If one has completed the operation pass, then certain custom games offer Spartan Points instead of operation pass XP. I was incredibly surprised when I learnt this!
I feel like if 343 added a few new things every week it would be much better. there's like hundreds of random emblems, coatings, and nameplates that have never been released that could easily be added to the exchange
What? There's like 5 or 6 new or unreleased items in the Exchange. The rest are just rewards from previous events. Tenrai season 1 and the Launch Event are the only two that have released so far. Next Operation is going to probably have Cyber Showdown I
They had a good template for Infinite with MCC's Exchange. 1 point for 1 item and a few more points for the rare stuff. Granted MCC Exchange has it's issues too. Some items are pretty much unobtainable now because they either take upwards of a year to rotate back in or the bottom row items never coming back. 343 needs to address the issues in both games, but given they're focused on the next game, and everything else is on life support, I doubt we'll see them fix either.
I think one way to add spartan points could be to make something in forge. I played gta a while ago and a weekly challenge was make a race mode/map for a 100k which is chump change but a new player could buy clothes, car or weapons with that. I've not seen that challenge return but for halo something should exist since it heavily uses forge creations
I'd really like to see dinh's new dynasty coating in the exchange at some point and some of the other visors that were added on S2 that were never released. as well as maybe updating past event weekly rewards to be cross-core ( like foxwood seal, on track, redline interrupt, ecru abbey, hammerhead squadron coatings updated, or just past weekly coatings in general.
let’s not forget the new dynasty coating from season 2, spartans eklund’s and dihn’s armors kits and pieces were earnable, however dihn’s coating was never released and the only way you can wear it is by putting on his kit for the rakshasa core.
> My friend didn't unlock Kabuto Helmet "We can wait for the Exchange to feature Tenrai items! It'll be there! >Tenrai IV drops >Looks inside >Kabuto isn't there.
I believe there are still unreleased unlockables from the campaign. One example I can give is the other coating, 'Banished Deception' for the other vehicles, like the wasp.
I'm actually kind of mad that they're putting old items in the exchange, especially with all the unreleased stuff that exists. Not only does the exchange add no reward to those who have been playing the game through its darkest times, it literally removes the rewards we did get. It makes all those coatings we got in ultimate rewards when nobody was playing, worthless. Part of the reason I love my 100% free armor is that I strugggled to make it look so good, and soon everyone will just be able to get all those exclusive pieces in the exchange. Instead there should be new stuff so anyone can make a good looking 100% free armor, but not the one I struggled to make, ultimate reward by ultimate reward, twitch drop by twitch drop, event by event. This is made even worse by the fact that you can't show the time you invested in the game with unlockable items like in Halo 3 or reach. The only bragging rights we get except for the Hero rank are those "exclusives", which now aren't.
@@MAGPIELEON I disagree. Fomo is what keeps players checking in to see what's on. I hate the idea that all (potentially) the items that I played for (early challenges were not fun) are now going to be reduced in worth. I want to wear something that shows I was grinding through those dark times!!! It makes me feel devalued for trying to keep the game alive. I've missed some pieces here and there and that's my bad. Most other live services don't let you go back and get stuff.... so keep playing. Fomo is healthy for a live service game. A reason to not miss out, if you will.
Thank you. You've said exactly what I was struggling to find the words to say. Playing on through the REAL endless (that's what I call season 2 LOL) to get items that I like and others might not have. It feels like a slap in the face for my perseverance.
@@UnhandyCandy280 If it’s an event I’ll get that but items should not be fomo especially if you can have an archive system. People don’t like fomo for it feels less like they’re having fun and instead doing a chore. It’s why it’s hated
Tbh, the exchange is the only reason I started playing again after a while, especially when I don’t want to spend 100$ on battle passes and cosmetics. If they didn’t add back the Yokai helmet, then I wouldn’t have a reason to play again. I already completed the Tenrai operation in 4 days, even though I could’ve spent an entire night to complete it (it was took me less than 12 hours to lvl 15) only thing I really want in terms of customization is the kabuto helmet, since it was one of the helmets I fell in love with after halo 3 hayabusa, and another thing that I would want integrated in matchmaking is more rewards while progressing through the ranks, since all we get are emblems that can be added onto vehicles and armor, but does nothing in comparison to getting either credits or Spartan points for better customization and cosmetics in general. (Currently Staff Sergeant platinum grade III)
That's pretty much all the things it should be, yup. It would be a much better feature with 50 match SP, content drops every two weeks, and bringing in the unreleased content faster. I'm kind of surprised they didn't use one of the unreleased things with a lot of community interest as a splash to introduce the feature, too. Floating the silent snow coating would have got people grinding for it. I'm not seeing any xanadu whatever in matchmaking even now that maxing the available points earnings can afford it.
It's a welcome addition, they just need to update it more frequently than once a month and allow people to earn SP per match. To me this seems like common sense to get better daily engagement for the game. 🤷♂
Here is the BIG problem as I see it player retention is terrible because I can complete all challenges in 3-5 hours, put the game down, and not play it for a week outside of Ranked there is no incentive to grind everyday if 343 had 4 Dailly Challenges (3+ the one we have now) people would play everyday to unlock the Ultimate at the end of the week. As things stand now I play other games during the week I just finished SW: Jedi Survivor I have other options but GODDAMN Halo's gameplay is just so good I hate to just stop investing time in something I love
Personally, I'd like to be able to trade in my Spartan Points for Credits (maybe 1,000 SP = 50 or 100 Credits) If they're going to put most of the content in the store now, I'd like to at least be able to purchase some of it without bringing out my wallet. This also (sort of) brings back the ability to purchase the next operation by completing the previous. I'm having a hard time putting my thoughts into words, so I hope y'all understand what I'm going for.
If something is priced at 30,000 Spartan Points with the current methods of obtainment only, imo it either: A: Needs to be a very special or unique cosmetic. Say, an animated coating or weapon model. Something which is insanely cool by design and would turn a lot of heads due to how different it is. B: Don't be one item - make it a bundle of multiple items. Instead of just one coating, why not a coating alongside a helmet, shoulder pads, chestpiece and gloves? Make it look like a good deal by bundling. Either way, no single normal item should cost 30,000 SP. And I think a lot of the complaints levied at SP's earn rate would not exist if it wasn't for Xanadu Falu both being at 30k and being "available" since day 1 but mathematically unobtainable until over a month later.
NGL, I'd drop a month and a half worth of grinding points on the silent snow coating, or the rest of the ones based on the different colours of elites after the blue one. But those are the only unreleased things left that I significantly want.
Imo I think the best way for the exchange to become better is, get more spartan points, refresh every 2 weeks, get one free refresh for every 2 weeks, lower the prices for the items, either get rid of the emblems or lower the prices for them, and add more customizations for your spartan like visors etc.
Add a Spartan Points per Match reward, boom, Exchange currency problem solved. Infinite already went through this crap when it launched with 100 tier battle passes and no match XP, being restricted to a challenge based XP unlock system. Now we're going through this same crap again with the Exchange and Spartan Points.
Its seem stupid but I have completed all of the first like 3 battle passes, but when those weird armor variants came out I stopped buying the passes, but when the Mark IV Suit came out I haven't used anything else but the default suit. Mark IV is just actual Super Soldier looking.
If they just let us earn Spartan Points with every match we complete similar to Battle Pass and Career XP along with adding new items into the Exchange at a much faster rate instead of every 4-6 weeks with every new Operation then I would have a very positive opinion on it but right now it's a mixed bag feature.
I hope they eventually make spartan points be able to purchase store content, especially with the way the game will eventually be "discontinued" so there really won't be any point to buying things
I thought the exchange would have weekly or monthly cycles of older ultimateitems. Its so disappointing though, overpriced items, lacklustre items to unlock and frustratingly slow updates
Really, just refresh it weekly or biweekly with new items and award some SP for finishing any game like you mentioned. This drip feeding from 343 is annoying.
Can we please get the Anderson Nights neon pink visor? Ive never seen anyone wear it so its probably an unreleased item like the Needle helmet attachment was I stopped playing Infinite like 3 weeks ago theres no reason to grind anymore
I like the exchange system but its current state will never be enough. I have close to 40k spartan points and most of the exchange items that i like I ALREADY HAVE. Like pls 343 can you at least allow me to buy specific pieces from bundles with spartan points its not that difficult.
Idk what you guys want, because if they made the game $60/$70 nobody would buy it, because that system is outdated idc what any of you say. So with it being F2P they can't just give out every cosmetic for free, they have to be monetized otherwise they game would have died day 1. It's easy to understand so why none of you guys do, is beyond me.
Helldivers was killing it with a $40 game and cheap MTX, instead of a free game with expensive mtx. Mind you, helldivers is also in a lot of ways a better game than 343 has demonstrated the capability to put together. You have to make an absolute banger to rake in money on the high volume low margin model. Although I do find some of helldivers' controls mechanics extremely annoying compared to what 343 did with halo.
@@xcfjdyrkdtulkgfilhu it's playerbase dropped a lot after a month, nobody wanted to buy it, and the lack of MTs drove the player base away, they won't admit it but it's the truth 🤷♂️
Weird thing to assume when you haven't watched the video and at no point did I ever even imply that. I don't even think I mentioned the premium store that much at all, mostly spoke about content that is ALREADY free, and unreleased cosmetics. Maybe next time you should actually make sure you know what you're talking about before making baseless claims.
Agreed, they’re not difficult. I don’t play much, just my dailies, and like once or twice a week I can play casually for an hour or two. I usually complete the operations within the first 2 weeks, especially with the weekly challenges and a double xp boost
