I honestly cannot thank you enough, I had issues starting my 95 x300 3.2 xj6 with it sometimes taking a good 10 seconds of cranking before starting up, narrowed it down to a dody camshaft position sensor, followed your exact steps with timing and fitment and now it starts and runs perfectly. Cheers!

Thank you for the demonstration. I have been reading similar instructions but it's very nice to see it visually.

Does anyone know how to help me with my xj61997? What is the correct oil for the engine? The alarm, even though it is set and beeping, the light comes on but it still does not lock the doors. And locking the key locks all the doors. The radio turns on normally but there is no sound coming from the speaker. I've tried everything and nothing has resolved it.

I recommend Castrol GTX 10W-40 semi-synthetic engine oil for these cars, for most climates. Your location might affect the choice though. For the first problem, I suspect you have a fault in the remote key fob. The buttons can get damaged. The original radios on these cars are old now and can fail spontaneously, even if they still turn on. Another possibility is a faulty amplifier. I recommend trying a different radio temporarily to narrow down the fault.

@ I recommend double checking the owners hand book, but I suspect 10W-40 will still work ok.
