a secret entrance behind a painting, I find it really helpful to make it only one and a half blocks high. That way, you need to crouch to get in, which a lot of people don't do when they test wether or not there is an entrance behind the painting.
Skizz, not sure if you'll see this but genuinely that build was amazing. Literally the best one I've seen so far with how creative and convoluted everything was. When you said to Grian in his POV "I know what that feels like" I instantly figured someone had found you without exploring but I really didn't think it would be everyone, unlucky. Wish everyone had gotten to see more of this build, it really was super creative and convoluted. I think the best advice I can give for the future is that you need to always plan that people are going to instantly go into the area that you're going to be in. Essentially what that means is to hide the hiding spots so they're a bit less "obvious" because as you said, if someone goes into the dungeon, you're pretty much cooked. This build was distraction-based but it was all in all really cool and I'm glad you went so in-depth with all the little secrets and surprises. Congrats on full-time!
when I saw the redstone lever trick, I REALLY hoped that at the very top of the castle there would be an archery course set up where one of the target blocks opened an iron door in that small building he put up there. There's TONS of bows and arrows around... so make people use them!
Skizz be teling us he's not a builder like it'll distract from the fact that he's HILARIOUS and an actual genius with trolls and goofing around, which is arguably more enjoyable to watch, lol fr though, skizz, you are improving so much already with your building with just a short while on hermitcraft! And those Joel and Lizzie stockades!? SO good XD
Yes! All of this exactly, I totally agree. Skizz up there as one of my favorite hermits right now. Top 5 or possibly even top 3. I'm not here to be impressed, I'm here to be entertained. And Skizz never fails to make me laugh. I look forward to seeing him grow as a builder, but that's not what I watch him for.
As cool as it is to see people build the amazing things in Minecraft, it’s their personalities that really get me invested. And Skizz is like so talented in that regard. It’s his personality that just drives everything and he’s so inviting. Like if Skizz is in a video you know it’s gonna be a good time.
This castle is genuinely a really good build, I do large-scale builds and would struggle to make all these twists and turns. Also, the stocks are genius!
If Skizz has just hidden in the small wooden house at the top of the walls it would’ve taken ages. Grian was the only one who even went up all the way, and even then he didn’t even go on the wall.
No that’s so sad, that was such a great build with so many cool hidden features. Your friends know you too well. If it wasn’t for that block being missing at first, I don’t think grian would have found you
Skizz no more self bashing! You're a great builder. You just haven't found your stride yet. It happens to everyone. You have immense potential, i can see it. Learning is done one block at a time!
I laughed at the puffer fish dip EVERY time. Skizz you beautiful bastard! I swear, not a single episode has passed in which this man hasn't made me guffaw like, a puffer fish. :))
I'm also upset that Major and Impulse found your (new) hiding spot so quickly. I'm so glad you gave us a tour before they went looking around because if we had only seen it from their perspectives, we wouldn't have seen all the hiding spots you had made.
Everybody jumped in the water immediately cuz shubble and gem like to put hiding spots underwater and everyone's used to that now. Ps. I think impulse just has skizz radar. Like an internal skompass or something
I love how Skizz is concerned about being too difficult and then Grian was just casually dropped a universe on the crew 🤣 Love seeing you in little one offs like these, Skizz!! Love that you're venturing into putting such fun small details into the builds, love the addition of using your pals as Props around the area!! Makes for great story telling :D
the moment I saw you get "Medieval", I realized something: you and MythicalSausage together would be the biggest nightmare imaginable for all of your PG UA-camr friends
Hey you did great! You just need to learn how the others operate. Scott is very methodical so you want to hide as far up/away from the entrance as possible. Jimmy is easily distracted/loves to explore so if you make fun looking potential hiding spots that's where he'll be. Havent seen impulse or grian do it before so more info needed. But you did a great job!!!! Grian and Jimmy took ages to find you. One little suggestion if I may - add a timer when they are seeking so we know who won. Cant wait for the next one!
His sense of humor combined with his steadily improving building skills as well as his fantastic ability to tell stories. Is such a good combination that I don't know that I saw coming but can now only wonder at all the incredible things he has coming now that he is full-time and always getting better in the game. I absolutely loved this build and all the little details. This was such a fun watch. It's also giving a little bit of stanley parable's vibes and I love that 😂
Prediction: Scott finds him immediately, Jimmy gets super annoyed at all the dummies, Grian finds him fairly quickly, Impulse... I dunno, acts like Impulse? Spoiler warning: Edit: I GOT IT RIGHT
I think they had a tracking device on him, literally EVERYONE, skipped the floors he wasn't on, except Grian trying to hide the conspiracy by pretending to not know he wasnt in the underground cellars as well as the top of the tower.
Tough luck 😂 I loved all the little confusion hidey holes! If you're interested in suggestions: I may just have missed it, but I'd love a seek-time comparison next time ^^ Great video, and the castle looks great!
The social engineering that went into this was absolutely wonderful. I think you should've stuck to your guns! I think the thing you forgot about was that Grian and Jimmy are masters of brute force, but Scott and Impulse are very thorough with their investigations. Grian and Jimmy barrel at the first thing they see, while Impulse and Scott comb very methodically from bottom to top in order to not miss anything. Great job, with very silly consequences! The build was spectacularly convoluted
Skizz, your building is improving so much! This build was so amazing and I hope they all got to explore it after the game. I will say, that one shack on the top floor may have been a good option for change of hiding spot since none of them went to the top aside from Grian when he went through the tower.
yeah, the painting spot would have been so much better if you required some light parkor... or even one jump, to reach it instead. Dont just leave it against the outer wall of the stairs where someone could find it by accident simply because of how tight the staircase is, put it across from the top landing or make them parkor from the same spot up a few extra paintings to the top of the stairwell.
"You got G over here having a bad day" I feel like all your friends in this dungeon are having a bad day. Even befire anyone starts seeking. what did joel and lizzi do to ya 😂
Scott (dangthatsalongname) is really good at checking Everywhere, so I'm not surprised he found the dungeon. Turns out Impulse has proven to be equally as throughout, I hope to see him included in more of these! Also awesome job Skizz! I loved your build!
One trick I'd love to see people trying for a hiding spot: Have a door leading to a very small space that's obviously empty, so people don't go inside (like the triple door thing in your dungeon). Then remove the blocks that door covers up when open and use that as a secret hiding place.
THE INTRO IS SO GOOD ❤❤ AND THE CASTLE LOOKS SO COOL TOO DUDE! ❤❤❤ AND SEEING JUST YOU WALKING BY AND COMPLETELY DISREGARDING LIZZIE AND JOEL WHILE THEY ARE IN THE PRISON THING IS SO FUNNY Genuinely feels so good seeing you playing in these, homie buddy
Skizz I really love this build! It’s not super textured or beautiful but, I don’t know, something about it being rough really gives it the medieval vibe more than anything else I’ve seen in Minecraft. I like the weird block choices (like for the dungeon walls) and the generally convoluted layout. You don’t get enough credit as a builder and I think you bring something unique to the table.
You had some fun hiding ideas! I loved seeing everyone going into the moat first! 😂 Cool dungeon. Loved seeing Joel and Lizzie in stocks. That was a creative way to do them. I loved how you guessed Grian’s build so fast!
Actually, Skizz, it can be possible to predict each player's route by their mentality! Grian and Jimmy are chaotic and unorganized people (i mean it in the best way possible), they were bound to explore what first meets their eyes - hence why they explored the first floor and then went upstairs (as from the start they knew towers exist, and in their brains it was the 'next stop') and never catched the dungeon that was close to the wall and barely visible. Now, Scott and Impulse are tactics. They are organized, meticulous players who always aim for the most optimal route for the win. That's why they immediately went downstairs - starting from the lowest point to the top is the best way to find someone. It's kinda instinctal too, thinking 'prey' won't escape you if there's no way for them but up. An effect of considering each player's mentality can be seen in Smajor's video. He was changing hiding places every round and it was always a case of 'all the other guys looked there first but the current player found current hiding spot last'. You can see it with how with G he hid in the place up, behind the parkour, as it's a place you don't see immediately; same with Jimmy, tho with Jimmy it's a matter of hiding behind a smart trick he just won't consider; yet with Impulse, who'd be meticulously checking everything from the bottom to the top, Scott hid himself on the highest point possible, making it the last place Impy would check.
Oh, also speaking of mentality participating in those videos, it's also very telling with what people focus on while building. Scott: he's the _mastermind_, he's great at building games and predicting people's movements. He prepared a dozen of hiding places and was choosing them based on his judgment of everyone's character. (like how he didn't choose the parkour course for Skizz or Impulse, or didn't choose the ice cream 'smart trick' for someone like G or Impy) Grian: for him it's not about time or hiding, it's about his vision and the journey. His build was very straightforward in a way that it wasn't exactly 'find Grian' but rather 'reach the end'. He had a perfect vision of his space pillar, he had the story of going from the cozy house to different worlds, etc. Jimmy: he's kinda like Grian but he focuses not on the story or particular vision but on 'first impression'. He thought DK was a great idea and he built it, not even considering that he'd need lots of hidey holes lol he's the type to not plan something and just go with their gut Skizz: bullying! haha, i mean all the signs and references. You focus more on the humor and funny detailing. Like those chests - they didn't need to be packed with stacks of swords and armour but you did it, because it's fun, and when you're focused on one task you work through details while looking at it Haven't seen Impy's episode yet, he's next in line, so maybe I'll update after :D
what insane rotten luck. you had so many red herrings and no one explored any of them. the fact everyone got in the moat and got annoyed at the pufferfish was hilarious.
Skizz, I've been watching you for a long while now, and I am so so impressed with how much you have grown as a creator :) from your builds to your editing, it's super exciting seeing you flourish and find your style :) we are all soooo proud of you, and I hope you feel the same way ❤
Honestly, it’s not your fault at all that they found you so quick. There is NO WAY of knowing who will go where first. I loved the variety of troll spots and they were honestly so funny. I’m glad Jimmy got to see some of them before he found you.
the intro had me absolutely cracking up! something about the characters sliding across the screen and "its best to take the high road, celebrate with them and act mature about it" SMACK amazing job I'm 15 seconds into the video and already laughing my head off
You could've put trapdoors instead of signs behind the painting. That makes it harder to go through the painting, especially if you put the two trapdoors on opposite sides.
Skizz that was an awesome build with unique ideas of randomness that belongs in the medieval castles. You should be proud your building is improving a lot and added to your comedic comments with it is epic😂
you did really well Skizz! the effort that went into every block and chest is much appreciated. it's great to see people interacting with a structure entirely made by you. they were talking about the floors, doors, rooms, pufferfish, redstone and so on! that's the power of creating something. this might not be something that suits you, but your comedic signs, puns, and usage of blocks is still genius, as Jimmy said. you have good thinking
Dude. You are improving so much with building. And improving our building by proxy. Seeing you push through the learning curve gave me the motivation to do the same. After hours of work and learning, I have something I’m proud of, and it’s thanks to your attitude and dedication to your work❤❤
could you maybe next time, time the seekers on how long they take to find you? this way we can see wich one of them found you the quickest. wich is fun to compare. anyways, I loved your build and it's so fun to see you get included in these collabs!
this build is so good!! seriously, theres so many little details, and its so fun to see you include your friends even if they arent present for the video lol thats horrid luck for the hiding places though, they must have been sniffing for ya!
Honestly, Skizz made a pretty cool castle, sure there are ways to improve but it definitely feels alive and the things he did to make it feel less empty worked well
Can you imagine if that hole wasnt there? Grian thought he had gone against all the paintings. It would have taken him ages to find you! The last place anyone checks, is a place they've already searched!
Haven’t watched all perspectives yet but from what I’ve seen so far Skizz definitely had the best build for this challenge with his hiding spots. Really loved how there were SO many different paths and red herrings, and they were all done in really creative and unique ways; some of which were hidden especially well and got walked straight past a couple times without ever being noticed. It was super unfortunate that he got as unlucky as he did with people always happening to pick the right way to go by complete luck, but even with that, it still ended up taking Grian and Jimmy a decent amount of time to find him. I almost wish more people were involved in this just because I could definitely see this build taking the most time and causing the most frustration if everyone didn’t get as lucky as they did. Impulse and Scott instantly going to the dungeon when Grian and Jimmy never even noticed it was hilariously unfortunate, like what are the odds of that 😂 The entire build really impressed me!

First build and seek with Skizz, what a great addition! Sinister build, I love it!
Skizz, I've been watching you for a long while now, and I am so so impressed with how much you have grown as a creator :) from your builds to your editing, it's super exciting seeing you flourish and find your style :) we are all soooo proud of you, and I hope you feel the same way ❤
So I'm throwing dice in the alley, then Officer Leroy comes up and he's like "hey I thought I told you-" and I'm like "yeah WHATEVER!"
Cuz this is my united states of whatever! :)
Was searching the comments for someone else who got the reference lmao, that song is my childhood
3:57 loved this editing lol! also the medieval music was nice
Man this castle is awesome. Skizz's building skills are rapidly improving!
Honestly, it’s not your fault at all that they found you so quick. There is NO WAY of knowing who will go where first. I loved the variety of troll spots and they were honestly so funny. I’m glad Jimmy got to see some of them before he found you.
the intro had me absolutely cracking up! something about the characters sliding across the screen and "its best to take the high road, celebrate with them and act mature about it" SMACK
amazing job I'm 15 seconds into the video and already laughing my head off
Me too!!
Great build and good complexity Skizz. Went and watched all 5 videos. Love all the hup’s.
Oooooo this video is going to be AMAZING
I love the music you used while building the castle, it's very medival sounding.
you did really well Skizz! the effort that went into every block and chest is much appreciated. it's great to see people interacting with a structure entirely made by you. they were talking about the floors, doors, rooms, pufferfish, redstone and so on! that's the power of creating something. this might not be something that suits you, but your comedic signs, puns, and usage of blocks is still genius, as Jimmy said. you have good thinking
Congrats on making it to full time, Skizz! Hope to see you in lots more events like these
I appreciate you explaining your thought process for exploring your build. Which was really good! This was an awesome, fun game.
12:22 THAT SOUND SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME, THERES PEOPLE SLEEPING IN MY HOUSE
This is such fun! I love how each of you really made your builds reflect your personalities. In your case: all the trolling, and it worked so well!
Dude. You are improving so much with building. And improving our building by proxy. Seeing you push through the learning curve gave me the motivation to do the same. After hours of work and learning, I have something I’m proud of, and it’s thanks to your attitude and dedication to your work❤❤
Awww so unlucky! that was such a great build with lots of cool places for people to get distracted by.
"A tower here, a tower there, put your hands in the air." I love this guy 😂
could you maybe next time, time the seekers on how long they take to find you? this way we can see wich one of them found you the quickest. wich is fun to compare. anyways, I loved your build and it's so fun to see you get included in these collabs!
this build is so good!! seriously, theres so many little details, and its so fun to see you include your friends even if they arent present for the video lol thats horrid luck for the hiding places though, they must have been sniffing for ya!
Lizzy and Joel in the stocks really got me, great job
That was such a cool build! I don't think you're giving yourself enough credit for how long the first two took to find you, they explored quite a bit!
Great to see you use world edit so easily. I remember you really struggleing in build swap.
Also "remember when you found me? Me neither"
😂😂😂😂
This was actually a pretty good build skizz, it would have been so mean to just hide under the castle deep in the water
Absolutely loving this brilliant medieval building skizz ❤
Honestly, Skizz made a pretty cool castle, sure there are ways to improve but it definitely feels alive and the things he did to make it feel less empty worked well
Can you imagine if that hole wasnt there? Grian thought he had gone against all the paintings. It would have taken him ages to find you! The last place anyone checks, is a place they've already searched!
Oooh something new for skizz! Love it!
Impulse and Scott instantly going to the dungeon when Grian and Jimmy never even noticed it was hilariously unfortunate, like what are the odds of that 😂
The entire build really impressed me!
Hope you’re enjoying your new career Skizz!!!
