A good indicator is whether you are writing forward looking syrheses that open new research directions. Then you are more likely to be a future group leader.
Thanks for the helpful content. I'm also interested in future video(s) about your opinion on tenure track. Tenure tracks (9mo, 1yr, 2yr) are becoming a common way of recruiting scholars.
Thanks for writing. Forms of employment are quite country-specific, so not sure how a general video could address this. However, tenure-track is certainly a rather common feature in many countries.
Establishing a niche of research interests and refined understanding of the theme at very early research career is very-very and more important than technical skills. I agree with thinking on broadening or spanning because this may help researchers to fit for all but manytimes for nothing..
What was your experience with transitioning to an independent group leader? Let me know here. Thanks for watching! 😀
Thank you, sir.
My pleasure, glad you liked the video.

Thanks! Yes, I agree that this is definitely an indication that the person in question has a vision for the field.
